Nifty, multi-use cleaner

I bought this steam cleaner because I was looking for something to help clean carpet, but I didn’t want one more appliance taking up space in the closet. I was drawn to this Neat steamer because of its compact size and myriad uses.

Pros:
– It does a great job of spot-cleaning carpet stains (see before and after attached). Much faster and easier than spray cleaners or soap and water. The heat may be problematic for some kinds of carpet, but if you’re trying to fix a stain, then there’s not much to lose in the first place

– I loved being able to go straight from carpet to laminate flooring with the flooring attachments, so fast and easy!

– The accessories and attachments feel very solid and durable, a heavyweight plastic that seems like it will last a long time

– The tank capacity is voluminous. I read other reviews that complained it was too small, but I spot-cleaned and steamed our dining room and kitchen floors, bathroom toilet and floor, bathroom grout lines (before/after attached) shower floor, 6 large windows (inside and outside), and my kitchen counter — about 2 hours of cleaning — and still had water left over.

– The steam has amazing cleaning power. It dissolves sticky messes so easily and doesn’t leave a residue. It removed dirt and dust I didn’t even know were on my kitchen counter.

Cons:
– The unit handle and hose get very hot with prolonged use. Not hot enough to be painful, but enough to be disconcerting. Just something to be aware of.

– The unit tends to drip a bit here and there, either from steam condensation or the ends of attachments. You definitely want to keep a microfiber towel on hand. The one included is wonderful, but to do more than one or two things at a time, I had to use more.

Other notes on use:
As the manufacturer notes, the steam is very hot. There is not really a trigger lock (just a button that keeps the trigger open), so you may need to exercise extra caution and vigilance when using it, especially if you have little, curious kids at home (like I do!)

Overall the machine is very quiet, except if you use it with the trigger attachment in an enclosed space like a small shower. I would definitely recommend using ear protection in that situation.

I would give this a B+ or A- for carpet cleaning. To be fair, the manufacturer does not advertise this as a carpet cleaner. It gets spots out very well, but mostly “refreshes” the main carpet if you use the floor attachment. The carpet is definitely cleaner and looks better, but doesn’t feel as clean as if you used a shampooing/wet machine. However, I feel like it is adequate for my needs, and is much easier to use than a shampooing machine.

The price point for this machine is highly competitive. It is more affordable than similar machines, and feels like a good deal, given its apparent high quality and cleaning power. That being said, I feel like there is a missed opportunity for built-in storage for the hose and accessories. However, you can easily fix that with a simple storage bin. Overall, it’s a great product, and I’m happy to pay a lower cost on a minimalistic machine and add towels or storage options as I need them.

This steam cleaner is neat!

The box has instructions printed on it which are really helpful. But this steam cleaner is intuitive to use. Simply plug it in, push the button, wait for the light to turn green and start cleaning. The thing that I was most curious about are the accessories. I thought they’d be cheaper than what you get with their higher end Tosca which we bought about 2 years ago. I was wrong. They’re slightly smaller but they are just as sturdy. Even the clothes and bonnets that come with it are as good of quality as the Tosca. That’s impressive. I’ve seen cheaper handheld or other steam cleaners and they usually have far inferior accessories that just don’t hold up to intense cleaning. The fabric will fall apart after a few uses.

This is one of those rare products that’s worth a lot more than the retail price. When you compare to the others in the market that have cheaper accessories, cheaper fabric on their covers and less durable plastic it is FAR SUPERIOR. I don’t know if I could recommend a product more than this one. I love it! I feel like with the Neat I can go to full steam and hopefully ditch Clorox Wipes and sprays forever or cut way back.

I found myself sometimes avoiding getting the Dupray Tosca out because it’s quite heavy and takes a while to heat up. So I only used it for heavy duty cleaning or when I have a bigger project. It’s not something I wanted to bring out for smaller jobs, like to touch up my car. The Neat is great for that. It doesn’t heat up as high so I will save the deeper cleaning like the sink (lots of built up grease you can’t see) and the oven for the Tosca. But this is a great companion unit for jobs without grease and touch up work.

The handle retracts and so it’s not sticking up and it’s easy to grasp. Super simple design to turn it off and on – you just push in the button and wait for it to turn green to start cleaning. I also LOVE that you can push a button for continual release and so you don’t have to grip the handle the whole time you clean and can use both hands. I wish so bad the Tosca had that.

Dupray is the Apple of steam cleaners. Love that they’ve made a machine that is simple and elegant – not just a copy cat that looks like the others. We were willing to pay more for the design and lifetime warranty with the Tosca but not everyone can or wants to. We want both but honestly you can spend far less and get a great machine with the Neat. It doesn’t heat as hot and the tank is smaller, but I would recommend to anyone who wants to use steam instead of chemicals to clean and for a superior cleaning tool with no residue.

If I could change anything it would be a way to see how much water is inside when filling the reservoir. I like that they made it indented so again, nothing is sticking out of the machine and it’s fast to refill.

Other nice touches include that it has wheels and the cord wraps underneath for easy storage. So it stays super compact.

It’s lightweight at 9 lbs and it’s a lot easier to carry than the Tosca – even with water in it. No one is allowed to borrow our Tosca but I could easily transport the Neat and demo it (my neighbors are all curious about it). I might even let someone like my mom borrow it. The Tosca is like a member of our family and the Neat is like the Tosca’s little brother or sister.

I bought this Dupray cleaner on recommendation of my brother, who said that’s what he used to clean the grout and for regular floor cleaning…..and his house is always super clean. I needed something to clean the grout between the tiles. Once I started, I had to stop and make a quick video which I posted on Facebook, for my friends to see. I was so amazed and just shocked how easy it was to use and how fast the white grout was appearing from underneath all that black dirt. During cleaning I found out there were shiny specks in the grout lol. I also used it to wash the floors, they felt so clean. I like to walk around the house with bare feet and the floor felt really clean and just nice. Also when looking at the floor against the light, there was no weird smears left behind, just shiny, clean tiles! Until now I’ve been using the shark pro steamer, but it doesn’t even compare…..
I used this cleaner on my bbq cooking grids, using the metal bristle brush attachment. Well the brush is filthy ( I think I’ll need a new one), but the cooking grids were like new, all shiny and silver! And the best thing is I don’t have to use any harsh chemicals! Coming back to cleaning the floors…I don’t have any crawling babies, my boy is 9 now, but I do have a dog and 2 cats and they lick their paws, so the last thing I want to do is put chemicals on my floors.
So next I want to test it on the shower cabin and windows outside….I’m sure I’ll be amazed with that as well.

I have not used a steam cleaner before and I have to say I was impressed. Its neat ( in the name) compact, long hose to reach without dragging the unit, heats up quickly. We have fabric on the inside birth on our boat and while stored for the winter it got mold spots on it – difficult to clean so I thought I would try steam and it worked! Looking forward to trying it out on the window sills and anywhere else I can make cleaning easier. I also bought this product instead of the other one I was considering because it was a Canadian Co.

Sirve súper bien para limpiar las juntas en los pisos, también para cualquier piso de azulejo. Eso de limpiar sarro pues si lo hace pero después de un rato, mejor comprar un antiasarro, aplicar y luego lavar con Dupray. Para lavar baños también está súper bien. Para estufa no lo he ocupado pero supongo que debe hacer muy buen trabajo. Una maravilla esta cosa 💖

Got excited to receive my steam cleaner and tried it right away on my kitchen grout, oven and bathroom title. I steamed away on the same spot for 10 mins (with the brush) and absolutely no difference. I read so many reviews and looked at videos of people using it with a totally different outcome. I am puzzled and very disappointed. I have way better results with a grout brush and Hertel cleaner scrubbing away like a mad woman. That’s what I was trying to avoid with this steam cleaner (and save time and energy). I guess I need one of those $1000 machine to see the dirt steam away.

This steamer is awesome.

It cleaned my oven in minutes although I tried cleaning and scrubbing it before but nothing was going away, but with Dupray it was so satisfying to see it get so clean.

I cleaned the windows: did an amazing job, it cleans the window easily.

I cleaner the floors: cleans amazingly however you have to vacuum first with the regular vacuum and then use Dupray.

It does NOT clean carpets you need a carpet cleaner machine for that.

I cleaned the bathroom tub and it washed away the soap scum easily.

I tried it on the mattress, to be honest I didn’t see any difference.

100% reccomend unless you want it to clean the carpet in that case don’t get it but for any regular cleaning around the house it does the job.
