I bought the DISH model 722k DVR receiver last fall. It has worked nearly perfectly ever since.
The DVR itself seems to work fine, the only complaint I have about it is the OTA Tuner that I had purchased for it (the OTA Tuner is NOT supplied with the Dish 722 model) from Amazon, is an inferior product compared with the OTA Tuner that came with my Dish model 622 DVR. The OTA Tuner takes longer to tune in the local digital channels (it does find them all during setup) and has trouble keeping a lock on the channel as the signal comes and goes. When the local channel does come in, it shows a signal strengh in the 80’s and 90’s depending on which channel. I am not sure whether this is due to the OTA Tuner or the 722k DVR. My Sony TV and 622 DVR have no problems with any of these local channels, it is only the 722k DVR with the OTA Tuner option that has problems. For me, it is not a deal breaker though since I have the 622 DVR that I can use for the consistent OTA channel recording/viewing.
In any case, my review of the Dish 722k DVR is very positive and if you have a need for the OTA Tuner, please take this additional into consideration.
NOTE: For the Dish 722k DVR, the OTA Tuner model to use, as I recall, is the OTA2 Tuner for a Dish DVR. I bought my through Amazon a while back, but I think they are still available for purchase.

Update – just tried to watch some recorded programs, and everything is gone except today’s recordings – unplugged to reset and no difference – very disappointed!!!!!!
Actually are VIP722K, so have much more recording capacity. Didn’t want a hopper, and knew our old 722 would quit eventually, so finally found 2 722K’s at a reasonable price. HD picture is great, remote 2 picture is very good. Very happy with these receivers, although I’ve only hooked up one so far. Our old receiver still works, so now have 2 receivers operational.

I have used this product, Dish 722k for many years. Have loved them. Mine died so I purchased this refurbished product from Prime Electronics. I received it August 7 2020. It started giving me problems with DVR and other things the beginning of December 2020. Finally died completely December 20, 2020. Cannot return as window is only 30 days. At the price they charge the warranty should at least last a year.

Disconnected the old receiver and installed the new one. (Make sure HDMI cable is connected and the tv input is configured to the correct HDMI port) Turned on and it started to download right away. It automatically went through steps 1 through 5. Called Dishnetwork tech and gave them the receiver number and smart card number for step 6. In a few minutes the receiver started to download signal and program guide. Local channels too. Works just fine.

Product was packaged well and came with 2 remotes. When I called dish to activate, one remote did not work properly. Called seller and we got it set up with no issues. He did offer a new remote if I had any problems. Shipped quickly. Seller was pleasant to work with.
