I bought these pants for my tall and skinny girl. It is very good quality, soft, and warm. She usually wears a size 8 in pants, so I bought a size Med 7/8. It shrunk a half an inch to 22 1/2′ waist with 24 1/2′ inseam after washing in cold water and putting it in the dryer. It is a bit loose and long on her, but not by much. I think my daughter with get 2 to 3 years use out of these pants. There is plenty of stretch in the waist. I also bought a Large 10/12. For those who are interested in the sizing of the Large, the waist is 26″ and 28″ inseam pre-washed. There is a difference of about 3 inches between the Medium and Large, which is a lot in my opinion. A petite adult could easily fit the Large. All in all good quality pants, but wish there wasn’t such a huge difference in the next size up.

These pants are HUGE! I ordered a M because it says those fit kids size 7/8. I have attached a photo of my DDs current size 7/8 grey leggings and on the right the Hanes black size M 7/8 leggings I ordered. They don’t even stay on her waist!!!

Even though I read all the reviews and ordered a size down, I still ended up with pants I couldn’t wear. I’m a very small adult and normally wear a girl’s size 14. I saw everyone saying they ran big, so I purchased a 10/12. This would usually be extremely short on me & pushing it with the waist, however, these were HUGE. I had to return them. I thought about ordering a 7/8 but didn’t want to take another chance of them not fitting. It’s a shame too because I’ve really loved the purple color & the fleece lining without having elastic at the ankles! Get it together Hanes on the sizing and you’ll have an amazing product.

Here’s what I know. I’ve recently been diagnosed with cancer and needed something other than jeans to wear since I was going to be treated every day for 5 weeks straight. Comfort and convenience was a must. Being small to begin with and losing weight, I had no choice but to go the “sweatpants route” and look into girls sizes. I’m 61yrs old 5’2″ and weigh 95lbs. The size large fit me perfectly! The length is great with a pair of sneaks and they fit without the usual boxy look some sweatpants have. I’m a bit leary of how they may wash but for $5.00 I can leave the house, still looking stylish (no pajama bottoms!), and get things done. I’m already ordering another pair in gray. If you are within my weight and height range, go with the large, you won’t be dissapointed.
