We are very happy with the unit! The operating instructions for this unit was very poor; had to resort to YouTube videos to get the filter tray back into the machine after we took it out! We are able to use generic reusable cups in the unit, so that is a money saver for us. A little confusing that there is a filter base in the water reservoir but no filter unit; no instructions on changing the filter or anything, so we are using it without.

I’ve had this machine for 5 days, so far it works well.
Pros: coffee comes out nice and hot, hotter than my older Keurig. Shares a 60 oz reservoir with the carafe and the single cup. You don’t have to keep refilling the reservoir. It turns off after single cup brewing or after 2hrs for the pot,so that is some savings on electricity . Cons: its a little slower brewing because it needs to hear the water. The directions could be clearer.

This unit replaced my original Keurig Classic. Not really anything wrong with it but it was 5 yrs old and I needed a change. Had a major problem even before I plugged it in, the filter tray would not come out of the machine nor would it go back in without great force. The machine brewed perfectly but the tray or drawer was the issue, I contacted Keurig and after some serious time on the phone with technical, Keuring sent me a replacement machine. All is well and the machine works great. I would recommend this machine to all my friends and anyone else looking to buy one. Would make a great Christmas gift.

Item has already been opened…hopefully not used too! Bought this as a Christmas gift for a family member, but it arrived with the box’s seal broken and then taped back up. I can’t gift this! Will need to return 🙁

UPDATE: Having bought both models and returning the K-Duo Essentials, I have added to my review for comparison of the K-Duo vs. the K-Duo Essentials. Since writing this, the single serve side spits all over the counter top and the coffee carafe drips down the side of the pot every time you pour. Probably going to return it for this design flaw and malfunction.

    K-Duo:
The K-Duo model is worth the approx. $60 difference in price over the K-Duo Essentials. For starters, the K-Duo looks more sleek, with the addition of stainless trim, digital clock, and illuminated buttons. Next, the brew basket is more easily accessible without having to remove the entire drawer to get to it. The plastic used has a smoother matte finish; it feels and looks more durable, although all accessories still must be hand washed as there are no dishwasher compatible accessories. The water reservoir is of a better more rectangular shape which easier to manage for washing. Single serve brewing offers a special “bold” button to brew a bolder cup of coffee. Carafe brewing offers the option to schedule brew time for automatic brewing. The coffee carafe has a squared-edge spout to better eliminate drip when pouring. The K-Duo runs far more quiet than the K-Duo Essentials; both heat-up and brewing sounds are whisper quiet by comparison. K-Duo single-serve and carafe brewing can be set to as little as 6 oz. and 6 cups respectively, which can come in handy if wanting to brew a smaller carafe, or for making a stronger single-serve brew for specialty drinks (cappuccino, mocha, etc.); the K-Duo Essentials only offered a minimum of 8 oz and 8 cups. Overall, the K-Duo is well worth it in my opinion and if you can get one on an Amazon Warehouse deal you will save some money over the new list price.

    K-Duo Essentials:
One star removed from “easy to use” because water reservoir is on the backside and is awkward to fill. Really like the design and construction of this machine over it’s less expensive competitor, the HB FlexBrew. Unfortunately, and following all owner’s manual instructions, the carafe side was brewing one more cup than that selected (9 cups instead of 8, and so on). I am returning this unit and will try the upgraded model, “K-Duo” instead of “K-Duo Essentials”.

Do your research. First and foremost the k cups side of this thing makes 8 ozs of hot brown water that smells like coffee and tastes like nothing.. I can’t imagine how bad a 10 or 12 oz cup would be. Not thrilled. After doing some research on the whole kcup thing, I discovered, in the coffee world, a cup of coffee is measured differently than any other thing. I cup of Coffee is 6 ounces, not 8 ozs. of water. Here’s the problem. This machine only gives you 8,10 or 12oz options. I have been unsuccessful in my search for a kcup that makes an 8,10 or 12 oz cup of coffee. So? What’s the point? So now I have a machine that make a great pot of coffee, but I could of found that in a machine that costs 29.99. 😕 I’ve even purchased the refillable k cups and stuffed them full of my dunkin donut coffee, hoping I’d get a decent cup, but no luck with that. All in all, don’t bother. If you aren’t fond of hot brown water, you need to make sure you get a machine that offers the 4 and 6oz options. Save yourself, its too late for me✌

Was happy to see it fit the pod holder we already had.
Still trying it out but so far so good
Picture shows travel mug with base plate removed.

Edit..took away a star because after using it, i found the back tank a little annoying. Hard to access if it’s on the counter. I moved it closer to the sink and am using the pull out tap.

2nd edit… I bought an 18 inch lazy susan turntable (here on Amazon) and put the machine and cabinet on top of it. I moved it back to where I wanted it and now I just turn it around to fill it. Much better!

I just received my second Keurig KDuo,
I had to send the first one back due to none function.
With this new one, I can get the single cup brewer to work but not the carafe side, the light just stays red and nothing happens, any suggestions?

Excellent product. Single serve or a pot of if you have many guests over. Wish it had one more single brew size option. The single serve part doesn’t flip forward like the others. It’s stationary when you open the lid. As you may see in the picture I added. It’s fast, shuts off on it’s own, you can pull the pot out and pour a cup while it’s brewing. And it doesn’t have that silly sensor thing like that one unit they came out with.

What can I say, buy it. No regrets here. 😁

My old single serve keurig poured a hotter cup. I measured the temp with my oven probe, head to head with the old one and the new single serve. The old one temped our at 165F for a cup, the new one was 156F. All the same variables. I assumed the pot side would make a hotter cup, but that also temped out at 156F. I ended up returning it becUse it was very noticeable how fast my cup would go cold. I’ll keep using my old single serve keurig until I decide on a new maker.
This machine was nice to use. Loved everything about it other than what I stated above.
