I really can’t fault this device; it was purchased for a car-pc project that was originally going to use a Raspberry PI, with which it worked fine.
However I’ve ended up going for an Android-based solution instead, and to my surprise it works great here as well.
In my test setup, it’s connected to a (Sony XA1) phone via a (also UGREEN) type-C to type-A adapter cable. When plugged in, the phone immediately switches to the external sound card and plays back audio through it (and impressively, records from the microphone port as well). The quality appears to be absolutely fine, with no noticeable noise.
I’m using the Beyerdynamic Custom Headset Gear (2nd Gen) in conjunction with the Philips Fidelio X2 to test this. The microphone output is very clean when played back; although could do with more gain. As far as I’m aware there is no way to adjust microphone gain in Android, so I suspect performance will be very dependant on the particular microphone you use. The Beyerdynamic boom microphone seems to be at just about the right level.

This product straight up doesn’t work properly, and it’s not the first sound card I’ve bought off amazon either. Both products (the other one being the still popular Techrise sound card) have the same issue, which is that the microphone jack doesn’t work to an at all functional level. The computer will recognise a microphone but you literally have to yell into it for it to register the fainted sound, making it completely unusable. The audio output works fine, but If I just wanted audio out I would have bought something else. I think its ridiculous that such products are out there and sold as top rated products on Amazon when they are straight up not fit for purpose, this wasn’t even that cheap for what it is (I payed £11, which seems about right for a good quality adaptor), I will be returning this and I advise anyone else to stay well away in general. If you really want a good usb sound card that works either use a high end product (like a HyperX one, I actually already had an old one lying around) or try aliexpress (will probably be cheaper too).

The audio sounds way better than my onboard, but the microphone jack is unusable. The volume is VERY low (I set it to 100% in the control panel), but worse yet there is a constant tapping noise which I seem to be unable to get rid of. This does not happen with my onboard soundcard.
Disappointed.

So this thing does the job. Bypasses broken or crappy onboard sound and works for PS4 too. It’ll power basic headphones just fine but the quality isn’t anything spectacular; you may want to consider a proper separate dac/amplifier setup like the Fx Audio X6 or SMSL SAP if you care about audio quality a lot.
I bought this to connect my modmic to my PS4 directly instead of using the controller in hopes it would improve clarity. It works, but there’s an annoying buzzing sound when I hear played back recordings or even just a quick test in the settings menu. The controller has less hiss/noise than this thing which is pretty disappointing.

Perfect for boosting the gain of an external microphone such as the
Antlion Audio ModMic 5 Modular Attachable Boom Microphone
without increasing the background noise excessively like my onboard audio did. In particular, this product performed exceptionally better than
Syba USB Audio Adaptor
which I had to refund because of how little of an improvement was felt.
After getting this device I recommend the following settings on Windows 10 for a more consistent sound:
Under the “Custom” tab in recording devices, disable “AGC” (Audio Gain Control). This feature automatically increases and decreases the volume to create a stable output. IMO this is better leaving up to the particular application if needed, for example Discord can perform this far better on it’s own than with assistance. Under “Levels” set volume to 100.
After doing these two steps my volume was pretty good after being boosted (Discord), but for games that didn’t support AGC was still a tad quiet, to increase the gain precisely I followed ModMic’s guide on “What to do if your ModMic is too quiet”, specifically using a gain of 7.00 dB myself. Finally, ensure that Echo, Noise and AGC are on under Discord Advanced Voice processing settings if you are using it.

The first adapter I received worked but I kept hearing glitches in the sound which was very annoying. I was going to send it back to Amazon but UGREEN customer support contacted me to find out what was wrong with the adapter. After a few tests, we agreed that the adapter was faulty. UGREEN responded quickly and promptly sent me a new adapter. I confirm that the new adapter works great. This is not my first UGREEN product and I never had any problems before. UGREEN makes excellent products and I can now say that their customer service is top-notch. Thank you very much UGREEN and looking forward to buying more of your excellent products in the future. Well done.

I’ve used this UGREEN USB audio adapter for over 2 months now. I needed a new USB audio adapter to replace my old Sennheiser USB audio adapter that started to have its cables fray.
I prefer to use a USB audio adapter with PC because the built-in mic jack for PCs in general tend to have a lot of interference. The sound quality of recordings from USB audio adapters tends to be much better, less background noise, and they also give you extra audio and mic devices on your computer, because USB audio adapters are essentially USB sound cards. Being able to output audio to multiple different devices can also be very useful (such as using headphones over earbuds at the same time, to clearly hear and differentiate multiple audio streams at once).
Comparing this UGREEN USB adapter to my old Sennheiser USB audio adapter, they’re about the same in terms of audio and recording quality. The build quality of the UGREEN adapter is pretty good, and probably better than my Sennheiser adapter. I don’t think the cable for this UGREEN adapter would fray as easily.
Another factor is that various other USB audio adapters do not use wired dongles, however, this often creates issues where it blocks your other ports, or you cannot get it to plug in correctly (due to being physically blocked). I find that USB adapters with wired dongles tend to be a lot more practical in actual usage. This UGREEN adapter doesn’t have any of these issues.
I think that overall, this UGREEN USB adapter is fairly simple, designed well, and works well.

I got this for better audio when making video calls for family and work. With a high quality headset I plugged in the headphone jack and the sound was good, though not very discernable from my on-board sound card. When I plugged in my mic jack, it was terrible. Very low volume, even with the mic gain cranked and lots of noise. Unusable for the application I thought it was designed for. Returned.

There is not much to dislike. Just plug the component into a USB slot in a PC or laptop, and the computer will recognize it and functions perfectly. I am very much happy with its performance. It is everything that the vendor claimed in the Amazon description. High performance at a very reasonable price. What else to ask? Highly recommended.

I originally ordered the Creative SoundBlaster USB DAC and had some issues with it, so I decided to give this one a go. Unfortunately it is worse than the Creative product.
1. Sound Quality: The output is plenty loud enough, but I was experiencing lots of popping, crackling, distortion, clipping and stuttering. I suspect this is due to the generic USB audio driver being used here, there’s no specific driver it needs so it’s just plug and play which can be a good thing, but in this case it wasn’t playing well with my USBs.
2. Mic Quality: Awful, just horrible. I have a mono mic on my headset with the correct 3.5 TRS connector as described, but the mic sounds terrible. It’s completely unusable.
I have decided to bite the bullet and get a sound card. This product will work alright if you just need to power some headphones through usb, but don’t bother to buy it if you are serious about any sort of quality audio or you want to use the a mic.

I only use it to connect my headset to my laptop since it doesn’t have those correct colour ports but it worked perfectly. Just gotta make sure you set your output and input to the USB dongle and you’re gucci. Even though I used it for just that, it worked phenomenally like no problems whatsoever. 15 bucks though? Hmm could be a few dollars cheaper imo but I know, you gotta make money but like in a perfect world, I think like $10-12 is good :/

I was using an older computer for live streaming with OBS and the audio had a huge amount of noise at the bottom end. I could not figure out what the problem was so I thought I would by pass the internal sound card after trying a boat load of other things first. This unit was cheap enough that I didn’t mind using it to test this theory. It worked, the sound is much cleaner now!
