Defective on first use. It got so hot, I had to use gloves to open it. It also does not power on the radio. I have tried two different brands of batteries with the same result. I had no need to use it until a little over a month after I received it which is when I found out it doesn’t work. Nothing looks broken or missing. When I contacted GPS City for a return, they told me that it is past their 30 days and I need to contact garmin. I was unable to contact garmin at the time August 2018 due to maintenance on their phone system. I gave up and forgot about it since. Now that it is fire season again, I need this product to keep my gps running while i’m on fires but I’m to scared to buy again in fear of being screwed over another $25.
GPS City sucks, DON’T BUY FROM THEM!

Hey battery came new in a box. I’ll charge it up to 100 percent. Turn it off and by the next morni g it is down to 68 percent. Every time. I’ve tried charging up to full and draining battery to 0 a few time to see if that works. Hasn’t helped. Wondering g if I can send this one back and get a new one to try. Thanks email me back. ssomersall@hotmail.com

Works great as a second option in a bind but you will not be able to run your GPS in 5W mode it will automatically kick the sittings down to 2W and you’ll lost range pay a bit more and get the lithium battery.

I purchased this for my new Rino, but have not had a chance to use it. I have used a similar battery pack on my older Rino and purchased this based on my experience with the other one. There have been times where my GPS has not gotten charged before an outing and I’ve had to rely on the battery pack. I carry this as an emergency backup to the rechargeable batter, just remember that you’ll need 4 AA batteries too.
After spending an unplanned night in the woods I’ve come to believe in redundancy, especially when it comes to my GPS and flashlights.

I can see why it’s discontinued. I used this battery pack for my hunt. When I needed the radio the batteries were dead. The pack was new and the batteries were out in a few days prior. When I opened up the battery pack, the battery tabs had broken off and the batteries had leaked acid. There is an issue with pack energizing once connected to radio. Only way it works correctly is to only put on pack when radio is needed. When I got home from hunting I was a few weeks passed return date.

The first one sent did not work….I used multiple batteries on multiple units–nothing. I was sent a replacement and the replacment worked fine (same batteries I used for the first one. I returned the first one but was charged for both the original one and the replacement.

All was as advertised as I would expect from an OEM Garmin part. It fit as it should.
