A safe deposit box is a personal vault offered to the banks’ customers to keep their valuables and belongings safe. Depending on the size of the locker, there is a fee associated with it. Bank locker charges vary by bank and depend on several factors, including the size of the locker, the location of the branch, and the type of area. According to the new RBI bank locker operating guidelines, customers are not permitted to store any illegal goods, such as hazardous materials or prohibited objects, or utilize the locker for criminal purposes. Bank locker charges There is also a one-time locker registration charge of ₹1,000 + GST for large and extra-large lockers and ₹500 + GST for small and medium-sized lockers. SBI does not impose additional costs on you for storing gold in lockers. SBI locker rent: Locker charges at State Bank of India (SBI) range from ₹1,500 to ₹12,000 per year, depending on the size of the locker and the branch’s location.
