I assumed it was a splitter… Shame on me for not reading into the details more… Well, I bought one then decided to lose it over night so I bought another one and it didn’t work as I thought… I initially bought this to get 1 cable box to two TV’s, saw the price, and realized I got what I paid for. That being said, for a switch, this is definitely a great value! Something to keep in mind (which is why I gave it 4 stars) is that it couldn’t send a constant, clear signal to a TV with a 50′ HDMI cable connection. Make sure that whatever you’re splitting is less than 10′ away 🙂

BTW: It does say it won’t split a cable box to two TV’s within the instructions… Who knew you had to use those! :S

I have purchased this HDMI splitter for switching my monitor between my two laptops when I am using both.
So far I don’t see any issue in this unit. Build quality solid and Looks good.
Also, I haven’t noticed any problem with the connection or lag. Great part, it works bi-direction and very easy to use. I am happy with my purchase and thanks to Amazon for fast delivery.

The HDMI switcher is working fine.
It is the safest choice when your equipment is up to date with today’s latest technology.
The reason is because many awesome live distributers (with picture and sound on one to four outputs at the same time) are not up to date with the latest HDCP and this causes your equipment to not work correctly or not at all!
That is the only reason I desided to go with these simple but effective switches
My switcher/distributor has no brand logo on it (by the way). Apparently it had lots of cost for the manufacturer to do so on all devices but works as it should.
Of course I was reading on this list and other lists as well here in Amazon all that tech nonsense (4K HDCP etc.) about these switchers/distributors but what they haven’t written is that these types of distributors with a switch (on top) are just switchers. They are of course a simple and good way to switch between HDMI cables without plugging and unplugging them all the time..
But there is no chip circuit inside for all these tech info they write.
I used to build switchers like that (but with RCAs or Scarts (Europe) etc.) in my younger days for pretty much same use.
The way these switchers/distributors work is that there’s the input/output HDMI (we’ll call it HDMI 1) which goes on the one side of the switch series pins (inside) connected to the main HDMI connector and the other HDMI connector (we’ll call it HDMI 2) is on the second series pins. When pressing the top button the MAIN HDMI is connected to the HDMI 2.
That is the reason that there’s no power required for this device to work and also whatever data signal your media player (DVD, PC) sends on its output (on the connected switcher) the same signal you will receive on both outputs (but not at the same time). That is the only downside with these switchers/distributors. Otherwise they’re perfect.

Beispiel: PC an HDMI-Eingang 1 links, Raspberry an Eingang 2 rechts.

Vielen Dank.

Also Fehlkauf.

So I’ve got to the stage where I’ve run out of ports on me telly. Recent addition of Switch dock has tipped me over the top and needed to add a switch. I have had (still do) ‘remote multi 4way powered splitter switches’ before and whilst they worked for some devices, found very glitchy with some inputs (Like Ps4) and i wanted something a bit more less frills that just works and it does just that. Well made, been using for a fair while now and its never let me down. I’ve positioned mine on one of the shelf’s and tacked down with some double sided tape. If i was using on other telly, i would prob have directly behind the tv,, but obv wherever you put it, needs to keep this quite accessible. No real negatives on this as still serving me well. Cant say i have experienced any picture loss, but I’m not 4k on anything either. I would deffo buy this again

Firstly, I must clarify that this product works exactly as intended, as an HDMI switch, if the the input sources both have a continuous supply of power.

In my case, however, I was trying to use this product to switch between my PC for use as a 2nd monitor and my Nintendo Switch. I found that whenever my switch was off, both the input lights would turn off and even though I was using my PC on the monitor, it would stop supplying the signal.

I further tested this by removing the 2nd HDMI cable (from the Nintendo Switch) from the switch and it turns out that it does not permit a 1-to-1 connection via the switch.

Unfortunately this renders the product useless for me, which is a shame as it seemed to work well.

Edit: I switched the cables from the Nintendo Switch and the PC around and it seems to work fine now. I’m not entirely sure why, but at least it’s working.

Good if your intention is just for pure split input purpose. You won’t be able to set your Xbox one X to 4k HDR, it will lose signal to the tv.

I bought this splitter as I was adding another games console to our TV that pushed it up to 4 HDMI connections (the TV comes with 3) and I didn’t want a complicated box that needed USB power. This little silver box does the trick perfectly with a simple push button to switch between sources.

However do note that it does not come with any kind of cables, so to plug in two pieces of equipment you will need 3 HDMI cables. I either missed this or it wasn’t noted and had to go back out and buy another. So as long as you are prepared with all the cables you need it will do the job nicely.

I purchased this HDMi mainly for switching my monitor between my PC and my laptop while I am suing both at the same time in my home.
The idea is simple and easy, 2 inputs one output.
Connect your laptop to one of the inputs and my PC to the second input and then connect the output to my screen and using a push button switch, easily switch between both.

It will be very helpful for someone has limited HDMI inputs in his TV as well , the modern TVs has a lot.

I use this to split my computer between my monitor and TV, so I can use one for work and the other for movies. Honestly, it works really well. I have mounted it to the bottom of my shelf, one quick press and it swaps over. Sometimes it doesn’t register the button properly but a simple press or two will fix it.

In case any gamers were wondering, I have not noticed ANY input lag. I play Xbox games through an internal capture card on my PC as well as PC games, I have not had any issues that I was expecting.

I am very strongly considering ordering a second one for my consoles.

Don’t be fooled by the title and the description. You cannot have two screens sharing an image (or images) from this device. It will only SWITCH between the two screens. Device packaging is also very cheap and leaves much to be desired. Device worked well enough as the in-box instructions describe (which is does mention it cannot share the image to two screens).
