I have read a lot of reviews on this unit and not many were satisfactory to me. i purchased and installed this unit in minutes at home and worked perfect. NEVER lost reception in a week. moved rv to campground and set up in minutes Never lost reception for the whole week were were there only time was signal loss for few minutes during thunder and lightning storm that passed through. the unit picked up reception within couple minutes with no problem. We love it.

This was our use of Dish, it was not smooth as the commercial would lead you to believe. The biggest issue is the initial placement and direction of the dish. The instructions say point towards the southern sky. The unit is round, one tech said point the handle north, one said point the spot where the cable connects north, neither worked. not being one to give up after 3 days and 7 calls to tech support failed, I spent the after noon rotating it 2 inches at a time until it worked. The handle was not even close to facing north. Once it got signal it worked fine. Message to Dish/Winegard: PUT A STICKER OR SOMETHING THAT SAYS POINT SOUTH OR THIS SIDE SOUTH, MAYBE AN ARROW. Also in the instructions there is no mention of which area on the dish goes south.

I bought for my RV but was disappointed when I received it and Dish informed me it wouldn’t work when hooked up to the coax cable system on my RV. It could only be hooked up to one independent tv, and the cable has to run through a window or door, or rewire my RV! Funny, it’s a 2015 and the coax cable system isn’t compatible!

I purchased this antenna to replace a King model that we bought when we purchased Dish Service. We are a full-time RV couple. Predictably the King did survive the fall from our roof caused by sustained 25+ mph winds. So, the cost, which is competitive with the King is tuition (I failed to appreciate what could happen to an unsecured antenna on the roof – so I pass this along for others.). The King was under a year old, but prior to its demised had developed difficulty in changing channels when changing satellites. The Winegard seems to provide a somewhat clearer picture and has provided programming during times of intense rain beyond what the King provided. The Winegard did lose the signal eventually as the storm passed through. For now, I’m keeping it on the ground while considering the tripod.

My husband and I bought this Playmaker for our motorhome. It worked one time. I tried to get Winegard to repair it. Winegard gave me the phone numbers of 3 businesses in my zipcode that could repair it. I called both, neither of them was a repair facility. I then received the phone number of a large business, Camper World. They said they sold them but did not repair.
We spent close to $300 on a product with no viable warranty or solution to technical problems. BEWARE!!

Sets up quickly, just point the front to the south. It takes the dish about 20 minutes to align the more north you travel in the US and Canada.
