Looked in store. I did not realize how difficult it is to find a belt with simple elegance. From a distance, looks like a conventional belt due to styling. The mechanism ensures the leather won’t crease with age. The colour has not faded, and it’s been a few months now

May 4th 2017: Overall it’s a nice belt, looks great and the ratchet feature make the belt very comfortable. BUT BE VERY CAREFUL when trimming it to size. It does not come with any instructions so you will have to go online to find them if you can’t figure it out. Plan to make the belt longer than normal and make several small cuts and test the belt each time as you size it to make sure the belt still engages the ratchet grooves. The ratchet grooves on the back are not long enough and you could end up without any engagement and the belt will just slip. They should add more ratchet grooves towards the end of the belt. I learned the hard way and this is my 2nd belt. I’m a size 36 and still had to leave the belt longer than normal and only get about 3 ratchet grooves of engagement. Good luck and be really careful!!!!!!

This belt has its good points and one not so good point.
Pros:
The belt buckle is nice looking and is not as heavy as some of the other ratchet belts with solid buckles.
The belt material seems quite nice. It is a bit narrower that other of these belts I own and would look better with dress pants than a wider belt.
I like, and actually prefer, being able to open the belt by lifting the end of the belt buckle. I have another (different manufacturer) belt that works this way and prefer it to the one with the little latch on the bottom of the buckle (you can and do get used to opening the belt with the latch on the bottom). I just prefer lifting the belt buckle to open the belt.
Cons:
Only one that I noticed. The ratchet spots on the inside of the belt are a bit too far from the end of the belt. This makes the part of the belt that sticks through the belt buckle about 2 inches too long and makes it appear that you bought a belt that is too long for your waist.. There is not anything that can be done about that. It is what it is. It’s not gross looking, it just sticks through too much for my taste.
Overall I like the belt and the price is definitely right. I would have loved the belt if it didn’t stick so far through the belt buckle.
FOLLOW UP:
I was contacted by the seller and they were concerned that the belt was not everything that I expected. They have made a very generous offer to make up for design issue (belt sticking through the buckle too far). I have to say, without any hyperbole, that this is by far the best customer relations that I have ever experienced, on line or in person at a brick and mortar store. This seller sets the Gold Standard for sellers in my opinion.. It’s a shame that not all sellers and retailers are as concerned about their customers as is this seller.
FOLLOW UP:
The one problem with the belt that I noted above has been corrected and the notches on the inside of the belt are now in the right position and the belt no longer sticks through the belt buckle too far. I just bought three more for gifts to some friends and my brother. Great Belt – Great Buy..

I ordered 2 of these belts from WERFORU. The buckles are good and the width of the belt is a bit less than 1.25″ whereas other belts are about 1.75″. The quality seems inferior and the smell is too strong for me and I hope it will dissipate as time goes by. I will keep them anyway but would not recommend them to other buyers.

I have had the belt for about two months. The locking mechanism and the buckle has held up well however the leather has started to bubble. I sent a note to support but there is no response to this issue from them. I would try some other brand once this breaks.

As someone who doesn’t really want to spend money on belts, this is a great value.
I’ve been using the same couple of regular buckle/holes belts from Old Navy for years and decided to grab one of these sliding ones and this is pretty much better in every way for the equivalent price range.

I got this belt as I needed a brown belt to go with a black ratchet one from a different brand. The difference was noticeable & not in the best way.
The material for the belt is very thin & just trying to put it on, the latch caused damage down the length of the seams on the belt. The latch is also has its own issues where it either doesn’t want to latch or once it’s on, you can’t get it to unlatch.
For sizing, it differs greatly from my other belt as the ratchet doesn’t start until 5″ into the belt & it clicks in at the very end of the first loop. Once I got the *minimum* length that would even fit, if you ratchet to the first stop, there’s 5″ of material past my pants loop. it goes over 5″ past my first pants loop.

Highly recommend this product if you need a good versatile belt. Just got it today so I cannot speak to its durability but it’s high quality leather, and the buckle has a good weight. I’d compare it to a belt you’d pay CAD$60-90 for at Moore’s. Not overly flashy, would go perfectly with your day-to-day suits, on the golf course, or on a pair of shorts. Definitely well worth the price. Also received a 20% off coupon in the box that I’ll be using to get another colour. I have a ratchet belt (from another manufacturer) that I bought about two years ago. I never thought I buy another after having that one. It was difficult to lock an unlock the belt buckle mechanism in the proper location to achieve the size/length wanted. It also didn’t hold up very long. The mechanism which would bite into the belt to hold it’s position began to cut the belt in two in just a couple of months.
This new belt I’m reviewing here addresses all these problems and it works flawlessly. The lock/unlock mechanism is effortless to engage and disengage. The controlling mechanism to control the lock is intuitive and light-years better than the at old belt I had. Also, they’ve installed/sewn a hard plastic strip into the inside of the belt which engages the locking mechanism that bites into the back of the belt. The strip is extremely tough but flexible. Although I’ve only had the belt for about a week now, I’m confident that the belt will hold up a very long time with the new strip in place.
I’m considering buying another belt from this company in a alternate style. It’s far superior to the older generation belt I had and traditional belts which look unsightly over time due tot he buckle wearing on the eye of the belt. This new belt keeps the leather straight at all times and I can see it keeping it looking like new and un-wrinkled/worn as time goes on.
I highly recommend this product.
