Recently spent a month abroad in Thailand and i needed an every day bag that had extra security. This was perfect! When on few night outs on the infamous khao san road or just in cramped areas because of the mass of people i felt more secure thanks to the bags features. Whats great is it looks like a normal everyday handbag! One con would be as a photographer when i had my equipment in the bag the strap would hurt my shoulder due to the weight. Otherwise though this bag is great. I fit quite a bit in there also.

Brilliant bag for travel – holds drink bottle but when no bottle pocket zips away so looks good. Felt very safe with this always hanging in front of me during my travels in India. Locking compartments are quick to fasten and undo. Highly recommend.

I had a baggallini everywhere bag for several years, which I loved . Well-made, lots of pockets . When it finally gave out, I decided I’d like one a little larger. This one is quite a bit larger than the baggallini, and is even better made! Very sturdy and zippers extremely well made. The strap is very strong as well. (The strap is what gave out on my baggallini, and replacement straps aren’t available for those in Canada)
I had to get a wallet .. it’s been years since I’ve used a wallet, but I’m used to it now.
I love this bag.. I’m sure it will last many years. I’m the type of person that owns only one purse and uses it every day.

I purchased this bag for city break trips. I wanted the security features such as re enforced base and shoulder strap plus several internal compartments. The convenience of a pouch for both folded umbrella and water bottle influenced my choice. This bag seemed to be ideal.

However, on the 3rd days of use, the upper dark blue silk lining began to come away from the interior wall in 3 small places along the seam. Within several more openings of the bag, the entire wall had become detached. This resulted in a large “pouch” to form between the exterior wall and the main compartment. Also, loose silk threads became tangled in the zip. Fiddling with this to find things took time and in itself, became a security risk, the thing I wanted to avoid.

This may have been a manufacturing fault but has rendered the bag no longer fit for purpose.

[19/08/18] Update – a full refund has been offered and return is in progress. Thank you Amazon for a very prompt and efficient resolution.

So far so good. Quality of the bag is really good. I’m not a huge fan of the strap but I think you are limited to materials when you are making it cut or slash proof. Lots of pockets both inside and out. So far I have my tablet, phone, 4 passports, all my cards and knick knacks like lipsticks and hand cream in there and it all fits well. Much better size than the old travel purse I was using. Love the water bottle holder. I can put an empty water bottle in it, pass through security then fill it at the fountain without spending a dime. I think I’ll get my monies worth out of this bag. Going to use it Saturday for our next voyage.

I loved all the pocket and zippered sections, especially the holders on the side for bottled water or umbrella. It has room for all kinds of things… small hip wallet/purse or an iPad, This is a great travel purse that is secure for travelers. One suggestion for Travelon — make more slots for credit cards, health card. etc. The lighter colour interior makes it easier to find things, plus the little light is great at night.Unfortunately if you pack too many thing in it then it can get quite heavy but since it’s a cross-body style that you can switch from one side to the other helps with carrying it. I also liked having the different color choices but I selected the black since it works with everything.

I am writing this review after having returned home from using this purse on my 8 day trip; I really loved it at first, so roomy, classic simple look, and the strap extended nice and long for me. I felt very very secure using it. Safety was not my issue at all, but two things ended up annoying me about the bag, which was unfortunate because I would’ve bumped it to a five star rating had it not been for:
    1) the main zipper compartment cannot be opened with one hand even when the locking feature was not in use. I always always needed to use both hands to unzip this bag. Maybe a redundant complaint as the locking mechanism is kind of the point of the purse, however, I had so many instances where I just didn’t have need for that feature and it was a pain having to get in to my bag and not spill my coffee etc.
    2) the shoulder strap was constantly twisting and I found myself unraveling it just about every time I wore it.

In summary, these are just first world problems. I’ll def use the bag on future travels and endure the struggles described above. But be warned!

This is my 2nd Travelon bag, & I have recommended the brand to many people. A substantial sized bag to take on holiday & carry everything you need for a day out, safe in the knowledge that, particularly if worn cross-body, it is about the most secure bag you will find. Travelon seem to have thought of everything, but with this design I really like that there are 2 expanding pockets for water bottles, umbrella etc (my other bag only has one). Also the strap not only extends to a really long length, but is very comfortable & doesn’t dig in to your shoulder or neck, even when you’ve got a lot in it. I will definitely but more from the Travelon range.

I love the compact nature of this bag as an alternative to a pac-safe bag I have. It has RFID features but I can’t attest to how well that feature works or doesn’t work. It’s design has it hugging the body. It is big enough without being too big and has enough pockets to make organizing easy enough. The strap is substantial and very sturdy with a heavy clasp that swivels so the strap doesn’t become twisted. It has contrasting grey interior that makes it easier to find items inside it. Although, more than one compartment in the body of the bag or a center zipper compartment to divide it would be appreciated, as this like every bag can feel like a bottomless pit.

Took this bag on our trip to Costa Rica. I have another smaller travel purse but wanted something which could carry my DSL camera in addition to a cellphone glasses and wallet. The locking feature was great and easy for me to open while wearing the bag crossbody. Only thing missing is a sleeve for a pen. End mesh pockets were great for an umbrella and a water bottle. Material was water repellant in light rain and even loaded up bag was comfortable to carry. Very pleased.

I was excited to find this bag online as I need something for a trip to India and don’t particularly want to carry a day-pack/rucksack. I thought this would be ideal as it looked to be easily accessible while you wear it. When it arrived I thought I’d received the wrong bag as it looked bigger in the photos. Then I realised how skinny the model is! The way that the strap is attached means that the opening is even smaller than the width of the bag which makes things worse. I thought I’d trial it on a weekend to Spain last week, although it wouldn’t occur to me to carry a bag with security features in Europe hardly anywhere. It was a real pain. With my compact camera in it, my wallet and passport, it was hard to take one item out without removing something else. The front pocket has no gussets at the side so, if you unzip it fully, stuff falls out. I got so frustrated that I hardly used my camera as it was such a palaver taking it out and putting it back. If you have stuff in the main section, even if it isn’t crammed full, small water bottles don’t fit fully into the side pockets … unless you take the contents of the bag out first. And my phone’s toughened glass screen protector cracked inside the front pocket so that was just the icing on the cake. There is no way that this will work for India where you have to carry stuff like sanitiser gel, a shawl, wads of cash and loo paper. Back to the drawing board. Not sure what to do with it now as it isn’t even particularly practical for everyday use.
