And yes, you need one this big. It’s huge. The photo is of a 5.5 pound roaster, so the fryer is large, but the extra space is really nice and at this price point totally worth the money! The fryer is easy to use. Not much of a learning curve at all. It cooks beautifully and the food tastes terrific. Storing it is a bit of a challenge, kinda big for a cabinet, but it fits on a shelf of my microwave cart. It’s on the heavy-ish side for carrying it too much around the kitchen, so I just roll the cart around, instead. They sent a note for a gift card entry if you write a review, just so you know, but I would give it 5 stars regardless. Love this thing!

I just got my Ultrean 8.5 qt today … and I love it already. I made Teriyaki Salmon and Fries tonight … and they were great. The Salmon tasted as good if not better than a restaurant, and the fries were perfect.
I have to tell you I did a lot of research before deciding on this one. I was a little concerned that it would be too big … but it’s not. It is big … but in a good way. I have placed it in the corner of my counter, and it fits under my cupboards, no problem. I also put it beside my large 8 qt. Instant Pot, so that you can really see the size of it. On my other pics, I have place baking pans with their size noted, so you get an idea of how large the basket is. The measurements on the Amazon page, I think, are a little off. Their overall measurements scared me a little. 18.31 D x 14.02 W x 15.25 H. Let me give you the measurements I took. The Depth & Width are about 13″ and the height is just over 15″. If you measure the depth right to the tip of the handle, then I would say it’s 15.25″ … but not 18.31 D. The INSIDE of the basket is .. 10.75 D x 10 W x 5.25 H.
I hope these measurements help those of you that are not sure about the size. This would be a wonderful size for a family. We are only 2, but I wanted a large basket, and this is perfect. I often have my children and grandchildren over, so the bigger, the better. I wish I could find accessories that were larger than the standard 8″ and that would be a better fit for this large size basket.
This product looks sturdy and well made. Yes, I only got it today, but I’m beyond impressed. As always, I will update my review if there are any issues, but I am hopeful there won’t be.
Update: After 1 week of using it almost every day … I have to say that it cleans beautifully … and easily.

The product is good overall. We needed a large one for our family, and it is good at cooking portions for 6-8 people. We’ve been using it for 3 days and it’s cooked the food (chicken drumsticks, wings, panko-breaded shrimp, vegetables, fries, onion rings, salmon) very evenly. The cookbook is helpful, and figuring out cooking time for other items was straightforward. One issue we’ve had is that it’s difficult to close the product. Additionally, even when there’s no food in the basket, it doesn’t close fully (see picture above). The plastic sticks out on one side. It hasn’t impacted the cooking, but it is concerning and has made it difficult to close the fryer on a couple occasions (we have to line it up perfectly). We’re not sure if it’s usually difficult to close, or if it’s the slightly misshapen plastic that’s affecting it. However, we are happy with the purchase. If anything changes, we’ll try to update this review.

I debated back and fourth whether or not to pay a little more for the bigger air fryer and I am so glad I did! It’s perfect for making large portions (4 persons plus leftovers) which is helpful for me as I often meal prep each week. I’ve taken a picture of an average soccer ball for comparison. It also is a huge time saver because things that would take 30+ minutes in the oven only take 10 minutes or so, not to mention, it only takes 3 minutes to preheat!!

I have had my air fryer a few weeks now. I have cooked: fried chicken, fried zucchini, a whole chicken, and salmon. While I’m not using it for every meal and I do keep it in the cupboard when not in use, I am very much enjoying it and have many other recipes slated to try. I am fortunate it fits in my pantry on the top shelf. This thing is BIG!!! But that’s just what I wanted. I read about too many people buying a second one because the first one they bought was too small. I don’t see that happening with this one. As an aside, I was offered a free single waffle iron after registering. I’m not sure if this was some sort of gimmick to get me to leave a positive review or something, but I didn’t go for it because I already have a waffle iron. Anyway, my review is unprompted and I didn’t receive any compensation, although I will mention that the product registration link takes you to FB messenger and you register via that. I have never registered a product that way before so it was a little odd, but it worked and was efficient.
PROS:
1) Enormous. The 5 pound chicken I put in the thing looked tiny with all the extra space I had around it. I probably could have cooked two of them (front and back).
2) Easy to use controls (I haven’t used any of the presets yet. I just use temp and time)
3) Good length cord
4) Heats up fast
5) Deep…plenty of room to use my little rack for a second layer.
6) No issue with steam or heat burning you when you open the basket. Just open it slowly to allow the air circulation to stop.
7) Warranty if you register
CONS:
1) There aren’t any racks available for sale that are big enough to create a full-sized second tier of cooking. I bought the biggest one I could find to add a second layer of cooking and the thing has inches of room on all sides.
ADVICE:
1) I read so many reviews for so many air fryers about the nonstick coating coming off. I also read that something in cooking spray may be contributing to this problem so I am not using it on the surface of mine. It’s unnecessary actually, just spray the item you are cooking with the spray, or use an oil sprayer so you’re coating it, just not with an aerosol spray.
2) It is so easy to clean, I just wash mine with a soft sponge. It truly is not worth running it through the dishwasher, especially since the thing is so darned big, you won’t be able to fit much more on the rack than that!
3) I have read (admittedly rarely) that the heat on the underside of air fryers has been known to occasionally crack granite countertops. I am not taking any chances. I have been using mine on top of my unheated stove which is built to withstand direct heat. I haven’t decided yet what to do when I need to use my stove while using the air fryer, but I will come up with a solution. Perhaps I am being overly cautious, but the counter is too valuable to take a chance.

I was always hesitant to buy air fryer because my friends kept telling me the taste would be different, but man I was wrong this ultrean Air Fryer did not disappoint the taste of the variety of recipes that I made were similar or better than frying it with oil. and the quality of the material is top notch, it made me feel I am wealthy and it is huge. I like staring at my air fryer, it’s looks really good. easy cleaning and healthy cooking for me! yay!

I had been wanting to buy an air fryer for the longest time, but my husband was very skeptical and didn’t want one. Well I bit the bullet and started researching them. I ultimately decided on the Ultrean because of the stellar reviews and the price for the quart size. I need to feed a family of 4 so in this case, size matters. This machine does NOT disappoint!! Since it arrived I have used it everyday! I have made steak fries, asparagus, FROZEN chicken (YES YOU CAN!), lamb tips, and spaghetti squash. I am also having so much fun trying new recipes too! Another thing is how this saves time! In a house with two kids and three dogs, life can be chaotic. Being able to cook in a little over half the time, makes this a completely worthwhile purchase! Oh, and my husband told me he’s happy I bought it and that he loves it too! Buy it! You won’t regret it!

This air fryer is very large, which I like. First meal cooked in it was panko crusted chicken tenders with waffle fries. 15 minutes on 400 degree setting and the tenders crisped up nicely and were literally as moist as chick-fil-a’s and we weren’t able to discern a difference between the fries (we air fried frozen fries instead of fresh cut which crisp up better in my experience). My wife was quite impressed as well and we now have a new cheat meal for Friday nights — chick-fil-a at home w/ half the fat!
The fryer is big enough that I was able to cook more than enough tenders and fries for the boys in 1 basket. But I had to repeat the process again for my wife and myself which meant that we weren’t all eating at the same time. Just ordered a 2nd one to solve that problem. Fries in 1 and tenders in the other and we’re all good in 15 minutes. If you’re cooking for a family, I don’t see a reason to get a fryer smaller than this one. Size equals cooking space so I picked this fryer and couldn’t be happier. Go big or go home in my opinion.
But that leads to the counter space issue that many are mentioning. I posted a picture next to a large toaster for reference on the size. Did I mention that this thing is huge? Now I have 2 of them. Not a big deal for us — the garage isn’t far from the kitchen so we’ll just bring it out when needed. But if you don’t have a place to store this thing, it should factor into your decision to purchase.

Was on a hunt for a new air fryer with a capacity to cook a whole chicken. Not only did this cook the most amazing tasting chicken that was so moist, it did it in even less time than the guide! I have been using this air fryer daily since it arrived and I am more and more surprised by the quality of food from this. I even ordered the accessories package and have done a cake in it!

The company would not allow me to register the product because it was bought from Amazon and not directly through them. This is the only company that I know that would do this. Don’t be misled by the warranty because it means absolutely nothing. They will not honour it.

Just got this unit today and did the French fry test. Thicker cut krinkle fries for 15 minutes and I shook them halfway. Turned out golden brown and fluffy inside. Perfect. Made fried chicken thighs for dinner. Followed the recipe from the recipe book. 380 degrees for 25 minutes flipped halfway. I used 1/4 cup of oil in total to coat the front and back of each piece before putting them in the basket. Skin side down for 13 minutes then flipped and did another 12. They looked exactly like I had fried them on the stove. I fit 7 chicken thighs in the basket at one time not too crowded. Only the first day but I think for the price this machine is awesome.
