My milk frothing wand broke on my little espresso machine. I was sad. I looked around on Kijiji for another used one, but they’re around $100 used. I took and chance and bought this milk frother instead. Half the price of replacing my espresso machine, which still makes espresso wonderfully.
Wow! Am I ever glad the frothing wand broke on my machine! The wand was terribly loud. It would get clogged with milk if you weren’t careful to clean it very well. It was hard to clean.
This Secura milk frother is a joy to use. Easy to clean. So quiet compared to the typical espresso machine frothing wand. It’s so easy to use that we now find that the whole family is frothing milk way more often. My little 6 year old daughter pours some milk in, adds some cocoa powder, and makes herself a hot chocalate at the press of a button.
We love it! Awesome machine! 🙂

Used 2% milk and hit chocolate milk setting – very irritating vibrating/whirring noise throughout cycle. Cycle ran for just over 6 mins and ended up with so much froth and very little liquid. Temp of liquid was 171 degree – enough to burn my mouth. I tried again using the heating attachment and got more froth shaking my milk jug than I did from the frother. The temp again went to 170 degrees. The vibrating noise was much less using the heating attachment but still there. I tried 3rd time – used froth attachment and shut it off after 3 mins – temp was more suitable 135 degrees but still too much froth and still the noise. Gave 3 stars as absolutely loved the jug form and stainless steel finish inside. So easy to clean. Have returned the frother and will likely buy another from Nespresso. Just couldn’t get past the noise.

It heats and froths. It has different settings including if just heating or just frothing is wanted. The stainless pitcher is detachable which makes for easy cleaning. And the magnets for the whisks make it feel nice to use and store.

I love it! It froths the milk perfectly, is quiet, and heats to a perfect temperature. I like that you have the option of froth with heat, froth no heat or simply just heat no froth. It’s very easy to clean and lets face it, if an appliance is a pain to clean, We will just shove it away somewhere never to be used again. A tip for easy cleaning: put hot water and a drop of dish detergent and turn it in for thirty seconds, quick rinse and voila! Clean!

I really like this one! I have had others before which were also good. But this one wins because you can put the metal container in the dishwasher! It’s not that noisy. And I wouldn’t care anyway because it froths like a dream. 2% milk or higher works best. 1% or lower frothers, in general, don’t really work. I’d buy again for sure. And at the minimum line, it MAKES A LOT OF FROTH!!!!

I’ve owned Nespresso’s milk froather and Secura’s other milk froather that is in the same set up as Nespresso’s before. Both were hard to clean and the milk temperature was never consistent, often needing to heat up the milk further in a microwave to enjoy my coffee. Secura’s other milk froather also stopped working within the year and although I was provided with a replacement under the warranty, the replacement Also broke within three months or so. I am LOVING THIS version of Secura’s milk froather so far although I’ve only used it twice. It looks chic, is very easy to clean and the milk temperature is just right, and so is the amount of milk froath for a latte. I just hope that it does not break within the year like the other version did!
