Up until now, even items not despatched have been packaged in an Amazon branded box. Couldn’t believe it when the postie delivered the item. It was just the box as it would be on the shelf. Not only did the label appear to not be an Amazon label. But the lid of the box wasn’t even stuck down with Sellotape. Manual says it takes only 3 to 5 seconds to fill. Don’t know if that was a misprint. Even after 10 seconds I didn’t get any indication of the torch being full. It does appear to be working ok though. UPDATE: This was fulfilled by Amazon. The poor packing is therefore their problem. When contacted they promised to investigate the matter.

Works like a charm fires up first time every time. The only thing I could say negative about it is that the safety lock and therefore also the ignition button is very cheap. It feels flimsy and could break fairly easily. Maybe if it was made of metal instead of plastic I’d have paid the extra five bucks for that.

Usually reviews help but not so much this time… First comment: the information you get from the seller is misleading, the “BBQ and bake” thing is a joke. I purchased this hoping that I could use it for searing small pieces of steak. No, you will never be able to rapidly sear steaks with it. Searing with it takes a long time and it toughens the meat. Yes, it is perfect for desserts, creme brûlée, scallops, etc. But never for meat. Second comment: I only used it twice, but both times it stopped working and needed to re-start it. I will try once more and if it’s the same I will return it.

Easy to use. Have to purchase the gas separately , but it is advertised that this is the case.
Would expect this to be good too for cake and food situations. I have another brand I use for this purpose, but this would also be really good.

This torch, which arrived with no butane, was perfectly fine once it’s filled with butane. However, getting it filled filling it with butane was pretty frustrating. I bought a butane cans from Target thinking there would be no issue. When I tried to insert the tip of the can into the torch, it would not fit. The problem is the bottom of the torch is incompatible with common butane refill cans because of its odd shape. I eventually went to Ace Hardware and asked the attendant to insert a different brand of butane in front of me to be sure that I wasn’t wasting more money. It worked. I’m posting the brand that I bought so that you know what works. Bottom line: make sure that you have this thing filled with butane before you need to use it – don’t be like me scrambling around town trying to figure out how to fill the torch when you really need it. I’m giving the torch four stars because it works perfectly fine – it’s the refill issue that’s so difficult and I’m not sure if that’s the fault of the torch or the incompatible can.

Was really impressed with this. I was looking for a lighter for my fire pit and this fits the bill incredibly well…. Really easy to fill and fast, powerful heat from the torch. The heat generated is hot hot hot and started my fire quickly and easily a far cry from matches or your standard lighter. Would defo recommend and can double up and be used in the kitchen for things like creme brulee!
