USB C Hub, MacBook Pro Adapter with 4K HDMI, Thunderbolt 3 100W Power Delivery Port, USB C 5Gbps Data Port,SD/TF Card Reader,2 USB 3.0 Ports…

I use this with a MacBook Pro 2019 and it’s good. The big advantage over my other multipurpose hub for me is when I’m using the MacBook on riser: it plugs directly into the two USB ports in one side rather than dangling on a short cable, which surely puts strain on it.

It has three significant disadvantages. First, it has no headphone port so if you need to use headphones or, as in my case, a microphone, it can only be used on the left side of the MacBook as it blocks the headphone port on the right.

Second, the USB ports do not deliver enough power to charge up a phone (except extremely slowly).

Third, it’s not possible to charge the MacBook via the USB-C port on the hub

My other hub can deliver 2.5A, has a headphone/mic port, and allows the MacBook to be charged via its USB-C port. I like the neatness of this one and the fact that it doesn’t dangle, but when I use the MacBook flat on a table rather than on the riser, The other one wins hands down.

 Putting this out there for other M1 users – company should specify this in their product description! I wasn’t sure – even though it says works with 2020 MacBooks, there are non M1 MacBooks still being released and the different chip makes for justifiable doubt as to whether this product or it’s drivers (it actually doesn’t need any drivers!) would work on M1.

It does get a slightly warm as others have mentioned, but I’ve not managed to make it get hot to touch. Probably not a real concern for most use. I could see a bunch of power hungry devices charging off your computer causing this issue but you really should be using wall power for those.

I especially like the attention to detail that you can remove it from the computer by levering it from the black end against the middle of the computer. The USB-C will gently pop out

I wish I could rate this zero stars. This must have had some type of malware in it. I bought this so I could plug my portable hard drive into my MacBook Air since my old adapter got misplaced. Once I plugged it in, my computer started freezing and wouldn’t let me shut down or eject my hard drive. After unplugging the hard drive from my laptop, everything went back to normal like nothing had happened at all. I asked my husband to try it with his laptop to see if he had the same issue, and it did. My hard drive now doesn’t work at all (after buying an adapter today directly from Apple), and I have now lost all my back up from my photography business. Its super upsetting to know that I will never have ANY of my past client photos. Definitely returning this piece of crap and hope to hear back from the seller on how they plan to make it up to me.

Acheté cet adaptateur pour un MacBook Air (M1). J’avais un autre adaptateur Zmuipng, mais lié à un fil et ça pendouillait dans le vide et j’avais l’impression que ça allait endommager le prot sur le MacBook Air. C’est vraiment plus beau comme ça, solide, plus facile d’accès. J’ai un moniteur 4 k en HDMI lié à cet adaptateur et ça fonctionne vraiment bien. La construction est solide, et ça reste dans le style de l’ordi. Très satisfait de mon achat !

I was planning on using this hub as a makeshift dock for at home use with my MacBook Pro, mostly so I could connect the HDMI up to my TV for working with videos and the like.

Unfortunately, after one run of successful use the HDMI port has completely died with no intent of working. I have swapped cables, swapped ports on the TV. Nothing has successfully worked. I have also restarted the MacBook numerous times to get the adapter to recognize the HDMI port. Nothing successful. I currently have my laptop cooling fan plugged into one of the USB 3.1’s, a thumbdrive in the other 3.1, nothing in the memory card slots, a Samsung T5 portable SSD (Highly recommend for running VM’s by the way), and the charging cable that came with the MacBook.

All in all, if the one feature I actually want/need to use doesn’t work, then this item is worthless to me. I’d like to return it, but I’ve already gotten rid of the box and packaging that came with it. You know, COVID-19 pandemic and all that.

If you’re looking for an HDMI output product, do not buy this one.

**Update 28 June 2020

After approximately 3 months of daily use without the HDMI output, I can say that both USB ports have now failed to do anything more than power external devices. USB thumb drives no longer register as being connected.

So, out of all the ports, the only ones left functional are the SD card slots, and the 2x USB C ports.

Highly highly disappointing product.

It’s a great adapter for an attachment for my MacBook Pro w/Touch Bar/ID.
The only small fault is that it’s not able to be flushly attached with my laptop protective case, I have to take off the bottom half to make it flush against the computer.
Other than that, with this, it saves me the hassle of having to purchase an extra cable chargers for my External SuperDrive and my iOS devices. Having a slot for the SD Card Reader is truly a brilliant addition.
It feels like I’m still using my previous MacBook Pro. This adapter is the perfect size to carry with in my computer bag. Sleek, surprisingly small, and not bulky.
Worth the purchase and the price.
