This is the best gadget ever!
I don’t know how there could be any bad reviews on it at all. The pit remover is awesome. It’s much better than trying to remove it with a knife or spoon. For people that said they had difficulty using it/it didn’t work it’s probably because you do still have to put the pit remover in with some pressure/force so it actually digs into the pit.
I will admit the slicer portion took a few tries to get the technique right, but since I’ve figured that out it’s easiest thing ever. That little set back isn’t even enough for me to tan a star away. The slices are perfect for salads and sandwiches or giving to your kids!
In my opinion it’s completely worth it!

I wanted to like this, I really did. Unfortunately, using a good sharp knife and spoon to dish up my avocados is soooo much easier. This just turns ripe avocados in to mush, so it begs the question of what type of avocados you’re supposed to be using it on, and why on earth would you want to be cutting up *unripe* avocados?! Also, I don’t have a dishwasher, and it’s a pain to clean, compared to a knife and spoon. And a knife and spoon is far faster. I waited a few weeks (and many avocados) before reviewing this, but alas, my opinion has not changed. I would have returned it, but I unthinkingly threw out the packaging. Looks like it’ll get shoved in the back of a cupboard, where all the gimmicky stuff lives.

    Cons:
-sometimes hard to push through last little bit. But getting better at it.
-hard to get through avocados that are not ripe. But still works
    Pros:
-it keeps hands way cleaner, when cutting.
-it gets right down to the peal. No leftovers.
    -nice size slice when cut
-pit remover works great and keeps hand cleans
    -plastic knife cuts well

What a well thought tool. Works way better than I thought it would. I’d buy another in a second. Oh wait a minute showed to my girlfriend. Now I am ordering her one. She loved it to.

    Best invention for avocados ever!!

    Highly recommend. Great quality.

The slicer is great since it reduces the potential for injury when slicing an avacado.

The pip remover is a bit awkward but it works after a couple attempts.

Not a fan of the slicer mechanism. I think it would work better if it flexed a little bit during the slicing process as the ends of the slices are always mangled after I’m done.

Save your time and money…this is not a genuine Oxo Product…packing not genuine, poor manufacturing, poor quality and doesn’t have the standard Oxo embossed Trademark on the item. I ordered another at the same time from a reputable Kitchen Supplier and the two are chalk and cheese. The other arrived in proper Oxo Packaging with proper instructions and reference to Product Trademark Numbers etc, quality and finishing is infinitely superior and the product has the usual Oxo Trademark. Postscript – the flimsy blades broke into Avocado on second time of using and could be dangerous!

As good as it gets now, despite strange appearance this does the job. Even the stone remover, you can’t see in the photo but the blades ‘screw into’ the stone to pull it free.
This would have five stars if we had not previously owned the wire mandolin version nobody sells any longer. This model is a little less finessed, but still slices, just a little mushing of ripe avocado. We still use it though, so more like 4.5 stars.

After using this for a couple of years and slicing hundreds of avocados, I’ve come back to upgrade from 4 to 5 stars. It really does work very well on firm and over ripe avocados. Cleans easily (dishwasher safe) and does exactly what is required.

My wife uses it. Seems good so far… it’s a littke tricky to clean (if sticky substance adheres to the slicer) but not overly difficult to clean.

So far, it’s maintaining its sharpness

    Will update if anything changes

This thing is great, and I don’t usually like kitchen gadget-y things. It’s great for every step in the avocado disheveling process. Even hard avocados it will be able to slice up. Depending on the size of the avocado you might want to apply a little extra pressure around the avocado skin so you don’t leave behind any of the fruit behind.

Im a Doctor and became aware of a New medical hand injury called ” Avocado Hand”- basically there is a sudden increase in Hand lacerations when cutting avocados- The greasyness makes the hand slip, when trying to remove the central stone.

Having started a recent health drive, and enjoying avocados I wanted to avoid having an avocado hand.

This product is brilliant the plastic knife is serated and not sharp on the fingers – but able to cutthe avocado

The best bit and safety is the handle and spikes- These grab the stone and the hole you see can push the stone out in bin.

And then the tennis racket side helps you remove strips of avocado in jiffy

This item was sold out and I can see why – Well worth having and worth the wait- Hopefully no avocado hand injury here

Great concept but dissatisfied in initiating the process.
    1. The knife is VERY sharp, they DO warn you. For cutting the skin off.
    2. The stone removal knives are EVEN sharper and NOT that effective in grabbing the stone.
    3. The slicer is rather pathetic, the blades are too thick. If the avocado is ripe for eating, it mashes
the meat Instead of slicing. If it were harder it may cut uniform slices but the avocado would be
    underripe.
    Overall, disappointing ☹️

I’ve used a lot of Avocado gadgets but this one is top of my list! I love avocados in general and can do all of this with a knife as well but it definitely makes life easier. Cutting is easy, the middle section to extract the seed is effortless, the slicer gets it done in one swoop. I highly/definitely recommend. This is one of those things that I didn’t know I needed until I got it. Not that cutting an avocado was difficult to begin with but a great upgrade for those that love avocados!

LOVE IT. I want to give it six stars. Purchased for me by my 13 year old son a Christmas gift. (so thougthful). I wish I had one of these years ago. Best ever because it is great for both the little avocados we get here in Canada, and perfect for the larger Caribbean avocado/ ‘pears’ I am now favoring (the taste is so much better at every stage of ripeness). Love, love, love this tool — it makes eating healthy more fun than ever. No more mushiness on my fingers, or weird shaped pieces when making a salad. I use a knife to push the pit off the remover spikes, and to then make the final push against the grate in order to get the slices completely out of it, without breaking off and wrecking the nice shape it makes.
At first it bugged me that the slices remained a little stuck at the end of the scooping process, until I realized that this actually holds them so you can begin to fan them out if you want to on top of whatever you are making – avo toast, eggs, salad, or just as is on bed of greens. Honestly this is now my favorite tool in my drawer. I just clean it with a brush or bottle brush to avoid cutting myself on the spikes, or pop into top rack of dishwasher. You need one of these, and so do all your avocado-loving friends.

I use it every time I have to cut an avocado. It’s great quality and really easy to use. (Don’t expect it to get all the avocado out, but it definitely gets most). The best bit is the middle bit for getting the pit out: I always used to struggle with that when using only a knife! Fine in the dishwasher. Highly recommend.
