I did not expect the high level of quality in this table. Quite frankly I was looking for the cheapest thing I could find to make an office desk. I fully expected a frustrating and dissatisfying time putting it together. But the way this table was designed, the way it was packed, and the thought that went into the whole thing was just wonderful.
It comes unassembled in a flat box. But instead of having a bag of lose screws and bolts all in the same bag there was a cardboard sheet with the hardware clearly labelled and vacuum sealed so nothing could get lost. There were even “spare” fasteners labelled as such. There was so much protective packaging that the box could have survived being run over by a truck.
And then the instructions. Brilliant.
I have assembled who knows how much flat packed furniture over the years including more than my share of Ikea stuff. In all those cases the instructions either suffered from poor translations from the original Cretan Linear-B script, or they were those inscrutable and most unhelpful strange diagrams from Ikea that look like an attempt by the inhabitants of Alpha-Centauri to communicate by stick drawings in sand. But these were blindingly clear and helpful.
The actual assemblage of the metal frame and then the attachment of the top to the frame was smooth and quick. There was no need to hunt down my rubber mallet to whack bits into alignment and the whole thing came together in a handful of minutes.
One further point about the thought that went into this. Most furniture that goes together with Allen screws comes with a short, too short, Allen key. Think Swedish giant again. This one came with that but also with a short and nicely made ratcheting Allen head wrench that took all the effort out of driving the screws home. That is well worth hanging onto for other less enlightened furniture makers.

All negative reviews are people who went way over the100lb weight limit estimate or people who’s came with shipping damage.
These tables are amazing as computer desks. My PC weighs just shy of 45lbs, my monitor weighs 30lbs, and the rest weighs about 10lbs. This table can hold that plus me (140lbs) no problem. Of course, after weeks of that it would start to bow in the middle, but not break. They can probably hold an evenly distributed 150lbs safely (just an estimate). The table feels very sturdy and solid and is easy to put together (though you might need 2 people for the larger version). The tables are also quite heavy, but not so heavy that it makes them impossible to move alone.
I got two of the Espresso black ones and one of the shorter Espresso ones. They look so professional as office desks. The best part about them is that the color is a near-true Espresso that retains the wood grain appearance. That means that predominantly black computer equipment will not blend in, causing an “all-blackout” look that seems a bit dated. These are perfect for black-colored computer equipment. Grab the color that matches your equipment best. Since these tables are wood, you can drill accessories from IKEA into them if you want. They will hold it. They are also just tall enough for coffee tables and small drawers to fit under. I used to have two tables in my 12’x12′ office. After removing some unwanted furniture, I have more space in the room and more desk space as opposed to my older tables.
– The tables will NOT ship in 2 days, even on Prime (at least for the central CA valley). Mine shipped in 5, which was fine.
– My table came with small amounts of shipping damage (in pics). It was so insignificant I didn’t bother returning. Yours may vary.
– I am 5′ 3″ and if I had a better chair, these tables would be amazing for my height.
– These tables are heavy enough to not wobble on thicc carpet like some cheaper, lighter ones.
– The surface of the table is not perfectly flat. Doesn’t matter for writing & drawing. Not so good as drafting tables.
Overall I will probably buy another one for my room, or put it in the garage. I wasn’t even supposed to keep the third short one I got but I liked the build quality so much I found space for it!

This desk is good quality for the price. I got the smaller 47″ size, and it’s enough space for my work from home needs. The setup took me under 15 minutes – all the predrilled holes aligned nicely. There were two large scratches on the side leg on arrival, but it wasn’t enough to warrant a full replacement and Amazon partially refunded me for the damage. The desk wobbles just barely on thick carpet. The weight of the wood top has a nice heft.

The table is lightweight and sturdy, but the final screws in the bottom of the legs are really tough to tighten with the included hexagon tool. That’s the only reason this is not a 5-star rating. Otherwise it’s great.

Compared to other tables in this price range I have purchased on amazon, this is by far way above what I expected, the quality, packaging, and overall experience was phenomenal.
The table itself is extremely rigid, with plenty strong support structure. Compared to other tables, I am confident this will not bend under reasonable load. The tabletop itself is extremely nice. The assembly tools provided are of the quality I would expect if I were literally buying a set for myself, so that was also an extremely nice surprise.
They also included a nice thank you card, custom printed with thank you letters that are blank on the inside, so we gained a few very nice Thank you and Hello cards I can use myself to send to people.
Overall this vendor’s product is outstanding. It is by far the best packed table we have received, and I would be confident that shipping these around the world would be totally fine with the way they are padded. We have received damaged tables from other vendors before, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Sadly, I can no longer recommend Zinus products. I recently ordered 5 more Jennifer desks. Of the 5 I ordered, 3 had manufacturing defects – the frame holes did not align with the desktop – not even close. Additionally, 4 of the 5 had damage, from smashed corners to a shattered desktop. (Shipping damage isn’t necessarily their fault, but smashed corners have been a problem with the Jennifer desk for the LONG time and they’ve done nothing to upgrade the shipping boxes in the years I’ve been ordering these desks.) So I got one good desk out of 5 ordered. There’s no way Zinus doesn’t know there are tons of defective desks out there (read the reviews) and it’s sad they’ve left the customer to weed them out instead of recalling the defective products. It would take me an entire day to try to box all these up to return, and I wouldn’t want to play the odds on how many of the replacement desks would arrive defective or damaged anyway. So the (unfortunate) best solution is just not to order any more Zinus products.

Now this, THIS is a company that cares about it’s product.
Holy smokes, when I first just opened the box I was in awe, it looked like a work of art,;in terms of the way it was just packaged, the care put into it. I’ve opened a lot of boxes, let me tell you, and I don’t think I’ve seen a company go to these lengths of just perfectly setting up the contents in the box, the abundance of styrofoam, the zip ties holding it all together, everything was perfect; I almost felt bad about taking it apart to assemble.
Heck, the screws were in their own little cute package, organized and labeled, not just tossed into a cheap bag like I’m accustomed to. They even gave me a cute little ratchet to make assembly easier! Not just an allen key, which it did come with if I recall correctly, but a little ratchet too, holy smokes! And little cute thank you cards? Amazing!
This, my friends, is a company that CARES. Not just about the product quality it self, but about its presentation, despite the extra costs in throwing in the little ratchet tool and the extra care in packaging. I mean really, how many companies can you think of that go to these lengths when selling affordable items?
Oh, you wanted to know how the desk is? I have no idea, I haven’t used it yet. After assembly, which literally took less than 5 minutes after taking everything out of the box (no lie – I doubt I hit 5 minutes in assembly time), I rushed down to slap this review together. Assembly is set up in a way where even a blind drunk lethargic chimpanzee can put this together with no effort, so heck, even I managed to do it.
Desk it self feels sturdy, I bought it for my PC and monitors, I’m sure it’ll be fine. There’s enough reviews on here gushing about how great the quality of the desk feels, for the cost especially.

Edit: I’ve been using the desk for a couple of days now, it’s perfect. Holds 2 monitors with a little extra space on the side. Very sturdy, no rocking or anything. Best desk I’ve had in terms of height, I can actually rest my arms on my office chair’s arm rests while using the mouse comfortably, may sound weird but I’ve never had a desk I could do that with. All around a great quality product, with an amazing price. Strongly recommended.
