This unit arrives fully assembled in a simple cardboard box as I show in the images. Raising it is easy by gripping both sides and lightly pulling up. You have a good range of height. Once intended it swivels front to back, but does not lock the angle of lean at any point. Bringing it back down in height is a manual process as well by putting your foot on the middle floor tab and pulling toward you.
The depth of the footrest portion is definitely long enough for most every average foot length and incredibly wide even with shoes or slippers on. Before I purchased this for home I had something similar at the office. I knew after only a few weeks I missed a good ergonomic footrest but kept waiting. Eventually it took its tool with trying to rest my feet on the catch under the desk the window sill, the chair near the desk and other oddities.
This solved that need the very first day of usage. It has held up no the carpet and hardwood rooms in both pushing, moving, sliding and tilting. If anything breaks I will update the review.
Well worth the investment for the home office!

Sitting at my desk, minding my business, when all of the sudden, my foot rest collapses. A quick look underneath and the metal pin that allows it to change height has become dislodged (literally without me moving my feet) and I can’t find a way to get it back in and lined up properly. I’ve had this less than a year, and now it’s flat and useless. I would have honestly expected it to last longer. It served me well when it was working, but now it’s complete garbage. So wasteful.

It should clearly mention in the product description that this footrest needs a carpet / rug underneath so that it doesn’t slip away from your feet every single minute. Trust me, that is no fun and totally defeats the purpose of a rest! This way, manufacturer would set up the expectations and I wouldn’t be as disappointed. so beware.

I ordered this because I added a seat cushion to my gaming chair, so the seat has become higher, and my feet were no longer resting naturally on the floor. With this though, I can rest my feet and things are more comfortable now. What I didn’t expect is that the surface tilts all the time, and there is no lock to hold it in certain angle, but I guess this way is better, as you don’t have to keep adjusting it, and gives you the freedom to move your feet with the surface.

It’s a great alternative to any DIY footrests I’ve tried: I used tables, chairs, boxes, steps etc.
Sometimes I like to drop my chair at a low level kick back and watch a movie, and raise my legs to chill. This surface is very hard. My legs are heavy (I’m ~250lb, and my body shape is legs-heavy) the bumps start hurting at some point in that “relaxed” low-bottom-high-legs position — call it kickback position. It’s fine when I’m sitting at a normal sitting position.
Construction seems solid, I’m confident that it can last a long time. I trust this footrest to hold my legs for years to come.
It is NOT an ergonomic footrest. I sit on a Herman Miller chair and the contrast in comfort between my bottom and my feet is a bit annoying (especially in the kickback position), I would humorously claim that I’d rather sit on a less comfortable chair to make the experience more homogeneous.
It is very easy to collapse and raise, and quite fun to do so. The context switching cost is low, and it is easy to put away and save space.
$50 is too much. Honestly, I feel like there’s a very big markup, but it’s 2020 in Canada so that may be justified.
The possible positions in which I can place my feet is endless. I can let my legs relax, knees almost straight, relaxed as I’m sitting on a hill, they won’t slip (bare feet, no socks). I can have a productive position, or I can just rest my calves on it. It’s easy to move aroun0d and not get stuck in 1 position.
The surface is hard plastic and very easy to clean unlike rubber that will accumulate bacteria.
If you have heavy legs, and don’t like to move around, the little bumps may get uncomfortable. If you’re the time of person who moves around a lot, then I don’t think it’s a problem.
This is just not in the same league as the big boys, such as Herman miller. It’s a brilliant affordable alternative, however and would not hesitate buying it again.
I would be careful using this with an office chair without wheel locks, since you may get pushed back easily if you like to push againstthe footrest.
The rubber under the footrest is good enough to keep it from slipping, it probably needs occasional cleaning since dust will render the rubber useless.
It’s light weight.
When adjusting the height, it is clunky, but that’s to be expected at this price tag.
The movementof the surface, however feels quite natural and pleasant when my legs are on it.
I suspect it’ll need some maintenance over time, not sure how long it’d take before it’s required. Perhaps lubrication and cleaning of the hinges. It’ll depend on your household level of dust and pet fur. But the surface should protect the mechanics from FALLING dust.

I use it under my desk while gaming. My prior option was to stretch out and put my feet on the baseboards.
This little bad boy takes the tension off of my lower back for long periods of gaming. It’s adjustable enough to dial in, easy enough to change settings and has a neat ripple feeling to the foot board so when I take off my shoes I get good grip and texture.
It’s fairly cheep feeling plastic but sturdy enough to do the job. I like the pivoting, when I first purchased I thought it locked into place as far as the angle goes. After experiencing it I’m glad this is not the case.

Buyer beware: Immediately decided to return upon taking it out of the box. As someone who works from a desk daily, I was extremely disappointed at the quality when I received the footrest. Wouldn’t want someone to spend their hard earned money even if this was available at severely lower cost.
Pros:
-good for ergonomic seating
Cons:
-cheap, flimsy plastics
-creaks very loudly with even the slightest movement of feet
-lowering height of foot rest can sometimes be difficult despite following instructions
-large changes in the 3 adjustable heights (difficult if you’re looking for a height somewhere in between two settings)

I don’t mind that it rocks/moves/tilts, it’s good for when I want to change leg position. My two complaints are that there is a part that sticks out the front, and depending on how my chair rolls up to my desk each time, the foot of my chair was always hitting it. Secondly, whenever I would push it away or pull it closer it would slip out of the height position and I’d have to reset it. Both issues were fixed by turning it around (so the back faces me), but it still works becuase it tilts both ways. Just seems like a design flaw though.

This foot rest is very sturdy and I like that I can even stretch my legs out since it can angle forward as you move your legs. This is just one component of my ergonomic setup at home. I need to raise my chair high enough where my neck and shoulders aren’t straining to use my keyboard and mouse. This means my chair is too high for my legs, but the footrest makes up for it.

I have very short legs… They are so short when I sit on the bus they dangle like a child. So when I got an office job sitting in a chair all day was unbearably painful. I shifting, squirming and fidgeting so much my productivity was going down and I was really miserable. I tried using an upside down recycle bin as a foot rest but that was not comfortable.
So I found this and was intrigued! Adjustable? Yes. Ergonomic? Check. Doesn’t slide back when pressure is put on it? Check.
This foot rest completely solved my problem of an aching lower back and legs that were just on fire all day. I have it resting on it’s highest height and that is perfect for me and my legs that are maybe 3 feet long. I like that the footrest can swivel back and forth too so I can flex my legs while I sit.
I have no complaints about this product and I highly recommend it.

I bought this for my wife, who recently had a hip replacement. She is quite petite, and her feet do not touch the floor in most chairs. This foot rest relieves stress on her hip and thigh, making sitting much more comfortable and safer. Highly recommended for anyone who needs a foot rest and in particular for those recovering from hip or knee replacements..

It is not sturdy at all. You should keep both your feet on and perfectly banlance them so it wont fall to a side or other.
The mecanism lock works fine and keep it on the same level.
Made of plastic. The top is sturdy but the mecanism under is not very good and seems like it is loose.

This product didn’t work for me, but it is nevertheless a good product. My needs revolve around an arthritic condition in my feet and the hard surface wasn’t good for my pain points. However if I wasn’t limited by my condition, this would have worked well for my purposes. Overall it’s a product I would recommend to others whose needs profile is more compatible.
