I just purchased 3 of these for my kids (11, 8 and 8). One of the players works and the picture is nice. The other two suck. One doesn’t even turn on…the other has a picture that flickers with streaks and static. I’ve never written a review on anything before in all of my life, but I’m hacked enough to write this. Do not….do not….do not by this piece of crap. There is no troubleshoot for bad quality and bad customer service. The warranty is a joke and basically, I just ate $300.00. We bought them to provide the kids bigger screens, and the screens are bigger. For the one player that works, it’s a pretty decent picture compared to the Sony’s we’ve had in the past. But for two out of three to come out of the box inoperable or damaged, that goes to manufacturing and quality of service which obviously sucks. Stick with Sony or a better named bran that this light bulb manufacturer……oh, side note: This product sucks!!!

Love my new Sylvania Portable DVD Player, as it is a much larger screen than my last one, and shows my movies/shows so much better. The buttons are easy to use, the sound is good and I can use DVD’s, USB and SDHC Cards in it too, so it is multi faceted. My last one could only play DVD’s. Sylvania make great portable DVD players and this one is great, especially for the price, I think it was about $110, or thereabouts, very reasonable for what I got. I use it all the time, and Love it.

P.O.S. – do not waste your money!! This thing worked maybe twice before it stopped reading discs. Not burned disks, mind you. Disney dvd’s and the like will not play. I NEVER write reviews, but I’m so pissed about this purchase that this warrants the time. I’ll never purchase anything made by Sylvania again.

Bought this portable DVD player for an older family member. The picture quality is quite good and the machine is easy to use if you just want to put in a disc and press play.

This DVD player did not work for us. It would start playing a movie and then restart it constantly. We were never able to get it to play an entire movie. I wouldn’t recommend this. We are sending it back.

This portable DVD player has the biggest screen I could find in the market. It’s very easy to use, the few buttons are self-explanatory. It remembers where you left off from the movie so you can continue to watch the next day. You can watch with the AC wall adaptor plugged in or without (if fully charged). The set also comes with a car (cigarette) adaptor, A/V cable, and ear buds. In terms of the casing, it looks and feels plasticky (for this price I’d expected better materials). Anyway I’m quite happy with this purchase.

Great picture. No need to have the unit right in front of your face to see well. The USB input adds a lot more options. I hope I can use it to watch movies that I have downloaded but I haven’t tried that feature yet. I was looking for a portable dvd player with a large screen for a long time and this was the only one I have seen and so far I works well. The sound volume is a little on the low side but I have been using headphones so it’s not a big deal for me….now after almost 1 year it has stopped working, now sorry I bought it, hope it can still be returned. UPDATE. This unit died after 6 months of use. Amazon was great at putting me in contact with the seller who dragged their feet in getting back to me. They then informed me after a long delay that there was only a 6 month warranty. I tried to continue communicating with them to tell them in Canada electronics must have a minimum 1 year warranty. The refused to reply back to me. Avoid this Product!!

I really do not recommand. Poor quality picture with large white lines crossing screen many time during a movie. Battery dead after a view charges. Better to use the remote because control buttons are not easy to use, malfunction. Anyway, this DVD player is in garbage now.

Don’t waste your money. The second DVD player ordered from Amazon (the other one was a different make Wonni). Both stopped working shortly after the period where I could have returned it. This one was purchased only this past January. Don’t want to take a chance on another Amazon failure so will look elsewhere for the 3rd one

Initially, the DVD side of the player worked briefly on one DVD and it worked very well and I was quite happy. Then when I tried another disc, it wouldn’t recognize it. I tried several other DVDs with the same message. The CD side kept working but I bought it for the DVDs. I did receive a full refund for the product.

Perfect for the regular power outages in my near north home. Nice big picture, the sound is plenty for me though I can see where it might not be loud enough for some. Easy to use, quick to recharge and love that it can be “juiced” up in the car with the included lighter plug.

One of the worst purchases I have made on anything, ever. After comparing this with several other options, I spent what I consider a fairly high price, thinking I would get a high quality DVD player. At the time I was looking this was pretty much the most expensive option, but I thought it would be worth it for a good device. We went with a larger screen because we don’t own a TV and this was going to be our setup for putting shows on for our toddler or having a movie night. I wouldn’t mind this price for something really good that would allow us to finally watch movies without tying up our laptop! But I feel ripped off. What I got is not what I expected for this price.

    Issues:
*Casing is cheap and buttons are clumsy– you try to increase the volume and you end up putting the dvd on pause. Also the buttons are REALLY loud and clackety.
*No battery level indicator (that I could find), so if you actually are using this as a portable player it will poop out without warning. We can generally keep it plugged in but it would still be nice to know the battery level. For most customers, I assume this would be a pretty huge issue, as it’s supposed to be a /portable/ dvd player.
*Playback is spotty. Skips and freezes are common. Soooo frustrating. Now we never even know if it’s going to turn on or read the dvd in the first place.

It’s been about 6 months and the player is essentially non-functional. I want to replace it but I am not going to pay $100+ twice a year to be able to watch a DVD!

To be fair it has held up to some punishment from a grabby toddler, but the issues (freezes and inconsistent button responses) were present from the start. I don’t want anyone else to be as disappointed as I was.
