New great design and easy to use. Comes with great features and an excellent laptop for working and gaming. A+++++

This computer can run skyrim at max power/graphics/etc with 75+ mods without even a stutter in the frame rate. It cannot stream at a high quality, but after messing with some settings it appears to be able to stream at a medium-low quality with no issues. The battery life is fine, it lasts decently long, especially when playing high-drain games. So far, it’s taken most of what I’ve thrown at it like a champ, including the brick and feral squirrel 🙂
Oh, and the sound quality is amazing! Actually better than my partner’s computer, which was a more expensive model, haha.

Pretty good, for those that are wondering. When I received this laptop, it only arrived with an M.2. No sata. Housing for the sata, but no sata only a blank box so the housing could mount. Still a solid computer, good for gaming and strong fans. Easy maintenance, thermal pads and paste are easily accessible. All though this was bought at walmart and everyone including these people have upped the price, but still a solid computer for the extra $200+ they slapped on it. This is an hp originally sold at walmart for around 545 dollars. Hope this review is helpful, enjoy the laptop.

This device has 200GB memory availible and if you upgrade it the warantee will not be vwlid anymore( I called the HP and they told me that)
So if you wan’t something without warantee or you are ok with 200GB buy this product

I was able to run Sims 4 and all of my expansion and game packs with no issues whatsoever. The game now starts quick and loads faster. It’s great for both gaming and school work. I like the thin, sleeker design. The battery is pretty good depending on what you’re doing and the light up keyboard allows me to see what I’m doing even in dimly lit rooms. I’ve had no issues whatsoever with it. Very happy I bought this laptop

This has been a great computer, plays everything that I’ve thrown at it, not at top specs but more then enough for me. Thermal control is better then expected, it can be a little loud but nothing near my last asus ROG machine. I upgraded to 16GB ram and windows ran better but didn’t notice a ton in games.
Pros:
-Bang for your buck
-USB-C
-easy to upgrade
-Looks like a gaming laptop without being obnoxious
-Power brick is really compact for this type of computer
Cons:
-The middle hinge is a little scary, you have to open it from the middle. If you open it with the corners it flexes the screen a lot.
-Wish the power button was on the side so I don’t have to open it when it’s plugged into my monitor
-Battery life is good for a gaming laptop but realistically 3-4 hours of normal use. 1-2 hours of gaming maybe.
-USB-C isn’t thunderbolt

Had to return 2 of them before deciding on a different brand. First one didn’t charge, second one randomly broke down. Don’t waste your time with HP.

THIS IS LAPTOP. IT IS GOOD LAPTOP. IT PLAYS MANY GAMES, ALTHOUGH THERE ARE DEFINITELY MUCH MORE POWERFUL GPUS TO BE FOUND IN MORE EXPENSIVE LAPTOP. I AM HAPPY. IT IS PRETTY.

I play some heavy games with mods and this computer runs sooo smoothly!! Bought it at a discounted price of $799 and it was a steal! Even the regular price is worth it!

Good computer, Numlock doesnt have physical indicator light (like caps lock) but it is fine.
Runs well starts up quick.

It’s best budget gaming laptop only available at Amazon.
Fast, Quick,Secure,
It’s fast as compared to dellG3.
It’s less attractive then HP omen series but it’s okay when it’s came to price.

For what it’s worth, it’s a pretty good computer if you’re a casual gamer with ~$1200 to spend. Games (and other programs) generally boot up quickly and run smoothly on high/ultra settings. I don’t play the most ‘graphically advanced’ games, per se, but as a measurement of quality, WoW runs fantastically on high/ultra settings.
I absolutely love the sleek, unique but simple design it’s got; I appreciate the refreshing green and black color palette. The green backlit keys are honestly beautiful. The keyboard font is a little funky (the A is just an upside-down V, the @ sign is more square-like), but I’ve gotten used to it. It’s kind of got that sharp, futuristic look to it.
There’s a few gripes and problems I have about this computer that you might want to know before buying though:
– Backlit keys cannot change color and do not stay on permanently.
You are able to change the brightness, but there’s barely a difference. The settings are bright, kinda bright, and off. The backlit keys only stay on for about 10 seconds till they automatically shut off. It’s most likely a powersaving thing, but it’s a little annoying when you’re trying to think of something to type and they suddenly turn off on you. They turn back on when you touch a key again, however. So, as long as you’re typing away (or gaming away), they’ll be on.
– Advertised as 256GB, got 237GB
Now, it’s not that big of a difference, but when you have so little space, every gigabyte matters.
– The USB 3.0 port on the right of the computer is wonky.
Alright, so here’s a little story. My Dropbox was getting full, so I decided to backup the rest of my files into a USB hard drive. I plugged in the USB and the device came up. However, when I tried to do anything with the files (copying files into it), the file manager window would close, and the USB device icon on the task bar would disappear completely. It’s like the USB device never existed. I tried it in the USB 3.0 port on the left and it worked perfectly. I plugged my mouse into the one that didn’t work for the hard drive… and it worked perfectly! So, I have no idea what its deal was. It might just be a fluke or just how my computer was manufactured, but potential buyers should be wary of it.
– The default display (100%) is small compared to a similar computer (17” non-gaming HP Pavilion)
I don’t know why, but the display is a lot smaller compared to my old Pavillion, despite being roughly the same size. If you try to customize it to, say, 125%, many icons, pictures in browsers, and games get a bit blurry. 125% display on this gaming computer is about the size of my old computer’s 100% display. It’s annoying, but manageable (personally).
– It does not like being turned off via power button.
I’ve found that, if you turn it off via power button (pressing it and holding it down till it’s off), it will not want to turn on the first time you press the power button again. The button will glow, but the backlit keys (if you normally have them on) and the computer itself will not turn on. It gave me a scare, but after a few more presses, it finally turned on. Again, might just be a fluke, but this is a big thing to watch out for.
Few more tidbits you might want to know:
– It does NOT have a built-in disc tray.
– You cannot change the color of the backlit keys, you’re stuck with green.
– On the RIGHT there is… a power cord port, 2 normal USB 3.0 ports, and an audio jack.
– On the LEFT there is… an HDMI port, a charging + USB 3.0 port, an Ethernet (RJ-45) jack, a USB 2.0 (Type-C) port, a memory card reader, and the drive light.
– The battery is preinstalled (already in the laptop)
All in all, if you’re willing to deal with the minor issues and are a relatively casual gamer, I would recommend this computer. If you are not into gaming, I would suggest finding something cheaper. You don’t need a laptop with these specs to do online work, a ~$700 non-gaming HP Pavilion would do just fine.
