Mrs. M. E. Perrott –
I bought this for my grandson’s 4th birthday as he is taking an interest in telling the time. He was delighted with it. The strap is nice and soft and easily adjustable, and it’s water resistant which is probably important for a young child!

Bought this for my 5 year old daughter. Although the watch looks good and the face is well thought out with different colours for the hour and and minutes, this watch is a huge dispoointement simply because of the super cheap and unless buckle that doesn’t not hold the wrist band tight and in place. Constant ajustements and basically a huge design flaw. I would not recommend.

I’ve bought many of these kinds of watches from Timex before, and I thought they used to light up when you pressed the button in. Maybe they’ve stopped this feature to save money. Anyway, this one definitely doesn’t light up, so not sure my son is going to like it. Further, it arrived already ticking. This means that the battery life is suspect, and my experience with these watches is that they’re basically disposable, as changing a battery that has died is rarely able to make the movement work again: it gets frozen and you’ve wasted the price of the battery. So will probably be returning it as not fit for purpose, but we’ll see what the boy says when it’s in his hands.
UPDATE: No, the boy didn’t like it, and not necessarily because it didn’t light up. He doesn’t like the helicopter second-hand, because he couldn’t tell at which digit it was pointing to, so he couldn’t accurately count seconds for timing things. This seems to be important for a future scientist/chemist who wants accuracy, so we’re sending this one back.

This watch shows not only the hours but also the minutes, and the hour/minute hands match in colour to the corresponding numbers which makes for quick learning on how to tell time.
With some versions of this model the minutes only go up to 30 and then begin counting down on the other half of the watch so kids can learn what phrases like “20 to 5” or “half past twelve” mean. I wanted the more simple version for my beginning learner and it has worked beautifully! My five year old can read an analog clock now!

This was for my grandson’s 5th birthday. From the moment he saw it the watch did not come off his arm until he went into the bath then back on again. He was asking about the time his friends would be round to his party so took an instant interest in TIME and would continually refer to it through out the days following. So yes it was a winner. It has got a few scratches on the glass now but considering his age and the use he gives it, I’m more than happy with its durability.

It isn’t very easy to read because it has such a tiny face.
I was sooooo disappointed.
I would have returned it but the package got damaged in the excitement of opening it.
Timex please do better!!!!
Doesn’t make sense to cough up that much money and all it does is sit on my night stand because it’s hard to read!!!!

The adjustment clip loosens very easily, and does not stay secure, unless you double back on it’s self. The strap is elastic, easy on and off, and very cute. I wish it had a buckle for on and off and have the size adjustment on the ends of the buckle. Love the idea of an elastic band, but a adjustable buckle would be much better. The hands are easily read, and the sweep second hand it the little star fish on the mermaid watch. My daughter loves it. Quality is decent, for the price.

Present for Grandson (4 years old) the strap is Ideal for him to put on and take off and Washable strap to. The stainless steel back to watch us Good for someone with sensitive skin. Only reason for 4 star rating the numbers around the watch face were really small and hard to distinguish, especially as I wanted it as a watch he could learn to tell the time with.

My daughter learned how to tell time in a single day thanks to this watch. The key is that the minute hand and the hour hand are different colours, and they correspond to the minutes and hours as laid out around the clock face. So simple. The watch seems to be made well enough. Time will tell. I’d definitely buy this again.

My Grandson loved his watch. He has only just started to take an interest in the time of day. He now can glance at his watch to try to tell the time. The strap is comfortable for him to wear, easy to remove when washing hands. The dial and hands keep him amused too.

This is our third kids’ Timex watch which stopped working within 1 year – this, within 2 months. It does not keep time at all. The battery is fine. It just “loses time”. I love the adult Timex watches, but the kids’ Timex watches are horrible quality.

This watch, as well as all of the others of this kind made by Timex for children, are great. The band is very comfortable and it is very pretty. Our only complaint is that this is the first one we’ve had that has not had a light on it. With 4 children, we’ve had all different ones, but they’ve always had a light. We would much prefer that there would be a light.

I used to have the purple floral one when I was little so my 6 year daughter was excited to get the same one. Received it today.. it’s a lot cheaper feeling then they used to be back in the day. I don’t like that the seconds go 0-30 then 30-0. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t have it 0-60. Anyways, just my two cents 😆
