This product works as a GPS. In the description of this product it states that it has light and speed camera alerts nither of these features work. Sometimes the GPS takes about 3 minutes to notice that it is connected and the dash cam says GPS connected half way to the store.
Pros;
Super easy install, it takes less than 1 minute to install.
It works as a GPS.
In the recoding your speed shows, its very precise.
Cons
Sometimes has slow connection times about 3 minutes
No light alerts
No speed camera alerts

Plug and play. I had just installed it when I approached an intersection and it warned of a red light camera that I hadn’t seen. It would have paid for itself assuming I ran the light

Very easy –plug & play with the Thinkware F50 model. Plugs right into the side and can be peeled and taped with the provided 3M mounting tape. Mine is hidden up above the front plastic in my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Very quick install requiring no special tools. The device does not cost money each month to use, but provides additional information when plugged into the SD card adapter. The GPS accessory will display your speed and document where you were driving on a map as you are moving. It is a great little bit of information that could save you in many different cases. I would highly recommend this in addition to the Thinkware F50 unit.

For me this is easy to install (ex-mechanic) but for a normal person using the hardwire tactic, all you have to do is find a constant and a keyed positive feed. But has great pic, have this in one of my cars and is perfect. Got another for my truck. So far the best dash cam I have found. Low profile, and for apple and Android, worked flawlessly. I put a 128gb card in them, and was able to track someone down who dinged my fender. Set the g-sensor to low while driving and high when parked

Its a good add on as only the premium Thinkware dash cameras have this built in. I bought 2 for my Thinkware F50 and Thinkware FA200 2Ch dash cameras. The speed accuracy would probably be 97%. I wish the cable was longer although it would probably create interference. It looks like a hockey puck stuck to the windshield, so its not going to be that discreet unless you have a tinted sun strip. Make sure it clicks when plugging it in to the dash camera or else it will come loose and there will be no speed or GPS information transmitted to the dash camera.
4 Stars.

Works like a charm. Suddenly I have correct time, speed and warnings of active red light (intersections) cameras with my (passive) F50 cams, front and rear-facing. This now tells me, when it locks onto the satellites. Not many stores carry this add-on (and it’s almost a necessity if you wanted to actually document an incident to submit to whomever… Insurance companies should certainly welcome the advent of the dashcam and GPS for possible litigation savings.

Sometimes I am almost two miles from my house before the camera reports the GPS is connected. Other times I am in my driveway, just having backed out of the garage. The estimated average is closer to a mile away when it connects. I don’t know if this is a problem with the GPS unit or the camera. Other than that, it works just fine once it connects. Would still recommend this to go with the F200 Thinkware camera.

I’ve been using this for approximately 5-6 months now and it’s been working like a charm. The GPS location and the constant speed notifications are on par with what my odometer is reading. Although I think that THINKWARE is just milking the funds by making this a separate unit, I’d recommend purchasing one if our dash cam doesn’t already come with an internal GPS.

Not really nessesary for the average in town driver. I suppose it’s more for business drivers. It may come in handy in case of an accident for the Adjuster/Lawer. Haven’t been in an accident yet so would not know if it’s useful. It did increase the fun factor of the dashcam by adding more bells and whistles. I bought it anyway and didn’t regret it. Price was low and super easy to install. I would have preferred a suction mount over the sticky 3M tape that it uses.

It’s the year 2021 and they can’t integrate the GPS unit into the dash cam? What’s up with the 8″ cable? RETURNED ALONG WITH THE DASH CAM AND ALL THE ACCESSORIES.

Headline says it all – it plugged into the camera, and the camera tell me that the GPS is connected. It warns of stoplight cameras and other things.
My cavil is that I cannot increase the camera’s volume and I cannot ask it to repeat the warnings. Not a GPS problem.

Fantastic. Very simple to install! If you already have your Thinkware DashCam installed in your vehicle, you’re on your way, just locate it and plug it in. The size of the add-on isn’t an issue in my Sienna. Red light cameras and school zone alerts work great!

I have a Thinkware F200 Pro and it works perfectly fine. Just find the best location in the windshield without any obstruction, it’s definitely plug and play. I’m enjoying the speed camera warning. Definitely worth recommending for any Thinkware dashcam owners.
