Product makes a complete mess of the microwave due to the lack of any kind of lid and the half the water boils out onto the tray of the microwave leaving your noodles undercooked.

The directions on the packaging wasn’t kidding, cut down on the flavor packets if you are using this to cook the ramen. When you use the whole packet, the ramen will be too salty. The noodles were cooked really nicely, they still had some bounce and wasn’t soggy at all. This is great for fellow college students that can’t always precisely time or ration the exact amount of water to cook the ramen, or for those who only have a microwave. This makes cooking ramen packs sooo much easier and consistent.

The only minor flaw is that since this is plastic, it will sometimes “hold on” to flavor/smell if you leave it in there too long, whether it’s leaving it in the sink after you eat the ramen, or letting it soak in the dish detergent. You should wash this with minimal detergent right after, don’t leave it laying around soaking up the smells.

I like how this product cooks ramen (perfectly), but I have found that it is great for oatmeal too! Note that I like soft mushy oatmeal so I use 1/2 cup of 1-minute Quaker Oatmeal, dash of salt and 1 cup of 2% milk from the fridge. This brings the total mixture exactly to the fill line marked. To prevent boil-overs in the microwave, I do 1:30 minutes at full power, stop and stir the bowl, then another 1:30 minutes. Sit for a couple minutes to thicken and cool then eat up. My microwave is an Oster 1000W. The picture shows my additions of raisins, cranberries and chopped dates. You’ll want to adjust times to suit your oven, taste and choice of oatmeal – regular instead of quick cook may require longer times — or shorter if you like your oatmeal firm and not mushy.

For convenience, I mix the oatmeal with dried fruit and keep it in a gallon Ziploc bag – keeps the bugs out! And I use a 1/2 cup measuring cup for exact portions so my oatmeal comes out the same every time. I used to add sugar or condensed milk to sweeten but I’m trying to cut out calories and increase fiber; I feel very pleased with myself having this as a late supper instead of a sweet or junk food!

This is my second purchase of this item. It works great, so I decided to get my husband one.
I received the pictured item, with NO BROKEN PIECE TO BE FOUND!
It was sent to me like this. I will keep it and use it, but come on!

FANTASTIC! My husband, a self-proclaimed ramen addict, adores these. Keep in mind that, size-wise, they are meant for Western ramen bricks (think Mr. Noodles, etc), so if you use Asian ramen bricks, which we do, just break the bricks in half lengthwise, and slightly layer them in the Rapid Ramen Cooker. After cooking, pull it out, stir, then cook another minute. Ta-da! Perfect Asian ramen!

    I mean, it’s super simple:
    -add seasoning, then noodles
    -fill to line
    -nuke it for 3.5min
-rinse before another serving or toss in the dishwasher; handwashing’s a breeze since nothing really sticks to it

If you like instant noodles you’ll definitely want one of these.

So where to start, Oh I know, a block of ramen does NOT fit in this junk! That’s right I buy my ramen at a Korean market (you know, the creators of ramen), it’s their best selling brand. This junk is about 1/4″ too narrow for it to fit (no it doesn’t fit if I turn it 90 degrees either). I don’t know what kind of dollar store ramen is supposed to fit but really?
The second issue… it uses so little water that what you end up with (if you break off 1/4″ of the block of ramen and throw it away) is a concentrated starchy gravy that’s really off putting. and finally because you use so little water you’ll have to figure out just how much seasoning to use or it’ll be a salt bomb, but frankly all your going to taste is that starchy gravy anyway.
BTW after it arrived and I looked at it I realized it probably cost them less than a penny to make one of these, seriously it looks like a disposable food container, so it’s out right robbery at $10.50

I bought this as a funny Easter basket stuffer — you know, here’s a treat while you’re in stay-at-home-pandemic mode. And to be clear, the product is exactly what it says it is: a black plastic tray that fits a block of ramen. But that’s it. No packaging. Nothing that would make it any different from putting your ramen in your own bowl and microwaving. It might be worth a purchase at the dollar store as a novelty. But $9.99? Save your money.

Pictures make this look big. Its literally just the size of Ramen noodles. I thought there would be room to add more food, but there isn’t.

This thing would have been my best barracks buddy. It’s super simple, easy to clean, the perfect size for a package of ramen with no frills, and you can use it even if your brain is on stand-by from not sleeping for three days.

For the people asking for a manual… the instructions are literally printed ON THE BOWL.
    1. Add noodles. 2. Add water to fill line. 3. Microwave for 3-4 minutes.
That’s it. Printed right there in black plastic.

Personally I like a little broth so I add a bit more water and cook it an extra 30 seconds. I’ve tried four different brands of ramen noodles at this point, they all fit and cooked pretty well, and I want more of these. I don’t need more, I live alone, but I want more because they’re so awesome.

For the people complaining that they’re too small, order the deluxe one or the mac & cheese cooker, maybe? The deluxe version is designed to cook two packs of ramen at once, so I bet you could cook one pack of ramen and toss some veggies in there with it. I’m partial to mushrooms, scallions, and celery myself, so I’ll probably order a deluxe one to test that out.

I lost my other one I had to pay triple the price for it on Amazon but since I make ramen all the time for me and the kids for a quick tasty microwaveable snack this thing is perfect. The noodles come out perfect every time and super fast. Who wants to boil on a stove when your 5 year old says there hungry now. This thing is a mom lifesaver
