Absolutely love this. Makes cutting apples super quick and effortless. I don’t like having useless gadgets in my kitchen, but we eat apples often enough that it is worthy of taking space. Not sure about how long the blades will stay sharp, but so far so good. Need to be careful with storage as the blades are sharp.

This product is fine, cuts apples fine no issues.
The issues after 4 days and maybe like 6 uses one of the blades popped out. Making it completely useless.
I can not attach, pictures to this review so I’ll try to describe it as best as I can. There are 4 triangles and circle in the middle. One those triangles came out causing the circle to come out of the frame as well. So now it’s just the frame with 3 triangles which is useless.
I don’t have any problems with this product except it breaks easy and is fragile.

This is an excellent product. It does exactly what it says it will, cut apples quickly and cleanly into equal sizes. This year, we have the largest glut of apples ever so am venturing into cider making. On Sunday, my son and I got into a little routine and were chopping apples at the rate of one every 4 seconds, we did several hundred over the course of the day and it was as sharp at the end as it was at the beginning.
Some commentators have said that it does not chop all the way through: this is true, the last 1mm or so keeps it altogether. This was an advantage for me as we then moved the apples into a ‘musher’ and it was easy to push the core out using thumb and all the other pieces followed.
If you do need it to cut cleanly all the way through, just raise the apple slightly: by sitting it on a £1 coin.

Another fantastic OXO product. I’ve been meaning for some time to replace our apple divider which mysteriously went missing last year. I enjoy juicing a few times a week in the morning and apples are a key component of my juice. Having been blown away by their ice cube trays (do I need to get out more?) it was with little hesitation that I went with another OXO product. I don’t think there will ever be an apple divider that will be easy to clean manually (this one is dishwasher-safe) simply due to the shape of the inner part of the wedge, but I do love the ease with which you can handle these “Good Grips” line of products. Wash your apple and de-core it, perfect wedge size for dropping down the shute of an Omega juicer. Perfect wedge size for a snack for the kids. The grips allow you to put the small amount of force required to go through the apple without hurting your hands like rounded edges on plastic handles may do. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.
Thank you OXO for making affordable and practical kitchen gadgets.
Update – Feb 2018 – after only 10 months of use this product has broken, the metal middle has completely detached and looks bent and it is no longer usable, moving on to try another company’s product and reducing my rating to 3-stars.

One of my character flaws is my inability to properly cut apples…this has solved that problem. Works for small to large apples, as long as it can fit within the diameter, it will be sliced. Easy to use, easy to clean, and seems quite durable. Very impressed and recommend to save your fingers. I wish I had bought this sooner!

Difficult for me to eat a whole apple and and have to eat it in slices. This makes slicing much more convenient and quick for the on the go. For the price, you really can’t go wrong.
Cleaning is not the easiest but it doesn’t require much effort. Product overall is well made and seems like it will last. I highly recommend it.

This apple divider is brilliant!
Over the years i’ve had a few of these and they’re so practical. The blades are sharp but not sharp enough to cut yourself and very easy to clean.
The rubber handles provide a great grip and even a child can slice up an apple without hurting themselves.
Since I am eating more apples nowadays it saves me a lot of time cutting it up with a knife.
I will say however that the final part of the apple isn’t cleanly cut. After slicing you have to pick apart the pieces, but that isn’t that big of deal as it only takes a couple of seconds to release all of the evenly cut pieces.
Great product… I will definitely buy again if i need to.

I spent an inordinate amount of time researching apple slicers and took a chance on the Oxo model.
It’s very well made and a good size which means it should accommodate a wide range of apple sizes.
The blades are sharp and, whilst a bit of pressure is required to slice through the apple, it does the job perfectly.
Some reviews have mentioned apple slicers not cutting the whole apple, however in my first 3 attempts, this model sliced all the way through the apple.
The handles are raised which helps to ensure you don’t cut your fingers and makes it easier to press down without hurting your fingers.
It’s worth noting that other products have left users with nasty cuts due to the blades detaching from the outer frame. This model uses metal blades which are moulded into hard plastic (as opposed to the other 100% stainless steel models) therefore I think there is less risk of this occurring.
If you’re looking for a reasonably priced apple slicer, this one is ideal.

OXO makes great household and kitchen appliances. I always figured they only made stock cubes, for the longest time. Glad to be proven wrong though.
I’ve used apple slicer / corers in the past, often really cheap ones coloured green or red and shaped like a generic apple, perhaps you’ve seen them? They all break in no time at all, the plastic eventually snaps or shatters from use. They’re also not particularly nice to grip and use, they lack ergonomic handles and it often hurts your hands just applying force to the apple itself.
Not so with this, the handles are really comfortable and easy to use and you can apple more force overall when using it, the whole thing is sturdy enough to go through apples like no tomorrow. It’s a good item to have around your house – fruit is healthy and apples are cheap! The slices and coring just makes it more fun.

I love this so much. I used to never eat apples just because it was such a hassle to slice it and I hated eating it full, but now all I eat are apples and pears. I also love this especially because it makes packing my lunchbox so much easier and less time-consuming in the morning! I just put it in the dishwasher overnight to use the next day and it turns out perfectly fine, nice and clean and sturdy. Overall, love this product (definitely recommend!)

Ok, but not perfect. It doesn’t take into account different sizes of the apple. So I ended up having to use another knife to cut the sides of part of my apple. I think I’ll still keep it tho

I had trouble with this one. If your apple is remotely wonky it’s hard to get the slicer to slice straight down, which meant I would end up going off course and slicing through the core itself. It also doesn’t slice all the way through the apple for me which gives a rather messy result. It doesn’t feel unsafe to use but I do have to put some body weight into it to get it to slice. Does generally make eating apples easier and more accessible but this slicer just felt blunt and unsteady to use compared to others I’ve seen. I’ve bought a few OXO products as they always seem to rate well on amazon but I think this one missed the mark for me.
