The product photo for this item clearly shows two lines attached, one for physical support and the other for electrical connection. The delivered product has only one line, the one for electrical connection. The electrical connection line is lightweight and will likely not support the weight without leading to premature failure.
I will test performance shortly and update this review as necessary.

This is a factory humminbird ice transducer,
The only thing I would change is the cable. It feels kind of soft and cheesy. Maybe it’s like that for a reason. All around good piece

It came in a brand new box but the wire was cut in half!? I fixed it because I’m good like that and now it works like a new one that wasn’t cut in half.

The cable rubber coating is cheep, in comparison to a vexillar, additionally, the cable plugs in, which seems to be a probable point of failure compared to the vexillar which is thread in place via a screw in plug.

Overall setup, compared to a conventional flasher, provides significant technological advantages. What you give up in robustness and durability is made up in significant superior sensors and data acquisition.

I use a Humminbird 597ci HD with this transducer. I’ve got three pieces of feedback. First, if you are fishing by yourself (i.e. no other Vexilar’s, Marcum’s, other flashers are around) this ice fishing rig works fantastic. Besides using the flasher I’ve found one feature on the 597 which I use to out fish many others. The RTS window. RTS stands for Real Time Sonar and it operates at the maximum signal speed as the rest of your chart scrolls to the left. I’ve used this feature to immediately see larger Crappie’s and in a large school can pull the bait up and out of the school to entice only the most aggressive fish to bite. Great feature.

Now for the two things I didn’t like. First, if you are in a Clam or other shack and your fishing buddy has another unit the 597 ice rig picks up ALL the interference and becomes very difficult/bordering on unusable. Would love to help Humminbird work out their product kinks with some product R&D on this issue as it is great solo, but close to worthless when it’s -20 below and you have a fish buddy fishing a hole two feet away.

The last issue I had was the connector cable. I’ve attached a picture of what happened after the first ice outing. There are supposed to be two cables attached, but the design doesn’t work well with the ice buildup. A Vexilar or Marcum flasher cable is designed as a single cable; why can’t a company who puts out great products like Humminbird do likewise?

I love Humminbird products; in fact sold my HDS 7 from Lowrance so I can add a 999 to my console on my boat. Love the 597ci HD on my boat and hard water fishing if alone. Other units though leaves a lot to be desired. RTS fishing is great to try.

Works great with my piranhamax 197c. When it says no transducer connected and tries to go into simulation mode just set it to normal mode. Then have the finder set to 200khz.

Stopped working after only 4 trips on the ice. I ordered the transducer at the end of Oct 2018 for a Christmas gift for my dad. Before he even got to use the transducer the return window was closed. Transducer broke at the end of January 2019. Very disappointed since it was somewhat of an expensive item. Expected better quality from Hummingbird.

Wasn’t sure at first if it was actually for my model Helix. Was a little concerned about quality since it was much cheaper then the same product on other sites. However, it has been absolutely fantastic. Haven’t had any issues with it so far.
