This should have been a piece of cake to assemble, but it was NOT! I can put together anything and I do, but this was nothing but a pain in the butt. There’s no way anyone except a weight lifter can use the included tool to put in the screws. Why? Mainly because the pre-drilled holes are NOT the correct size! I tried using different screws that I have on hand, but that didn’t work. So I had to dig around and finally found a 7/32 drill bit (which I’m sure most people have just lying around—NOT—and 1/4 is too big, just FYI). The only thing I’m happy about is that after I finally finished putting it together, it stands straight and doesn’t wobble. As someone previously stated, the finish was poorly done, but passable. This may have been worth paying $20 for, but not over twice that, which is what I paid. It IS larger than expected, but I don’t have a problem with that plus it will fit nicely against the wall which is what I was looking for. So buy this with extreme caution and note all the problems. Good luck!

This was very easy to assemble with a little elbow grease as one of the bars did not line up exactly. It is larger than I thought but holds my weighted blanket and two comforters easily. Very nice and would recommend to a friend.

Really appreciate how easy it went together and how nicely finished and built. Went together in minutes, predrilled holes were bang on and the allan key required was perfectly easy. Would recommend and would buy again if I ever collect enough blankets to require a second.

After my old quilt rack (also an assembly-required piece) finally reached the point where it could no longer be glued back together, I broke down and ordered this as a replacement. This rack is a little bigger than my old one, and it’s a lot sturdier. It’s reasonably attractive – very basic design but your quilts cover most of it, so who cares? It was very easy to assemble, although if you have your own Allen wrench that is somewhat ergonomic, that will certainly help. I also recommend using a rubber mallet to secure the plugs over the screw heads. This rack holds my two heavy quilts very securely. I’m sure it’s going to last a very long time. I’m very pleased!

Do not buy this. I would give it zero stars if possible. Poor materials, poor quality, poor design, not easy to assemble. For instance, the instructions say that using the included Allan wrench you are to screw the screws through the end pieces into the rods that contain pre-made holes where the screws can anchor in and hold the pieces together. Out of all the holes in the rods, each rod having holes at both ends, only two were sufficiently created that allowed a screw to be inserted. The rest of the screws were stripped in my attempts to use the Allan wrench—literally the dumbest tool to use when trying to put furniture together. Why not just include real screws that require the purchaser to use a Phillips or a flat-head screwdriver? I’ve assembled a lot of furniture before, including IKEA pieces and prepackaged assemble-it-yourself pieces from stores like Menards and Lowe’s. I’ve never experienced the lack of quality like this stupid quilt rack. A waste of money and time spent trying to assemble it. I broke it apart after the fourth screw was stripped in my attempts to assemble this POS and I threw the pieces into our campfire. That was the most satisfying moment that came from this terrible purchase.

It did take two of us to put it together the two bars in the middle that do not have screws that go into it are a little difficult to keep in place while you’re getting the rest screwed in there was two of us and we had to put together within 10 minutes and it’s very sturdy and looks wonderful it’s also half the price of Wayfarers identical one

I really wanted to love this blanket rack. It is replacing an old brass one that I decided to donate. I decided to go with a warm wood this time around. The color is a nice walnut. This rack would have been lovely except for some definite flaws.
First, the wood itself had several blemishes. I’m not talking small blemishes either. It should have never passed quality control. Second, it was a bit of a challenge to put together. The pre-drilled, pilot holes should have been larger & deeper. My wrists are still aching from using the Allen wrench and twisting the screws into the wood. Finally, once I finally got it all put together it wobbled and is unbalanced. Now, I’ve put together a lot of kit furniture, and have helped my husband on many a home remodel project, so I’m not unqualified. However, in retrospect, I probably should have grabbed my drill instead of following their directions. I got lazy there, BUT I shouldn’t have to do this.
The last thing I wanted to point out–and this is not included as part of my 2-star review–is that the rack is bigger than I expected. I should have paid more attention to the dimensions. On the flip side, those wanting to hang heavier quilts and comforters will find this a sturdy (but wobbly) rack. I have relocated it because it is too large for the space I planned on putting it. Again, this was my fault for not paying more attention and that has no bearing on my review. Just a footnote for your consideration.
Overall, for the price, I decided it wasn’t worth taking it apart and returning it. Since it is now located in a spare room and not in my living room where I intended to put it—I’m not going to worry about its shortcomings.

It’s beautiful. But I find it bulky and in the way.

Very Sturdy and lots of room for bulkier blankets/comforters. We did notice that some of holes did not line up perfectly and that made it bit tougher to screw together. Does require two people to put this together but the assembly was very quick. Overall Im very happy with this purchase.

This was very hard after the first several rotations with the included allen wrench. So to make the whole job way easier grab a grippy gardening glove to hold the dowel and prevent it from rotating (and rotating your skin on your palms right off) and grap a multi-allen wrench with thick rubber/soft silicon sides so you can grab, hold, and easily turn it. It was pretty hard on my hand using that skimpy single allen wrench. But once done this way it is very steady and hopefully won’t wiggle loose, the screws are pretty large for the pre drilled holes in the dowels.

The rack once assemble looks OK. We had a hard time to screw in the nails for the bars to hold in place. , it would not turn. husband had to use a drill to drill the nails in. The little pieces to hide the nails keeps falling off. Will have to glue them in. Not sturdy. Overprice .
