I just used this today for my eggs over easy – it stated right on the label – for first use use a high fat content like butter or oil so I put a dollop of butter and fried my eggs no sticking issue – the surface is a bit rough
But it does not seem to be an issue and wiped out the butter as clean up – but do wash the pan before first use – and you will need to season occasionally over time that is just the way cast iron is the instructions on the site are clear on how to maintain this pan – after washing dry on low heat over the stove etc. I was so annoyed at my non stick pan I would replace each year and could smell the chemical coating – so cast iron is better for your health and yes it takes more to maintain

Beautiful cast iron. Heavy, so as I age I need to use two hands to move it. Like the idea from stove to oven and even heat. It’s been years since I used a cast iron pan and look forward to many recipes. The clear glass lid and red rubber handle cover are also quality made.

This pan is heavy and well built. However after the first use I noticed some spots in the pan. I’ve attached a pic. It looks as if the iron coating has chipped or peeled. I thought the pan was completely iron so i was shocked to see this other metal peeping out. Also the silicon handle is not heat resistant so u have to be careful with that!

Was really looking forward to getting this pan for my Mom and I was planning on buying on for myself later, but it’s VERY uneven and bumpy. You can’t cook an egg because the egg sticks to the surface of the pan. I wish it was smooth. I love the size and I would have bought more if they were made better

I bought this pan for family as a Christmas present. The plan was that I was going to make crepes on Christmas day. The pan failed miserably no matter how much butter I put on it. Had to resort to using a Teflon frying pan to make the crepes. A couple days later my sister in law oiled the pan and baked it in the oven and now it works perfectly. If you order one of these make sure you season it before trying to use it. The silicone handle cover that comes with it is a great addition.

Like the size. But I may be doing something wrong…food has an iron taste sometimes. Does rust if soak in water for a bit too long. I then wait it dry but then leaves a rusty smell. I don’t quite understand best way to clean it after cooking

This skillet is perfect. It fits in a cooktop oven to my great surprise! Picture included. You’re still gonna have to learn how to season a pan because the pre-seasoning isnt enough. No one makes pans with a complete and smooth anti-stick seasoning, it would just increase the item price too much, so this isnt a lost point. Read other comments to learn how, or look on reddit and youtube.
The surface is very nice. No irregular bumps that your utensils will hit all the time, unlike some other brands that shall remain nameless. Included close-up pics.
The lid fits perfectly and is easy to wash. The steam can escape on the sides thanks to the “pour curves” or whatever you wanna call them. Its brilliant! The silicone handle keeps the heat away from your hands. Be sure to take it off when you season your pan in the oven.

After using for more than 2 weeks, here are my reviews.
Pros:
1. Comes preseasoned hence you do not need to put much effort seasoning it, but remember to use oil generously for the first time when you use it.
2. After use Put the hot pan under running hot tap water and wipe it off with a cloth. No need to use detergent.
3. Heat distribution is even and good but once gets hot, turn knob to minimum
4. I almost cook everything that goes on a griddle. It’s study
Cons:
1. The silicon handle won’t protect your hand as I got burnt twice and had to use mittens to handle the heated griddle.

I was so excited for this purchase since I already have the combo cooker from the same brand and it has been my go to piece for making Sourdough bread. But I opened my box and the edge was broken into pieces. I could not believe a cast iron broke. It seems really thin in the middle part of the pan. Filed a return. Im so disappointed. Looks like I will have to buy the other more expensive brand.

Heats up well, great size, love the red silicone handle. Washes up great…I’m just not used to ‘Not Scrubbing’ lol…and I always coat in oil afterward with a pastry brush. It’s already seasoned for you, great. I’ve had it a while now and use it regularly….food tastes so nice.
My one gripe is that at this price I would have expected a silicone handle for the other handle at the top, too. Two hands are best to lift this into the oven, etc.

Very heavy and excellent quality. Good size and really durable, lid fits well.
Also would be excellent as a self defense weapon, no one would get up after being hit round the head by this.
Only negative is that the handle does get very hot even with the silicon sleeve popped on it so you may need to handle with an oven glove on!
