I purchased this knob after I couldn’t find a way to use the original knob that had become loose after its threads slipped. I tried to put a metal insert into the original knob so that I would be able to use it again. But when drilling a hole in the old knob, the bakelite chipped, making it useless. This knob looks just like my original knob and is a perfect fit for my glass lid. I saved $60 by purchasing this knob.

Nothing to dislike… the product is solid, high-quality Bakelite, and looks and performs well. Installation was simple. I had to shorten the included screw a little in my application, but that was easily accomplished with a Dremel and a simple cut-off wheel. I could not have asked for a better solution for the money. I am changing several other pan lids to match this one. Thanks!

We cannot believe how sturdy this knob is compared to the OEM chintzy plastic knob that shattered after about a half-dozen uses. In the photos below I show the broken OEM knob that I initially tried to super glue but soon realized it was a futile attempt and was probably not going to be safe.
So far, this new knob is very impressive. Time will tell.

I needed to replace the lid on my smaller crock pot as the original had begun to deteriorate and cracked making it useless to use. I priced the option of replacing the entire crock pot with a new one but as often as I really use it, didn’t find that to be cost effective as the crock pot still worked great and the glass lid itself was in good condition…just a broken lid handle. I saw this on Amazon and it was made for my exact crock pot so I ordered. It was delivered in a timely fashion but unfortunately I was unable to get the old broken handle off the glass lid since the screw was stripped and there was no way to grasp any part without risk to breaking the glass lid itself. Therefore I had to return the new replacement knob and was able to locate a replacement lid through other means. My suggestion would be to get the knob you are replacing off before ordering this one just to make sure you are able to swap out. Otherwise you will be in the same dilemma that I had (I noted that a few others had commented the same) and would not be able to use this replacement knob. This replacement lid knob appeared to be good quality and was the exact size as what I was trying to replace, so if it works for you, I would recommend. Although I couldn’t use it, I felt that it was worthy of 5 stars just the same.
