I was very excited to get this, but when I did I noticed that the adjustors move sometimes as I’m wearing it, and the slide is quite bulky when you’re handing the camera.

When I contacted Peak Design’s customer service about a question I had, I recieved a rude response back. So I won’t be buying from them again. And lastly the anchors seemed to be recalled so now I need to look into checking if mine need to be replaced.

Camera straps that come with the bodies you buy are cheap. They fray easily, they’re hard to adjust, and can sometimes cause your camera to flail around and hit things when you walk.

As soon as I opened the box, I could feel the quality. Sure, it’s an expensive strap, but it’s good to pay a bit of money to ensure your camera is secure as you carry it. Upon installation, it felt great. The anchors slide on and off the strap well, and the way it is set up allows me to draw, aim, and fire quickly and smoothly. It’s on my gripped D750, and it holds it securely with no issues. If you want to avoid paying the premium for the thicker Slide, get the Slide Lite for your DSLR and I am confident you will not have any problems.

One small issue I had with the strap is the metal anchor points on the strap itself – they are much harder than plastic which makes them extremely durable, but I get a lot of metal on metal action with the rubbing of the anchors on my camera. I fixed this issue by covering the parts where rubbing occurs with electrical tape. Problem solved!

By the way, keep in mind that you are receiving V3 anchors with this purchase. They have had a 1 in 17000 fail rate with these anchors, so use them at your own risk – however, you can always grab free V4 replacements on their website, so I do not know why people complain about the recall being such a huge deal.

All in all, the Slide Lite is an extremely great strap and with my shooting style, it is close to the perfect strap. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is looking for a better strap for their camera!

This strap feels and looks amazing! The quality is superb! Yes you pay good bucks for it, but the quality of the material is there, and you can feel that it will last you for a quite a while! I took this one to Marrakesh, with my Sony a7iii and a 24-105 attached and for the first time I felt very secure having it around my chest. Hardly bounced, and I felt it really safe against my chest. And I can tell you that Marrakesh is not the safest places to walk around with £2000 plus of gear.

I bought this to use on photography workshops when using my Nikon Z6. Some people think that’s a small, light camera. It’s not small and light to me and I wanted a strap that would be comfortable to use while walking around London for 6 hours shooting street photography.

First things first, it was comfortable for all that time and it held the camera securely. I didn’t feel it swaying about as I always have with the included straps (which I hate). For that reason alone I’m now a convert to this Peak Design strap, despite the cost (you might think it’s a fair price, I still think it’s ridiculous for a strap).

Next, it has a variety of carrying styles. I used it round my neck, simply because of how I was going to be shooting. I might try it with the side sling configuration when I’m on a more leisurely shoot, but I saw one guy using the same strap that way on the workshop I attended and he seemed to have no problem with it. I think as a side sling it was marginally slower to raise the camera, but we’re talking fractions of a second.

I can’t talk about long term wear and tear, because I’ve only just got this. From all I’ve read they hold up ok.

One one side of the strap, around where you’d have it on your neck, there’s a rubberised grip (not too pronounced) and that really does stop the camera/strap combo from slipping. That’s always been a problem for me with included cameras straps when I’ve had them over my shoulder, rather than over my neck. The grip on this strap prevents that so that’s a big plus in my eyes.

The little eyelet type attachments work very well and snap in and out easily. You can buy extras so if you have several cameras you can use a single strap and share it with all of them as you need to (assuming you only take one camera with you when out shooting). I don’t think the extra attachments are super, super cheap, but they’re cheaper than a whole strap package so overall you could get some economy there.

Would I buy this strap again? Yes, I would, despite moaning about the price. I got the black version since I don’t want to call attention to myself when on the streets, but they do have some nice looking versions. That’s purely a matter of taste, of course.

Would I buy a second strap? Probably not, since I rarely take more than one camera with me when I’m out and about so I can just use this strap on any of them. I just need a few spare attachments. Actually, you can remove them from your camera pretty fast anyway, so moving the whole thing from one camera to another would probably take less than a minute.

They do have a broader strap for heavier cameras, but this one is rated for heavier than my Z6 so I don’t know if I’d need anything bigger than the Slide Lite. If I ever do need a heavier duty strap, the Peak Design would probably be my first choice.

It was nice to fit the strap and forget about it. That’s not really something I’ve ever been able to do with an included strap. They always seem to have something not quite right about them and I really don’t like how they emblazon the brand all over them. I don’t want to advertise the camera I’m carrying from a distance. There are enough pickpockets around without attracting their attention with a bright yellow Nikon logo!

I previously had the full width Slide for my Pentax K-1. It works perfectly, but was arguably overkill. The main reason I chose it at the time was because the then-current Slide Lite did not have the silicone grip on one side of the strap (at least I’m 99% sure that was the case). Now that they’ve seemingly added it, I’ll continue to use the full Slide on my larger Pentax 645D/645Z cameras, and use the lite on the K-1 and K-01.

The anchors are also newer, and the cords appear to be slightly thicker – I kept the older generation anchors on the lighter cameras and installed the thicker ones on the 645 cameras.

I’ve traveled to many countries with these straps on my cameras supporting lenses up to 1-2kg and the Peak Design products have never let me down.

Pricey, but after using it, you realize its practically underpriced. It’s sleek, stylish, incredibly comfortable, very versatile and most importantly……” strong like bull”. What is 80$ when it comes to protecting a $6000 camera/lens/strobe setup? It’s the most practical insurance/piece of mind you can get for your gear.

I’ve been an evangelist for Peak Designs ever since I first discovered them on Kickstarter quite a few years ago. Since than, I’ve purchased quite a few of their other items…and they really do stand the test of time.

There are many things to like about this strap. It uses a high quality nylon webbing that is extremely durable and does not fray. It has a partially gripped underside that is designed specifically for carrying the strap over a single shoulder vice over-neck or slung.

Despite not being padded it is very comfortable when carried for longer periods of time (does depend on the weight of your equipment). I was shooting with a full-size DSLR and 30-700mm, and found the strap very comfortable for wearing for periods of 2-3 hours.

The anchor quick-release system is very easy to use while also being extremely durable. Overall, I would recommend this trap without reservation.

This company is nothing shy of perfection, from the amazing origami like packaging of the products, to the satisfying click of the anchor points, everything about the item makes it feel like a high value product.

You can clearly feel that Peak Design have spent a lot of time thinking about the usability of their items too.

Ironically, this slide lite is let down by the rather clumsy and heavy anchor point clips which you install on the camera.

It’s been less than 24 hours of use and they have already left horrible marks on what was a prestine G80 camera body, not happy at all about this!

After reading the raving reviews I just don’t get it.

The anchor points are quite heavy and made from what appear to be a robust plastic, so they naturally fall down when stored and rub against the camera body.

I would warn others to remove the strap before packing into a bag as the plastic is too robust and likely stronger than the cameras body which is causing marks and scratches.

This would have been a perfect neck strap otherwise. I just can’t believe how this one thing has been overlooked for a company that seems to care so much about every single detail.

They need to add a silicone layer to the exterior of the anchor clips or something else to soften it without loosing the integrity of them.

Even possibly adding length to the anchor clips as this would allow the anchor points to drop beneath the camera for storage.

Sorry Peak Design, I read a lot about your company buy your strap just ruined my perfect camera body which I paid close to £800 for

I did so well keeping this camera in perfect condition, who knew a neck strap would destroy it’s reign?!

This is the second one of these straps I have as I have two different types of camera. The previous one I have had for several years and it’s still as good as new despite lots of use. The strap length is fully adjustable and quick and easy to alter. There are two sides to the strap, one smooth where it moves easily across your shoulder and one that has a rubber grip to hold it in place, you can chose which side to use depending on how much you move your camera up and down. You do not need to remove the strap to change sides, just turn it over and it will move to the other side as it’s held in place with the two connectors at each end which allows for it to turn. I use both sides many times on a photography shoot. It holds a huge amount of weight and I would certainly recommend this over a cheaper strap purely for the ease of use and peace of mind in keeping your camera securely attached to you.

I have no doubt camera straps often do not get the consideration the deserve. I will not be a working billboard for a company I have just offloaded a door stopping wedge of cash on never mind how great their product my be. This means 3rd party straps are a must. As our smartphones become better and better cameras out “real” cameras need to be as easy to carry and convenient as we can make them to ensure their place at out side as often as possible. And in this regard peak designs does very well.

I’m not going to go into details about the design or quality of construction, They ate great and you’ll find a 1000 reviews in every corner of the internet. But I will say this. Every time I clip it onto my mirrorless Lumix I make sure to enjoy the satisfying click. I they think back to that great packaging with its magnetic hinged lid and all the other expensive touches that where part of those first impressions. The reason I do that is I know that a very large chunk of the hefty price tag when on that first unboxing.

For me, I would have been much happier with simple packaging a reduced price tag. I can but know I was sucked in buy all that sleek marketing and vastly over payed for a camera strap, a very, very nice strap but at the end of the day still just a simple camera strap with a very, very big price tag.

But hey……. That unboxing was great. Just a shame half the cost was in the recycling bin before the sun went down.

I purchased the Lite version for use on a small Nikon Z6 camera–small camera but sometimes large lenses. The strap is comfortable, holds position well, and is easy to adjust. The bottom anchor stays on without loosening, something I had trouble with on another strap brand. Other brands have clunky connectors but Peak design is unobtrusive and so easy to uncouple. I have had two other strap brands in the past and this is by far the best. Highly recommended.

The silver metal part is full on bling with minimal value.
Grab the slide anywhere and it moves when needed. The metal part will eventually flop around once the plastic nubs wear down.
I’m going to remove the metal (two pretty screws) to prevent further scratching of my gear. I will also re-sew the strap with one adjuster removed. It’s long enough and short enough at the extremes of adjustment without using two buckles. I don’t ever want wear a 1.9kg camera and lens on my sternum
and around my neck, that’s so ’60s.
The strap fabric is unmatched in quality and feel. the attachment points are…PeakDesigns standard, excellent quick connects.
Too bad this strap has such wide attachment ends, unlike the Leash that I also own.
So I’ll use the Slide-Lite to carry my 2.5kg tripod and the much narrower Leash for my camera with mounted lenses, supported additionally by my gear bag.
