I have to say this company has been excellent to deal with. They’re extremely helpful with any questions which gave me all the confidence I needed to install the product myself. The install overall wasn’t tricky, just a bit of time. The key is to be organized which always makes a job go smoother.
This system has helped me cut my hydro bill in half merely by identifying areas for improvement. I also have utilized their smart plugs to automatically turn off my electric heaters during peak hydro times which really helps to cut my bill down. The Google Home integration works perfectly. I especially like the preset features which integrate with the smart plugs (Good night, Good morning, Leaving home etc.)
The company is also rolling out new features which I think is amazing. Very happy with my decision. Keep up the good work!

Very easy to install but if you not comfortable around your electrical panel I suggest you hire an electrician.
Had the system up and running in less than an hour. Makes you much more conscious about the hydro used for each circuit that your trending. App is very easy to set up and use. Seven different Units of measure allows you to see dollar, watts, amps, gap of gas,car miles, carbon or trees used to run you device. You can set up alerts if a circuit runs too long to your parameters . You can also export the raw data to a CSV file on your computer. Live chat helps with set up and or any issues.

I like this product, it is great. Been waiting for this to be sold in UK for 2 years now. So happy i have it now and installed it myself with there Emporia customer service help. They were so helpful.
You get what you pay for unlike other energy monitoring products which are expensive and have to pay subscription fee to view in there cloud.
This product is a Win Win

All in all this monitor does a good job and the app is really easy to use…
The instructions suggested wiring it into the main consumer unit but my electrician simply wired a 13amp plug on to the wires and we plugged it in! (his advice not mine, it works!)
What is COMPLETELY MISSING from the information on Amazon (hence the 1-star review) is that Emporia Energy DO NOT SELL the sensors separately in the UK on Amazon, to buy them you have to go through their US store and pay $75+ for shipping alone!!!
This is not mentioned in fact the ‘monitor only option’ suggests ‘Add up to sixteen (16) 50A sensors…’ which is the approach I decided to take, monitor first and then add sensors…very expensive mistake!!!

You can only get your electricity usage by connecting to emporia’s cloud service.
Why is this a problem? If the cloud service goes pop you cannot use[your] device, [you] paid for. Also you are at the behest of what service emporia wish to provide. EG this device can provide readings every second but emporia have recently asked that this be stopped as it puts notable strain on their cloud service. One second monitoring is very useful at times and you paid for a device that can do it. If you had local access to the data from the device you bought it wouldn’t strain any cloud service, would it?
Also how long will the cloud service be there for? Ask yourself, this you pay say £69.99 one time and then emporia are going to keep cloud infra structure running forever? No, No they are not, so sometime this service will shut down and your device will be useless. Emporia will deny this, as every other company’s cloud service denied it, right up until… the service shuttered. Leaving you with a device you paid for and likely paid to install, which is useless.
If you search about the interwebs you will find that emporia were asked to make a simple change to allow local access to data from the device for people who wanted it to avoid these issues. The were asked a long time ago. They haven’t done it. It isn’t that tricky to do. really it isn’t.
Just keep in mind like if you ever relied on a google, or any other online, service that was pulled like a rug from beneath your feet, you might want to think again.here.
Such a darn shame because the product itself is pretty good and well priced. Am I being at all suspicious that the data it collects is valuable to the company hence online only, or have I been wearing my tinfoil hat too long?

I have a plethora of energy meters over the last 20+ years, this is the only one to better my aged and non smart Wattson/Holmes meter. I have Solar panels and an Air sourced heat pump the wattson was the only meter I have come across that could moniter and display net useage. The Emporia coame with 10 10mm sensors and one mains sensor. Very easy to setup but the instructions initially look confusing as they are for the “foreign/American” not the UK supplies. The transmitter has four wires I used a 3 pin plug and connected the Black to live the other three to neutral. Also found the sensors to be a very tight fit so had to grind off the plastic near to the magnets and on some more modern 10mm wiring had to remove the outer grey insulation exposing the inner blue insulation to get the sensor to fit. The software/interface is fanatstic clearly displaying all sensor readings as well showing overall consumptiom/export. The only reading that isnt accurate is the one on my air sources heat pump it is consistently out by more tahn 50% all others seem spot on.

I have 2 of these, and really I will need a 3rd to get everything covered. I now know what is happening on every ring main, lighting circuit, appliance circuit, my office, and my sheds. The app is very easy to use, although you are stuck with $$s rather than ££s for the currency at the moment (but set it up as pence rather than cents and you get the right value – just the wrong unit for the UK). I found it all very intuitive to put together after looking through the online/app installation guides. While I have only given 3 stars for ease of installation, that is not to say the product is problematic, but UK electrical consumer units are ultimately too small to make installation simple. The clamps and wires will fit in a UK consumer unit at a push and with a lot of fiddling, but there is no hope of getting the main Emporia box in the unit too.
Ultimately I did my research before purchasing the first unit, so I knew it would be a challenge to fit, and I was happy with that. The second unit was fitted quicker and easier as the electrical consumer unit was slightly larger. I’m more than happy with the Emporia Vue 2, otherwise there would have been no chance of me buying the second one.
This is a must have if you have a lot of electrical circuits and want to know what is being used where, but due to the size of UK electrical consumer units, I’d only recommend it if you are perfectly happy tinkering around inside the breaker box, or would consider installation by a qualified electrician. Do not get this confused with smart meters or cheaper energy meters, as it is vastly superior in its capacity to provide information. I hope that Emporia continue to develop their app platform, and maybe make some UK aimed products/smart plugs.

Nice product and easy to install for anyone comfortable with electrical wiring. The branch circuits can be done safely with the main breaker off but extreme caution should be exercised when attaching the sensors to the live main feeds. I have 2 systems with 32 sensors installed, 16 on the main panel & 16 on the Generator sub panel. The data provided is very useful for monitoring where your power is being used. My main “concern” with this product is that it is cloud based so users are dependent on servers that could some day cease to exist or require a monthly fee. An optional local server app would resolve these concerns.

As the clamp didn’t fit around my mains, I contacted Emporia support directly to ask for options. I asked if I could put their flexible sensors on the bus bar coming after the main breaker. They seemed confused and gave me generic answers, eventually just saying yes… I went to order the flexible sensors and they want $79 plus $94 shipping USD. I asked for options and they said tough luck. Forget this company, they won’t last.
This thing is garbage to me now. Be sure you know what you’re getting before you order and know their support is terrible.

No issues at all during the install. The online instruction guide was easy to follow. Be aware you are working with dangerous power when installing the clamps on the main. Make sure you are comfortable in what your are doing or asking someone with experience for help.
I had no issues connecting to my wifi despite the other review to the contrary. My wifi is run off of UniFI AP’s with WPA2-PSK security. Maybe his router or access point is causing the problem, but I know mine is connecting to secured wifi just fine!
I only bought 8 clamps which is likely going to be enough. I have opened the panel up a couple of times since I installed last week and moved a few around. I will likely move one more as I have 2 clamps on my hot tub, one on each leg.
The app is a little quirky and not super rich on features. That said it displays the info well and allows you to show real-time usage or by the minute, hour, day or month. All in a range of units, $, Watts, Amps and some other odd ball ones.
The app as mentioned is a little quirky. Things like the back button are inconstant through-out the user interface. If you’re looking at data and hit the back button it exits the app. If you are in making changes to the probes it goes back a menu. Its a little thing but it sure is frustrating. Also it would be nice to be able to combine two probes into 1. I have 2 probes on my dryer and 2 probes on the hot tub. They show as independent usage but it would be nice to merge them. Also things like customizing icons for each probe beyond the 5 or 6 they have. I am sure there is more..
All said though. It works. The install was quite easy. The pairing process is one of the better ones I have seen of all the Wifi gizmo’s I have bought. I would give 4.5 stars but thats not an option and 4 seems to low… So 5 it is for now. I will continue to update as I play with it.
