The battery life and suction power was great at initial purchase. Performed exactly like OEM Dyson. However, after approximately 10 months of use the battery no longer holds any charge. This is using the original Dyson charger that came with my vacuum. Hence why 2 star rating.
Battery itself was straight forward to install, just snap it in.
Now I’m on the search for another alternative. Maybe bitw the bullet and pay more for OEM.

Customer service from Powerextra reached out to me very shortly following my initial review and offered to replace my defective unit free of cost. I’ve since received the replacement battery (within just a few days of initial contact) and have had the opportunity to use it in my Dyson. The new replacement battery performs well (like OEM battery). I’m hoping this one will last; I will provide another update should my experience change again. Based on the customer service and generous replacement offer, I’ve changed my review to 5 stars since both performance and customer support are extremely satisfactory.

We’ve had our portable Dyson vacuum cleaner for more than 5 years. It’s been working great. However, as the battery aged, it wasn’t able to hold the charge for long before having to recharge it again. This replacement battery works like a charm. It fits the vacuum cleaner well and has more capacity compared to the factory one. We were thinking about buying a new Dyson vacuum cleaner. With this new battery, it breathes new life into our Dyson!

At first i was skeptical with an offbrand battery as ive had bad luck in the past. but i figured for 40$ instead of 500$ for a new vaccum it was worth the try.
BOY O BOY was i happily suprised with this one. No compatibility problem with the vacuum what so ever. has other people have pointed out this battery is actually BETTER than the original one. i did a quick test when i received it and even before charging the battery fully i had a better run time (about 8min non stop, and it was still going my finger was hurting) at max capacity than when i initially got the vacuum.
the only bad point is that the color doesnt exactly match the original plastic just right. Then again i absolutly do not care about it considering the AMAZING result this battery gives so far.
So far worth every cent, will try to remember to leave follow up review in a couple month

My DC35 was on it’s last legs, I had a sneaky suspicion that the battery was dying due to the DC35 struggling to run on MAX mode for more than 4 seconds. Upong swapping out the battery with this one, holy smokes, I tell you this thing is a difference between day and night. I can vacuum my entire 1000s foot townhouse on MAX on one single charge with still some juice left. I love it. It’s saved my marriage. Here’s to hoping the ion battery lasts a good amount of time!

We own the DC35. It fits perfectly, charged quickly and it has turned a vacuum we were going to trash a new life. The original battery for our machine died just after the warranty ended. Dyson quit producing this battery for re-sale as they switched over to a new style.
With this battery, our machine has better suction and can clean our main floor and stairwell without dying. With the original, we might have gotten the stairwell clean or the main floor but never both as the run time on it was 15 minutes.
Time will tell if this replacement will continue to keep our machine running.

Bought this almost a year ago and it was great, battery life better better than OEM and it had just as much suction power. I was very happy and then just the other day the battery died out of no where and now won’t take a charge. I realize I bought a year and would not expect a refund but on the other hand when I purchased the battery I was counting on it lasting longer than a year. If I happened to just get a lemon then this could be a very good product and I was just unlucky, but no way to know for sure.
**Update** Powerextra reached out to me and shipped me a new battery which works great! Excellent customer service, sent me a new battery when I was already over warranty period, would definitely recommend!

Bought this to replace the battery on my Dyson Vacuum DC35. My Dyson would start and stop, constantly. Rendering the unit almost unusable. It was a two fold problem. The battery was one cause of the problem, and the second is the battery contacts on the INSIDE of the vacuum, where the battery attaches. So frustrating, yet so rewarding being able to bring my DC35 back to life. The battery contacts on the INSIDE of the hand held unit, need to be modified / corrected. You need to get in their with a small screw driver (I have a snap on pick tool set, with 4 different types of tool ends) and try to wedge the flat part of the battery contacts, in order to raise them (it will seat up against the lithium battery and make a stronger contact). This will fix one of the problems with the vacuum starting and stopping, due to poor battery contact (over time, the battery forces the contacts on the handheld too far down). The second issue, compounds the first issue, and that is the battery becomes exhausted. When the battery starts to die down, the unit will shut down (turn off). And this is much more evident when using your Dyson at HIGH Suction power mode, yet the unit seems to operate with more consistency on regular suction mode. But the fact is hidden, by the poor contact problem associated with many of the Dyson Stick Vacuums. So, you end up thinking it is a mechanical unit problem more so, than a battery problem. But, it is a dual problem where one can mask the other, and usually neither will actually fix the problem on it’s own.
As for the Battery, it is an equal if not better than an OEM Dyson battery. Seriously, there is NOTHING to compromise with the original. It is just as sturdy and well made. It lasts as long if not longer. It fits and operates perfectly. It will bring your Dyson Stick vacuum back up to run time minimum requirements. Just make sure you address the internal battery contacts on the inside of the Dyson Stick vacuum.
