    Well I finally received this bread maker, it arrived dented and broken in various places . I thought that this was going to be built like a tank for the cost of 300.00 after taxes. I have to say I’m disappointed I was looking forward to using this bread maker . Well anyway looking in the maker I don’t think that the little paddle would have lasted long it is very thin . The loaf pan is also very finicky to get in and out of the base . I don’t know if it was normal or not . I wished so much that this would be the machine for me but alas it being broken made me decide to go with the double paddled west bend 3 lb loaf machine instead the same one that I had previously owned before trying to get this one.

    We were using a resurrected 25 year old West Bend bread machine here recently that made all kinds of noise but produced good loaves of bread. We though well, maybe we better get a new one, seeing as the old beast was so noisy. And so, we settled on this so-called “quality” Swiss thing. Unboxing, it looked great, but seemed “light”. I checked the paperwork with it to see if it were made in Switzerland, but couldn’t find anything. Be that as it may, we gave it a whirl. Now, my wife is certified in certain sourdough baking and has many years baking experience in general, plus plenty of experience using a bread machine. And so, with that in mind, attempt #1 with a tried and true bread machine recipe resulted in a collapsed loaf. Attempt #2, she adjusted the water content per this “Swiss” thing’s instructions… and, boom, another collapsed loaf. Attempt #3, she tried one of their (probably not Swiss) recipes, this time resulting in a hollow loaf! Well, 3 strikes and yer out. As I was repackaging it for this “Swiss” bread machine’s trip back to wherever it came from, I thought surely the bottom of the machine would reveal where it was manufactured. And what do you know… it says “made in PRC”, with PRC meaning “People’s Republic of China”. Now granted, it’s my bad for not looking more closely to be sure this thing was “Swiss” beyond their claims that it was. But, more so it’s their bad for not revealing this in the description here in it’s Amazon listing, much less that they claim it to have “Swiss Quality”!!! Is this not misleading or even false advertising? Oh well, it’s going back to it’s “Swiss” origins… in the “PRC” and we’ll go back to our clunky old 25 year old West Bend for a REAL loaf of bread.

    I got this based on how many times I would make bread during the holidays and for the price it is worth it. The only issue I had was getting the bread pan out since it was tightly screwed onto the bottom of the machine. It says this in the manual but you have to twist the bread pan counterclockwise and pull up.

    I had my previous bread machine for 15 years, and it was nice to get one that works this well and certainly
    alot more quiet than my old one. Thank you Pohl Schmitt.

    Let me begin by saying this was my first time baking bread – EVER, and also the first time using a bread machine.
    I will say that it was a little bit intimidating, lots of buttons, number of programs, but like a true overachiever I read directions cover to cover. I did all things asked before first use. Yes, it did smell funny a little bit, but they warned about that. I have made 2 different breads before I set out to write this review. Of course I chose 2 recipes that had typos in them. For those who are desperate to try out French Countryside bread – it needs 4 cups of bread flour, and for those of you who want to try Apple Walnut bread – it’s 1/4 cup of brown sugar, not 4 cups of brown sugar.
    I followed directions, it was super easy in hindsight, but I was double checking everything as I was so nervous to both ruin the machine and fail at my first bread making. (Side note to those who blindly use the included cup. 1 cup is to their line, not to the top as most of the 1 cup(s) in any kitchen. I read a number of reviews with people complaining about their dud breads and I think it’s a user error and/or not fresh yeast or wrong water temperature rather than machine problem.)
    That being said, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this machine. It is all the things that others mention in their reviews: nice design, easy to clean, super quiet, aside for when nuts compartment’s bottom drops, convenient display for everything that is happening, a little window to satisfy your curiosity as to what is happening inside. Yes, I found myself looking into it, watching kneading process, watching bread rise, watching it turn lovely color when baking.
    Our house smells of delicious freshly baked bread and I mean it – both French Countryside and Apple Walnut breads are absolutely delicious!

    Additional notes as of August 2020. We haven’t purchased bread in a store since we purchased this machine. I’d say I can make bread with my eyes closed in no time, with no worries, just add all the ingredients, press start and leave the kitchen. Don’t worry, machine will beep once it’s done:) We make fresh bread once/twice a week. Machine works great. Our toddler loves the little window to see what is happening inside.

    BEST PURCHASE MADE!

    My experience with bread machines is from about 20 years.  An experience that my friends also enjoy, and for that reason this is the eighth or ninth machine I buy.
    This time I bet on the good name of the Swiss manufacturers for high quality.
    And I don’t think I was wrong.
    Nice design and color that fits into the kitchen interior;
    Prepared programs for the main types of bread;
    Ability to execute a program made by the owner;
    Something I’ve only encountered in higher-end bread machines.
    Acceptable noise level at work;
    In addition:
    Excellent customer service.
     As always, AMAZON was impeccable in delivery.

    I disliked everything about the machine except the fact that it was easy to clean. I made 3 loaves of white bread. The first one was 1000 g and did not cook all the way through at the top nor did it rise properly. It was too dense. The second 500 g loaf did not mix properly or rise despite me having bought brand new bread yeast before cooking the first loaf. The yeast was clearly well before BB date. The 3rd 500 g loaf mixed to one side of the loaf pan and cooked a dense loaf on one half of the pan. This is clearly a defective machine.

    This is the first bread machine for me and I love it. It allows me to use bread mixes and to use my own recipes. The crust turns out great.
    Additionally, I make jams and yoghurt in it.
    It is sturdy and easy to clean on the outside and in terms of the removable parts. The inside is a little harder to reach but still manageable.
    The Noise is subjectively very tolerable. Definitely a good investment.

    I had read some reviews of a previous model of Breadmaker from this company and they were good, so I gave this one a try.
    Made a few loaves and they turned out great even when 1 time 1 of the loaves I was making used room temp water, even long time bakers mess up…lol, but the Bread still rose to 90% of its volume, I think the program they use to to run this machine is forgiving.
    I have had 6 Breadmachines over my 30 plus year history and am impressed by the quality and the results with this machine so far.
    I am the type who will update this review if anything changes, so stay tuned.
    ** 11-21-20 update, has been over 11 months, Breadmaker is still going strong after 40 to 50 loaves of bread, I still love it 🙂

    I would give this 0 stars if I could. Worked 3 times and then broke. Called the manufacturer to find out that they do not authorize deals through Amazon and will not honour the warranty as they cannot verify what kind of condition the bread maker was in when it was bought and delivered. Contacted the seller who told me they won’t help and to contact the manufacturer. So I am stuck with a bread maker that doesn’t work and have since found out I paid 150% mark up on it from the price I would have paid if I had bought directly (which also would have been covered for defects). Will never buy anything from this seller again.

    Two members of our household, including myself, are allergic to gluten. Since finding this out about ten years ago, I’ve attempted to make many, many gluten free breads. Most were epic failures, so I’ve been purchasing store bought bread at around $7 a loaf. I saw this bread maker and thought it was worth a try, with all it’s positive reviews. We got it yesterday and baked the first loaf a few hours later. I honestly had given up all hope of a soft gluten free bread that did not need to be toasted to be palatable, but this machine proved me wrong. In fact, we all ate it so fast that the picture only shows half the loaf! I used the DIY setting to get the perfect times for the cycles. The machine is easy to clean, quiet, doesn’t heat up the whole house, and is pretty easy to program. Bottom line: one of the best purchases I’ve ever made, would recommend and would buy again.
