I wish we would have purchased this electric fence collar years ago. It works off of satellites. We spent way to many hours running line and fixing the loop of other dog fences. This is easy to set up and has actually kept our dog in the yard. My husband did state it needs to be charged every night which was more then our other collars but I assume because it’s constantly connecting to satellites it is using more power and would last longer if we powered off more during the day. Everytjme it is powered on it will reset connection though from where “home” is. We have 5 acres and are closer to 1 side of the property so they are being somewhat limited on 1 side but again, it’s kept my lab in the yard so thats what matters.

This is for a friend’s dog. She was wary about trying an GPS dog fence since she has bought other products with that didn’t work for her. She received it two days ago and is very happy! She said it is effective, very convenient and she doesn’t have to be afraid of the dog running out. It saves a lot of time. It is also useful for training. It took about two or three days of my friend using this GPS dog fence to train her dog. Everything is convenient, as long it is properly charged and setup. We are very satisfied!

This works so incredibly well. I highly recommend this product. We had trouble with our dog wandering and know several people with underground fences that broke and wouldn’t work well. This is absolutely awesome. Totally worth the money. Lifesavor! No more worries.

We have been using this for two weeks. We live in the country and this is keeping our dog off the road. He can still have a huge area to play. No digging in a wire perimeter! The only inconvenient thing is having to go reset your perimeter if it ever turns off. I’ve been charging it while it’s still on so this does not happen, but if the battery dies completely you have to go back to centre and reset. But this is an amazing product so far. Our dog had been used to a shock collar that we controlled with a remote so he caught on to this extremely fast! Really very happy with this product. It’s worth the $150 Canadian we paid for it.

I’ve been using the new GPS dog collar for a month now. I did originally have the wifi based collar system (with base and collar) and it worked Ok for me but the signal wasn’t “consistent”. The GPS version does NOT have the same problem with the inconsistent signal since it works off GPS satellites which can penetrate more objects and doesn’t have any problems with hills, fences, cars, workshops, doghouses, campers, tables, etc. only ROOFS block the signal.

My only complaint is that it does take a couple minutes to find the satellites. You’ll need to stand in the exact spot where you want to the center of your boundary radius to be then turn on the collar (no base unit; just the collar). For me I, I just stand a few feet from my backdoor since I have a side fence. Again it will take no more than 2 minutes to find the GPS satellites but once it does, it’ll stay locked on. Once it finds the GPS satellites, then it has a GPS warm startup if it loses any signal.

From my multiple test, I found the distance to be very accurate outdoors down to less than 12 inches. The collar does beep and vibrate a lot before any shock is administered. You can adjust the sound, vibration and shock intensity. Lots of control over the shock, sound, and vibrations.

This is a GPS based system so you won’t have issues with signal being blocked as long as your dog is outdoors. If they dog comes inside and there is no GPS signal, NOTHING will happen. The unit does NOT beep or shock. This is a good thing since dogs can hide under objects or in their dog houses. There is no base station; just the collar unit, so no concerns about line of sight block the signal like wifi versions out there. Now, I personally had no problems with Trees or storm clouds blocking the GPS signal just roofs.

Another test I tried. I set the center of my boundary in my backyard. I walked into my house at which point the collar lost the GPS signals as expected. Again no beeps or shocks. I continued to walk out my front door at which point the collar quickly found the GPS satellites again (GPS warm startup). I continued to walk toward the road and the collar recognized I was too far from where I set the boundary center and it started to beep and vibrate like normal until I walked back to the house. So if the collar loses the GPS signal for whatever reason, it still knows where the boundary is located once it finds the GPS satellites again. It doesn’t forget the boundary radius unless you turn the unit off.

For me the battery lasted a full 12+ hours. The unit will hibernate when the dog is still long enough but it will reactive after they start to move. In my experience it found the satellites again in <10 seconds once it knows where they are located….AKA "GPS warm start" (look it up).

My final comment is that if your phone can get a GPS (turn off the cell tower signal) then this unit will work fine. If you are in a basement or cave then this won’t work.

I bought 2 of these collars for my 2 dogs because they were roaming too far on my acreage. One of the collars works great, even in the cold, but the other collar has some issues, so I deducted a star. However, I have contacted the company and they are sending me a replacement.

After watching the video to set up, it was pretty straight forward. Training wasn’t too difficult at all. I like how my settings are saved even after shutting off. I used Google Earth to measure from my center point to determine which distance setting to use. I found I can set the automatic positioning from inside my house so I don’t have to stand still in cold for the 1-3 min it calls for.

Works very well, and is relatively easy to set-up (once you get over the ‘chinenglish’ of the manual. The videos on amazon’s product page certainly help.
    Three small items:
    (1) The charge indicator is on 2 (out of 3) stripes for a day, then the device shuts down within hours
=> We now charge it every night, no problem
    (2) Device shuts down when put on charge
=> Needs to be restarted after charging at same location every day as ‘fence’ is relative to where the device was started. Unfortunately the start-up takes longer than the pipi-grace-time of our pup 😉
    (3) Screws in the back show rust after just a month of use in wet/showy weather.

Overall still works very well – would by it again

In the pictures, the first one indicates the newer model WITHOUT the lock and signal icon. The last picture indicates the older version with those icons but in my experience it tends to be a more finicky device.

Update: the seller told me that the item I received is a newer model. Their unit will hold the distance but every time the device is turned off and on again you have to reprogram the centre point. This is a little misleading in the description and a bit of a nuisance however there is nothing else like it on the market for that price. I have ordered a second one. It has been 3 days past the garunteed deliver date and it still hasn’t arrived. One more day and I will be contacting Amazon.

Updated review: arrived 6 days past the original guaranteed delivery date. originally this product did not come as advertised. I later learned I had received a newer model that didn’t include the lock symbol and signal symbol. I was having issues with the programming and thought there was an issue with the product itself because it wasn’t what was advertised.customer service for the product is only through email. It wasn’t a prompt reply that every time you turn the device off, you will have to reprogram the centre point. This is misleading because in the description it says to only program once with the newer model. I had returned this in frustration, especially because I received a unit that wasn’t as advertised, not realizing it was the better of the two. This is the only product on the market of its kind for the price. It is very annoying to have to reprogram it after every time it is shut off as we live on a 6 acres that we ar programming this to.I don’t know what all the other people who say they don’t are getting at. I reordered this device and got the older model which is what is advertised. The customer service warned they made the updates they did to create a better working device. I now regret returning the newer model as the older one is very finicky, tends to be set off a lot sooner within the radius of the programmed distance, and doesn’t seem to effect my dog at all (she’s a husky with a thick coat). When we had the newer model, she felt the shock no problem and respected the ‘perimeter’. Now she’s confused because the item beeps and doesn’t effect her. We will be attempting it one more time tomorrow to see if we can get it to work more consistently. But honestly, this is frustrating and we will likely just be returning it and then deciding if we should order the newer model again or find a different product all together.

The customer service has been really helpful. They care about their product. I don’t recommend the older model if you receive it. The newer one would be the more reliable option

We live on a very busy highway at a T intersection. Dog picked up on first round of training . He went up the first driveway collar beeped then he got a zap and came quick back in the yard . He only now has gotten as far as the beep and stops . However these dogs are bull headed so I’m. It sure if a deer or moose went through he may bolt lol . Like it says in previous reviews the satellites do move so recheck your boundaries often .

I really like how easy it is to set up this collar. My puppy was able to learn the boundaries quickly and it gives me peace of mind when I am out playing ball off leash. I think there is a manual somewhere but I didn’t find it yet. The you tube videos I found were very helpful. My previous dog had a wireless system too but it wasn’t as good because any little thing(tree or shed) broke the signal. This collar works on satellites and so there isn’t interference.

Customer service was 100%. 10 out of 10. Told them about a collar acting up and within hours they are sending a new one. If you’re hesitating, I’m telling you, do it. Works great, super easy and the customer service is spot on.
Only con: wish the battery life lasted longer, having to charge about once every 24 hours for 3 hours.
