Replaces identical bag used for school for 7 years. Son wanted replacement to take to university as he really likes the size and pocket sizes. All family have a Jansport bag, very pleased with quality, durability and utility.

This is the fourth of these bags I have bought, Two for my son that he used every school day in secondary school for three years each, they lasted through being thrown around day in day out, they are capable of fitting a huge amount of books which were very heavy in it. They are great , Other back packs he had in national school which held far less and were not treated so badly only lasted around a year. The other two were for my grandson, his first one also lasted three years being used in secondary school and I have just bought his second one. I am sure it is going to last just as long.
Thats not bad going two bags each for their full 6 years at secondary school. I would recommend these to anyone

Great bag for school. It’s tough wearing and has lots of compartments to separate stuff. I’m very happy with this purchase and it’s good value for money. Would recommend !

Love this bag. A discreet section for your laptop. The straps are very comfortable- i found that it to have good weight distribution. It is a tad bigger than I anticipated though. I wore the backpack for 8+ hours walking around the city and my shoulders weren’t as sore as I anticipated.

The zipper is only on one of the teeth tracks while the other one has completely separated from it about 1.5 months in. This happened during a lecture when I was packing up everything, including my laptop. Made the entire compartment useless and the backpack swing loosely against my back. I really liked the size of this backpack, it could fit everything I needed it for without much hassle, its a shame its basically useless now.

Honestly, this is a great backpack, especially if you have a lot of stuff to carry around. The name says it all! It personally was too big for me and I found that it looked very bulky and bad on my shoulders, but I also did not need to take that much stuff with me to school every day so it felt a little unnecessary. For someone with a lot of stuff though, it may be a great option!

Best rucksack I’ve ever owned. I bought this in 2011 and I’m only now starting to think of replacing it in 2017. Huge amounts of storage space and it handles wear and tare very well. It got me through a masters degree, a PhD, several international trips, and moving country! I love it so much that I’m going to replace it with the exact same model! Highly recommended.

I bought this knowing that I needed some more space in my backpack as a student. Since I am not home for most of the day, I like carrying everything I need around campus. I actually ended up using this backpack to go on multiple trips, and it carried enough stuff for 2 people. Because it is a big backpack that can carry lots of things, I wish the straps were designed a bit more ergonomically. Another complaint would be lack of a laptop pocket, but I use a laptop sleeve anyway. Overall, it’s a great durable bag.

We’ve purchased other backpacks, but Jansport is really great quality. We had bought one for our oldest daughter and it outlasted all the other backpacks.
This one is huge too, so for students this will fit a laptop, books, and lunches.
Highly recommended – it’s worth the price for good quality.

Pros about the Black bag(the one I bought online);
– it’s many compartments
– it’s in all black
– it’s cheaper
– the side pocket holes are smaller
Cons compared to the Purple bag(Bought In-store;
– it’s smaller then my purple bag(laptop fits easier in purple backpack – has space with the laptop case, Black backpack – have to push the laptop case in)
– the strap adjuster on the purple bag is easier to use(and has the cute JanSport written on it)
Overall, I like it and I’m satisfied, plus I prefer to carrying around a black bag

I bought this bag because I thought it would be bigger and better than the standard JanSport, but it turned out to be pretty much the same thing only a bit larger and with maybe 2 more pockets. It DOES NOT have a laptop sleeve type compartment and NO pockets or anything inside the bag. I find that to be pretty impractical since this is called a “Student Backpack” as it would not be that great for a student.
I think if the bag is filled with textbooks, laptop, etc. it might actually break. Not good quality material.
It’s just your basic JanSport, but bigger. You are paying for the brand. It doesn’t have much to offer, there are way better quality bags out there you can buy for cheaper.

Excellent quality, space for the heavy parts of the weekly shop and it doesn’t complain. LOTS of pockets. Comfortable to wear. The only thing I miss is a laptop pocket in the main compartment. (I never used it for laptops in my previous Jansport, just documents as it kept them neat.) My previous Jansport backpack gave up the ghost (zip in the external pocket broke so i needed safety pins, rest of pack is fine and still useable as designed) after 4 or 5 years and I bought this different type for the increased number of external pockets. I give it 5 stars and mean it but it would be really nice if I could have that laptop pocket, I found it so useful!
The largest external pocket is actually almost large enough to be classed as a third compartment.
The net pocket has broken at the bottom after a few months – but then so did the old one. It isn’t a deal breaker for me, just a bit irritating

I’m a high school student and my small vans bag just wasn’t cutting it for all my supplies.
I wanted something bigger, something with more space, and this bag has it all!
As soon I opened the bag I was amazed with the SIZE it is so spacious and has so many great useful departments!
The more I explored the more I kept finding useful departments, it also has a water bottle holder which is perfect!
It has great quality, feels very supportive on my back.
