Bought to separate (or at least control) fats/oils from long and slow smoked meat when I’ve wrapped them. Works as advertised, and my jus or gravy results are just as good but lighter in texture! The only thing I’ll monitor is the rubber stopper – feels like the type of rubber that could go bad if you don’t care for it, so immediate cleaning will be my practice!

I love this design and the plug stays closed in between releases. Besides separating fat from gravy stock I also use it to dispense Yorkshire pudding batter which is much tidier than spooning.

Great for Sauces and Jus

While it’s the best I’ve had, I do wish the lip/strainer would sit tighter. After you squeeze the trigger and release the good juices from the bottom, which is great, if you want to use the fat to marinade whatever you are cooking or dispose of it, you have to either remove the lid or hold on to it. Just a minor thing but otherwise it’s so much better than any similar item I’ve owned.

Easy to use, easy to clean, filter takes all the big chunks out, not much more to say. Only used it 3 times so I can’t vouch for durability but it seems pretty substantial for the price.

I recently ordered one of these to replace a Cuisipro fat separator with a similar bottom-emptying design. The Oxo version is MUCH better. The mechanism in the Cuisipro is so poorly designed it stops lifting the plug off the hole when it gets warm, which is obviously a problem for a fat separator used with hot liquids. The Oxo works like a champ and provides a fast flow from start to finish, every time. My only concern is the silicone insert in the mechanism may eventually wear out.

So quick for fat to settle on top

Excelente alternativa para reducir grasa en los alimentos. Me ha sido de gran utilidad, es muy fácil de usar, resistente.

Just have to know when to stop to prevent fat from escaping down the spout. Both parts clean really well in the dishwasher; even the strainer will all kinds of goop. Quick tip about the drain spout: Use something like a twist tie to have the handle remain activated so that the spout remains open. Then put the whole thing in the dishwasher or hand wash. Leave the sprout like that to dry. I leave it like that until the next use.

Easy to use – does what it’s supposed to do which is to seperate the fat from the meat juices. Wish I’d gotten one of these sooner.

This is my first gravy /fat separator. SO easy to use. It strains unwanted particles, allows you to see the separation of fat and gravy and easily drains the gravy into your gravy boat while retaining the unwanted fat. Hallelujah! No mess, no drips and so quick. Washes up easily. Silly, silly me for not discovering the Oxo Good Grips Good Gravy Separator long ago!

I didn’t know how I felt about this weird spouty bottom style. I was torn between this version or the gardener pouring style.
I really like the sieve, helps keep big chunks and useful to hold a cheesecloth flat.
Easy to pour gravy deliciousness out and while keeping all the Fat out. I really like the bigger size too.
It’s actually really easy to clean.
