It was 2 or 3 days late in arriving which was frustrating since then everything on the shelf was on the floor or in the way on my desk.

It’s reasonably sturdy. It’s certainly not heirloom quality but it’s also not heirloom quality price. The back disappointed me in that it’s a piece of wood grain coloured cardboard. I was expecting a something a bit sturdier such as a piece of thin woodgrain particleboard much like Ikea furniture.

Speaking of Ikea this was not like my experience with that brand of flatpack. It took longer than expected to put together because the holes you screw into were harder to work with if you’re solely using hand tools instead of power tools like I was.

Overall I am decently pleased. I don’t expect it to fall apart tomorrow and it does the trick.

Those reviews that say it is junk and don’t buy don’t know what they are talking about. Received mine today, assembled it in 15 minutes using electric drill and bit. No problems what so ever. It is sturdy for the pricer and looks good. If you expect the quality of high end furnature for this price forget it, you are dreaming. If you want a cheap set or sturdy shelves that look good, this is it.

Exactly what I expected. Sturdy enough for a smaller bookshelf. So easy to put together I let my 9 year old do it (with supervision). Only complaint is the shipping was horrible. They wouldn’t deliver it because it was “too heavy” and they didn’t want to bother finding our townhouse. And they didn’t call us until several days after the guaranteed delivery date to tell us we needed to come pick it up. Seriously not impressed with that company, I hope Amazon stops using them.

I purchased the bookcase because it was advertised made in the United State. I received the one labeled made in China. Feeling cheated. I have assembled several bookcases for me and my son, this one is uniquely peculiar. The 2 sides and 2 shelves ( top and bottom) were put together by 8 screws , the whole bottom shelf literally touches the hardwood floor meaning this small bookcase needs 2 people to move around. There are visible gaps between each adjustable shelf and the sides. The 24 provided nails keep the back cardboard open. The laminae is as thin and soft as paper, it was scratched out when I removed a tiny glued label on the top shelf. The one star is to praise seller’s smart idea about packaging. The item was packaged in such away that I had to destroy the carton to take the item out, and therefore destroyed the thinking about returning the item.

I thought it would be a little better quality because of the Sauder name but this thing is JUNK. It arrived with box damaged and worst than Chinese boxes that they send their junk in. Very disappointed in Sauder, very lousy quality control, hang your head in shame sauder. You will lose money if you keep selling garbage like this. The total score on this should be ZERO all across the board.

I really like the quality of this bookcase – HOWEVER, the screws and shelf supports seemed to be missing so I thought I couldn’t assemble it.

I decided to shake out the box before recycling it. Thank goodness I did – the hardware was hiding under some cardboard at the bottom of the box. So, all is good!

It’s… a bookcase. A very cheap bookcase. It works. It’s okay. It’s the fast food of bookcases. It’s laminated / veneered particle board and straight up thin cardboard in the back. No pre-drilled holes (which is part I dislike most) so it takes two people to hold the pieces steady while the other uses all their muscle to screw in the screws. If you mess up, it splits the board.
Would I buy this again? Probably not.

Easy to assemble, everything included all you need is a star head screwdriver and hammer (I used a staple gun). Unit has a pressed wood veneer finish with a top and bottom shelf and two (2) adjustable shelves. Sturdy. The only drawback was the back of the case was a thick paperboard sheet which they suggested nailing (nails provided) to the finished shelves. I used a staple gun for this which was much easier and quicker.

I feel like pictures speak louder than words. But I built this shelf by myself and for someone who’s never used a hammer or built anything, it was surprisingly easy to build! It’s also really deep, you can easily double up if you’re running low on space. But it’s definitely durable, color is attractive and holds plenty of books.

It came quickly and undamaged. It also didn’t take me long to put it all together. By myself, it took roughly 1.5 hours.

My only negative things to say is that its much smaller than I thought it would be. But it worked out just fine!

I attached the picture. Don’t mind the unfinished sides, I realized, after it was all put together, that I nailed the back on backwards but hey it looks great.

Without a doubt this is low quality. The top shelf has exposed MDF. I think for 80 dollars they could have at least covered the entire shelf with a veneer. The screw hole were 1/4 of an inch off. This unit should be 40 bucks and no more. And it is less then sturdy. The hole thing is held together by cheap cardboard backing
