This is a functional kettle. It isn’t worth more than it costs. The metal body is wearing well so far, and the plastic “windows” seem to be ok. The spout is nice and wide, so I get a good strong pour of boiling water. I like that the kettle boils for at least a minute before turning off. The lid is plastic and a bit cheap, I expect it will be the first thing to break on this. It will do for us until we can find the kettle that we want.

Bought in October 2018, the kettle worked well enough for 6-7 months, then the latch on the lid broke–leaving it impossible to close after filling and while heating up and pouring–unsafe!!! Amazon refused to assist, saying that it was between Hamilton Beach and myself. HB then told me that I could get a replacement but, first, I had to send them a picture of the kettle with the power cord cut off–rendering it totally unusable, and then wait three weeks for a replacement to arrive–AND I needed to send them $10 to cover shipping costs.
So, yeah, the terrible service on top of the shoddy product makes it clear to me that I will skip past any future Hamilton Beach product recommendations. The Amazon ad features the “Five Year Warranty’ but this is a come-on for what turns out to be an example of a company that makes it completely unappealing for a customer to use the warranty that it has paid for. Terrible!

tristemente el dia de ayer ya dejo de funcionar, compre esta tetera pues la marca es muy reconocida pero 6 meses y ya no funciona, no se si se quemo o bien es lo que duran y seguramente ya no tiene garantia

*2 year update*
After using this kettle daily, average 12 times a day, the lid no longer shuts. It looks like the closing device inside the lid no longer works. I still feel this is a great kettle, and has outlasted all my other models. Will buy again.

I have used countless electric kettles, and the ones I keep buying seem to always end up rusty or break. So this time I searched the interweb for as many reviews I could get. This one has always reviewed well. Money wasnt an issue for me, I just wanted a hard wearing kettle. This kettle is very light, and very fast compared to others I have owned. Also it looks really good since its mostly metal. So far its perfect, which means for me – light, fast, gets to a very high temperature, metal, well built, no rusting. Just look up the reviews online, it really is a good kettle.

This product is great..it boils in about 4 min and holds a lot of water. The water stays hot for quite a while also so it’s great for multiple tea’s or coffee’s. The switch is upside down but it’s easy to get used to. The outside of the pot doesn’t get too hot so it’s well insulated. Overall it’s a great product.

Calienta el agua rapidamente. Considero que el precio deveria ser un poco menor, aunque el seguro que tiene de apagarse automaticamente sola, fue la razón por la que la adquiri, una queja que tengo es al tratar de ver que tanta agua he vaciado no se aprecia bien debido al plastico que no es muy transparente que digamos, al menos para mis ojos.

Si eres de las personas que hasta el agua se les quema (como yo), esta tetera es perfecta. Tiene una capacidad para casi dos litros de agua (1.7 lt) unas 6 o 7 tazas de agua para té o café. Tarda un aprox. de 5 minutos y en cuanto el agua está en su punto exacto de hervor tiene un seguro que apaga la corriente eléctrica. Lo volvería a comprar.

Lo uso en un restaurante, por lo que se prende diario y muy seguido, y despues de 2 meses no ha tenido ni un solo problema, por lo que para uso domestico esta muuuy de sobra. En aprox 2 minutos ya hierve el agua, se puede apagar antes por si solo se quiere calentar sin llegar a hervir.

Me gustó porque calienta el agua en cuestión de minutos, es muy práctica y hierve el agua más rápido que poniendo una olla en la estufa. Su capacidad es de 1.7 litros.
Es un poco difícil para lavar y el instructivo no es muy claro sobre como limpiarla por dentro. Tiene un filtro para que no pasen objetos a la taza, pero su acabado deja qué desear.
En términos generales me parece una excelente opción para hervir agua sin necesidad de usar la estufa y lo volvería a comprar.

Bought this thinking it was stainless steel electric kettle, but this has large plastic parts inside that will be in contact with boiling water all the time. Also the top cover does not come off and it will be hard to clean too. I am sure Hamilton Beach can do better than this, as I had one before that worked great until it no longer was switching on.

I bought this kettle to replace an older Hamilton Beach kettle that we had for nearly 10 years, The old kettle worked perfectly for 10 years, but was getting old and so decided to buy this new kettle, also a Hamilton Beach in February 2020. It worked quite well for several weeks, and in the recent few days the water has not been taken to boiling The temperature. Stops short when water is between warm and slightly hot. Then tries to cycle thru when left on the base. Claims it has a 5 year warranty, but it seems impossible to know how to return to Amazon to get fixed.
I do not recommend this product.

First, the kettle I received is used.
Not only that, the lid is made of hard plastic.
The side where is measured the water level is made of plastic and is located on both in and outside of the kettle.
The kettle looks good in terms of a design, but I Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this, you are literally burning/heating up water with plastic in a kettle and drinking it… I’m not going to say it but I’m sure you know what I mean.

I’ve had the same Hamilton Beach kettle for the last 10 or 11 years and use it many times per day. You can’t go wrong with Hamilton Beach products. Warranty is never an issue and service couldn’t be better! You won’t be disappointed by purchasing this kettle or any other Hamilton Beach product. By the way I don’t have any affiliation with Hamilton Beach.
