Shipping on this item was extremely good, it arrived much before the mentioned date. The packaging is always good from Amazon and this is no different. Even though this is an overseas import, buying from a service like Amazon gives you that confidence in case things turn bad.
The lens is a great go for landscape/nature/family videography and very good on pictures as well, although my main focus is for video. The image is sharp and the auto focus works great with my a7Siii.
The price was very competitive and couldn’t be more happier with my purchase.

I use this lens with Sony A7III. Comparing the price point with a similar Sony lens this has a much better cost benefit.
Quality is good, and Tamron has become a very good viable solution for lenses at this point.
Lens is 2.8 so you may want to get a lighter lens depending on what you want, but to me it is good enough for a wide angle lens.
This is my main lens those days, as it will work well if you are shooting city/landscapes and 28mm will also be fine for something more focused.

Je m’attendais par contre à ce que ça soit plus wide et bien pour le real estate. Mais définitivement une lentille de qualité pour la fraction du prix de la série G master

Me encanta este lente, el enfoque esta rápido y el lente está muy Sharp. Hay distorsión en 17mm pero se puede arreglar fácilmente en lightroom. Lo pongo 4 estrellas porque algo veces le ha costado enfocar a la primera pero unos segundos después enfoca perfectamente. El

I really wanted to like this lens due to its cost, size. I could even get over the limited zoom range ie not as wide or tele as I’d like. But i found the corner sharpness to not be very good on my copy (on a 50mp sensor), even after stopping down to f8. What i found more peculiar is 17mm edge sharpness was poor (even stepped down), but 20mm was especially bad. I was expecting this lens to be decent on the wide end and performing a little worse on the tele end. Maybe i got a bad copy, but i don’t have any of these problems on my current Sigma 14-24 dg dn.

Amazing lens for my Sony A7III! Great for real estate photography, landscapes, and anything else you need an ultra-wide (but not fisheye) zoom lens for.
Aperture is fast, autofocus works wonders, and the build quality is fantastic. I would definitely recommend buying a this lens over Sony’s 16-35mm F2.8 which is more than twice the price of this lens. Use the extra cash to buy the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 instead!
I do wish Tamron had gone with the 16-35mm focal range rather than 17-28mm, but it does make a perfect companion for my Tamron 28-75mm.

my first order had something wrong, so I return to Amazon and re-order a new one.
Fast shipping, takes only 17 hours. I am afraid if I got a used one again, but I think this time is brand new, everything is goodq.
moving on to the quality of the lens. It has a plastic body, so It’s very light for a gimbal
like Zhiyun weebill lab. You gonna love it if you are videographor.
I have Sony A7R4, A7M3 and A6500 body, and 6 sony lenses, 2 sigma lenses. I never used tamron before, so I was little worried about the quality. I took some shots and you can see the photos.
The lens is sharp, auto focus is fast and accurate. The price is the best deal in Canada ( retail price $1399).
I highly recommend this one if you need a wide angle lens, It’s better than my 16
-35mm F4 zeiss.
ps: Amazon has the best customer service, professional, easy going and efficient!

Excellent lens but not packed very well. Shocked how can seller deliver with this kind of packaging for optics/lenses. Inside packaging was broken but somehow the lens survived.
Final verdict on lens: it is great for street and videos but unfortunately, it does not meet stamdards for landscape photography.

I’m slowly completing my trinity combo with the addition of the 17-28mm. I have the 28-70mm from Tamron and it is a great lens as well. The 17-28mm is wide enough for my landscape needs. I find myself using the widest 17mm a lot but as always end up cropping in post for better composition. But it’s a me problem, and probably should frame and compose tighter in camera. This lens tends to be on my camera the most unless I know i’m gonna be shooting a bit of everything and the 28-70mm comes out instead. Will most likely add the 70-200mm from Tamron in the future because I’m happy with my Tamrons so far!

El rango del zoom es muy limitado, pero si usas una cámara aps-c como yo es muy versátil.

WOW WOW WOW! This is the only thing I have to say! This lens is amazing!!! So sharp, lightweight, pretty small and such a great focal range for landscape and all around shot paired with the Sony A7III it’s a blast! 5 Stars! The only down of this lens is that you’ll need to buy a good UV Filter to protect the front element because a little peace of sand or rock can easily get into the gap when you’re at 17mm! Otherwise I am really enjoying it! 👍📸 Insta; @Loko.earth

Purchased this lens twice, first one I received was a tamron box with the wrong lense in it and had to return it that’s why I gave it a 4 star but besides that it’s a amazing lens, just what I needed, very crisp quality just what you would expect from tamron
