always worn a baby g just happened to come across this watch on offer for approx. 20 quid, does the same as baby g plus a bit more and waterproof, as I like to wear my watch when swimming (partly due to being short sighted and not being able to see one in pool), it is actually a bit more attractive and not as thick as baby g and is so much easier to programme that I have the correct time on it! very pleased with it!

I looked around for a while for a watch which I could use whilst running (am training for the London Marathon 2013). I already have an ipod with Nike+ sensor which I use and records my distance, time, calories and pace but you can only really assess the splits once you have uploaded the data to the Nike+ website. My ipod does tell me everytime I have completed a mile though, so I use this watch to record and view my splits whilst running. It is perfect, I have tiny wrists and the watch is not too large but the display is still easy to read. The watch was very easy to set and I worked out pretty quickly how to use and then view the splits timer. You can save up to 30 ‘laps’ (although doubt I will ever need that many – 26.2 miles is enough for me!!). I have not yet used it in the ‘dark’ but the display illuminates well. I have found myself wearing this watch just for normal day use when I am not running! For the price, it is perfect…I am toying with the idea of doing a triathalon at some point so am sure it will be great for that as well!

My review is specific to the 30 lap negative display version.
Cut to the chase – the negative display takes some getting used to, it’s really not great for a quick glance HOWEVER it does help the watch look less “digital” and when you do read it you’re putting in a one-second actual effort. You know how sometimes you glace and see the time but you don’t remember it so you glance again and again? Yeah, with the negative display, you have to put in just enough effort to look at the time that you end up knowing it.
The ONLY thing that i wish the watch had is an interval timer – the 50 lap versions do, but this one replaces that with the occasions timer. a fair trade, but ideally i’d have both features in one.
Everything else about the watch is great for daily wear, to the office and on weekends. the size and fit / comfort are perfect (7.75″ wrist), the 3 alarms with separate tones are great, the indiglo is of course awesome, and the top-mount start/split button is WAY better than what casio does.
replacing the battery is the only PITA (pain in the a..) since you have to remove the straps to be able to remove the rear case cover. but that’s really only something you do once every 3 years or so, using a standard CR2025 from any store.
by now i have 6 different ironman watches – one is the 50 lap intervals version which is perfect for HIIT gym stuff – and even though i have 50+ other watches, when i don’t feel like deciding i just grab this gray negative one and head out for my day. the gray actually makes it look less like “oh, a digital watch” from a few feet away. i HATE boring all-black watches, they look so cheap and predictable.

This is a nice looking watch, with a good, clear display. Setting it up, following the little instruction leaflet was easy. Sadly, I had to return the watch because the “2 mode timer” described isn’t actually an interval training timer as I’d hoped – it only allows you to set one countdown timer, and the 2 mode is simply whether you “stop” or “repeat” the timer, which isn’t that useful for the interval session running programme I’m trying to follow.

The first watch they sent was incorrect but I received the proper one within a few days. I ordered the black/ lime face with a gray band which is exactly what I was depicted. It’s real easy to read & the light is fantastic. The band is the best part as the excess strap is held in place with a notched retainer so it doesn’t slip off! Timex is my favorite brand as they are reliable, easy to use & the battery lasts for many years. I don’t bother replacing the battery because the watch face is usually so scratched up it’s time for a new one.

Easy to read display even in low light. Plus it has its own light button. After trying the smart watches for a while I am happy to go “back to basics”. No need to power it up every night, I can swim with it, and I don’t have to turn or shake my wrist to see the time, let alone scroll through the screens until I find what I want. No, it does not count my steps or tell me when I received a text. Wait a second… I have a phone for that 🙂

Got this for £13.44 so very happy with it, but if I had paid the claimed £64.99 SRP I would have been mightily upset.
I have had 5 proper Ironmans – the watch is great but the strap always breaks. At least the strap on this one looks more durable but probably wouldn’t fit a large wrist.
These 30 lap so-called Ironman watches are very poor relations to the proper 50 lap version:
– 20 less laps (at least they tell you this in the description)
– about 2/3rds the size of the 50 lap watch
– the fonts are smaller (still not too small, but not so easy to read as the full-size)
– the chrono only records one session (the 50 lap one can record up to 25 sessions and retains the date of each)
– no interval timer (the 50 lap has 2 intervals that can be set to repeat)
Timex is living off the name of a trusted Ironman brand but failing to deliver.

Bargain of the festive period ( at Today’s Deals price, amyway) this is the watch I have been waiting for.
Quality name and build, it does everything you need with the minimum of fuss.
Not one for reading the instructions? Nor me. But you don’t need to. This is simple as. Easy to set up and use (the only thing I struggled with was setting the day of the week – until I realised it does it automatically)
The Occasion function is new to me. Not sure if I will use it, but it is a good idea.
Loving the colour, the indigo light and the fit. Also the weight – so light you may forget it’s on.
Added to my vast collection of watches for different occasions, this has slotted in nicely to the “work and exercise” slot.

This is a true and tested Timex design with four buttons on side and one in the middle. If it works well don’t fuss with it and Timex did well on it.
The screen is hard to read and I don’t know who designed it and who approved it. Probably none of those folks ever wore the watch. Had I seen it in a store I wouldn’t have bought it. Can’t be bothered to send it back but would not buy it again. Nice design but overall meh, screen is, well, not worth waiting for exchange.

Got this watch for my 10 year old daughter’s birthday – she hasn’t taken it off since! She loves it. Lots of good features. Nice fit for a small wrist. Waterproof (in the shower so far) and she really likes the IndiGlo. Very happy with the purchase.

I have used Ironman watches for 30 years and really like them. This particular version functions just as good as the rest however the display is really dim and hard to read requiring you to use the light just about every time. It is a hassle so I returned it. If Timex offered the same colour watch in the standard display configuration I’d buy it happily.

Pros: Very lightweight; durable; easy to see day of the week, date, and month along with exact time at a glance; sturdy bracelet that does not slide yet does not stick.
Cons: Instructions are not clear and not detailed enough. (How to increase or decrease a function is not too much to ask.) Solution: Trial & Error.
Misc: It looks good, even for a man wearing a woman’s watch (above), The night light is sufficient.
Testing: For the moment, I’m using the factory default for the alarm (too weak) and I will attempt to adjust.
Other: Yes, it has 3 alarms, and a timer/chrono.

Was hoping to get a watertight watch for my fishing / kayaking activities. This is a nice looking, light and comfortable watch. However the dark screen is very difficult to read in bright sunlight. The chrono and other functions are quite complicated and inconsistent with what I have come to expect from other Timex Ironman watches I’ve owed.
