Does not stick well on to back of laptop or desktop monitor – keeps calling off during calls! Also, much smaller than it looks from the picture, so you probably need two of them.
Canadian Buyer –
I now own two, power and colour are easy to set, battery life is great, diffuser works well. You won’t need full power, they dial down nicely.

I spent ages researching a light for my PC and laptop to address the variable lighting as I spend a lot of time on video calls and delivering training.
I settled on the Lume Panel Mini due to the functionality (brightness, warmth, ability to run off internal battery or powered from the USB cable, clear digital display on the back showing light levels and battery time remaining – not that I have been using it on the battery).
It is extremely well made and the silicone/latex diffuser is really good and protects the light whilst still allowing free access to the control button and scroll wheel.
I haven’t had any issues at all with the suction mount but it is fixed to either a totally flat 27’’ HP monitor or the same on a 15’’ laptop both with matt surfaces. In fact it is exceptionally strong and well made as a mount. I have mounted the light directly above my high res pop up camera on the PC monitor and keep it plugged into a USB port to power it from there. It works perfectly, is silent (none of that slight buzzing you can sometimes get from LEDs), it didn’t come with a bag were I to transport it and for the cables but I can live with that. I have mounted it ‘landscape’ but there is a screw hole at the ‘portrait’ end to mount it that way too and it would fit easily onto a Gorilla Pod for example if you wanted to use it for close up photography of things. It only weights 80gms so very minimalist in that regard.
For the build quality, functionality and ease of use generally I think it’s well worth the money. If you want to light a studio then this obviously isn’t the thing to use but for video conferencing it’s great and the box even says it’s for that purpose.
Amazon Customer –
Light itself works fine, but the suction cup loses its stickiness too quickly and doesn’t respond well enough to wetting/air drying.
Have had to bungee-cord it in place as it repeatedly falls off. This is very disappointing considering the $250 price tag for this item. Although a tripod may fix the issue, it is another $60-70 that I do not think I should have to spend.
Disappointed.

I am a Canadian educator looking to improve lighting in my education studio during the synchronous teaching of my students. After testing the Lume Cube Conference Lighting Kit for a week I found the following weaknesses:
a) The black suction cup with light will not stay stuck on the back of the screen of an Apple iMac computer. The light seems to be too heavy for this small sized suction cup. I decided not to use duct tape and crazy glue.
b) The light quality was great. However, the auto heat sensor regularly turned off the light in the middle of my video conferences. No settings fixed this design flaw.
I shipped this Lume Cube Video Conference Lighting Kit back to Amazon.ca and received a full refund.

I had to buy two of these because just one was not sufficiently bright for my zoom conferencing requirements on a large screen monitor. It’s an amazing product however, like some other buyers have commented, the suction base does fall off sometimes.

This is a nice little light, but it won’t stick to the back of my iMac because it’s curved. So be warned: make sure you’re going to attach it to a completely flat surface. The suction cup is very picky.
Ron S –
The suction cup only worked the first day and then would not hold the light on the lab top and it keeps falling off
The light brightness is excellent but the scation is useless.
Not useable, I need to return it
Kevster –
I mounted my light on a tripod behind my monitor, and the only way to turn it on is to get out of my chair, lean over the monitor and press the on button. Whilst this is possible during an incoming video call, it looks very unprofessional. The alternative is to keep the caller waiting whilst you faff about turning on your lighting, or leaving it on and constantly shining in your face all day. No remote is available, nor app control, and because it’s battery powered, you can’t link it up to a wi-fi controlled 240v plug with an adaptor and control it that way. So it works ok for when your making a call, but it is pretty poor design for receiving them. Which considering it’s specifically meant for video conferencing, is disappointing.

I bought this item to replace a cheaper alternative I had tried. Although the ‘Lume Cube’ is considerably more expensive than the other product, the functionality justifies the extra cost. I haven’t had any problems with the unit not remaining fixed to my MacBook Pro. Actually, it takes some effort to remove it! Battery life seems good, and the charging cable USB-C adapter is a handy addition.
The controls tone and brightness are user-intuitive and easily accessible. One criticism/ oversight… no carry case for portability.

First, the light itself is fine. It really does improve video-conferencing illumination.
But most of the time, I can find my Lume Cube on the desk behind my screen. Why? Because the suction cup doesn’t work. It falls off the screen. Every. Single. Time. I’ve tried the interventions enumerated here and elsewhere. Do they work? Not really. Maybe it gives me another 90 seconds before the thing tumbles off the back of the screen. I wish I had better news. But the suction cup mount is ineffective.

The fitting is great value for money: to have dim functionality and colour temperature adjustment for under £70 is a real bargain. Plus, it works very well.
The controls are a little small, but good quality. The LCD screen is also small but very clear.
The light is bright yes, though whether it is sufficient for your setup depends on the ambient light in the space, how far it is from your face etc.
The suction cup is super adhesive, though I opted not to use it. Suggest reading the instructions of how to maximise its operation. It even worked on the back of my Surface Pro!
You might want to consider getting the clip I’m showing in the my photos, really useful alternative fixing.
I tried a few other similar product, but this takes the top spot for quality, I am impressed and happy to recommend it.

The positives:
– Super compact and light-weight. Doesn’t eat up too much space on your desk
– Suction is very good (provided you are using it on a smooth & clean surface
– LEDs are powerful and color temperature has very good variation. Useful for different skin tones.
The negatives:
– DO NOT USE ON BATTERY FOR MORE THAN 15 mins. DEVICE WILL BECOME VERY HOT. You are good to use it for extended period as long as its connected to a power source.
VERDICT:
– Good for people who have a small work desk
– Good for people with travelling job
