Shipped quickly and works as advertised for my light Galaxy S3 (yes it’s an old phone). If you have a small/light phone, this’ll work just fine. There is one issue you need to be aware of: the connector to your air vent is round, which takes up the space between the vent slots above and below the connector. This means that the mount is more stable, but comes at a cost… you cannot move the air vent up, down, left or right. The vent becomes fixed in place. Honestly, that’s not even a problem, just be aware. Product has worked fine so far (2 months use every other day). I do not expect a long lifetime with product based on other reviews, but product shows no indication of wear

Used to have a magnetic vent holder for my phone before, but it had a slight negative: I had to put a metal plate inside my phone case, which tended to shift around as the phone was used, and also prevented me from using transparent phone cases. This car mount solved the problem: it removed the need for the plate, and in general it felt more solid. Very happy with the purchase!

Two points on this:
1. It failed to hold my S6 well as the clearance between the prongs attaching to the vent blades and the phone-back were so small that it wouldn’t fit. It also required you to unmount, stretch open, place phone in, and then remount to vent every time you used it. Inconvenient.
2. It is available on other outlets, and even in local stores, for 3-4$…
I would NOT recommend this item.

I purchased this product Oct.2017, and for the better part of a year it was great. – The clip onto the vent was pretty secure, only jostling a bit on rougher roads. – It was easy to attach/release my phone and held my phone snugly while in use. – The rotation on the device was stiff enough to hold it at any angle without being too difficult to rotate.
Then at some point in the last couple months it decided to become a toy propellor. It no longer holds the phone in any position other than that of least resistance (i.e. heaviest part pointing down). Considering my phone has buttons at its centre-line and above, the clip gets top-heavy and flips the phone upside down. I can freely spin this thing without any resistance.
That being said, I got a good year of use out of it before anything happened, and my experience may not be the same as yours. For the price you can’t complain. 1st year rating: 4.3 stars 2nd year and beyond: 1 star

Definitely works as advertised, but it isn’t for all cars. Honestly I think it depends on where your air vent is on the car. I have a 2011 Subaru Impreza and the air vent in the middle is under the radio/head unit in the car. So when i use this mount with my iphone x, it just flips forward. I think this mount would work well if the air vent is above the radio/head unit of the car. Other than that, you may want to use the CD holder instead of this.

It actually works pretty well. We have a “fancier” phone holder, where the arm that grabs a fin in the air-vent is closed by turning a dial, and it falls out all the time.
This one is rubber, and you just stick it to the vent – cheaper, simpler, holds better. We have smaller iPhones – SE, 5s, etc – but the arm expands.
I’ll likely buy a second for our other vehicle. It’s a big fine to be caught with your phone in your hand, or using navigation if it’s not affixed to the car….

For the price, you will never find a better mount than this. You can buy the ones that glue, but you’ll have stains or residue once you remove it. You can buy the ones that clip onto the windshield, but they will end up falling and leaving marks all over. This mount clips straight onto your air vents, doesn’t take a whole lot of space, doesn’t obstruct much of the air pushing through the vents. You can place it at different locations, the phone won’t ever fall off since the spring used is surprisingly strong. The only issue I can see with a long term use (especially if you have a heavy phone + case) is the vent might start bending if you have thin flimsy vent openings. I have sturdy ones, I have a light phone, I make sure I clip my UGREEN mount on the lowest vent so it also gets supported by the housing case for the vent. It’s just an extra measure I take since I have a lease and I consider long term usage of every product.
Would recommend to everyone out there looking for a proper legal and cheap phone mount.
