I didn’t think a tripod could be this wobbly and poorly build with the name DeWalt on it, but here we are.
Junk completely. I am a DeWalt fan but this is lower quality than the discount bin at Princess Auto.
Avoid this and buy a pool cue to balance on end, it will be more sturdy.

Not very smooth to use

The product was in keeping with the very good quality expected from Dewalt. Amazon delivered this very quickly. Happy with the purchase.

This tripod is very cheap quality – nowhere close to the quality that I’ve come to expect from DeWalt tools. The head of the tripod does not lock into place so my laser will not stay upright and keeps falling over. Additionally, the locks on the legs feel very flimsy. I am disappointed with this tripod to say the least. Spend a bit more and buy something else!

The tripod looks used. Packaging was retaped and the case as well as the tripod had minor scuff marks on it. It’s obviously a pre-owned product. Thankfully everything so far works on it

I should of known with the price that it wouldn’t be great, but figured since dewalt is decent it would be ok. Boy was I wrong. It’s the most flimsy piece of junk I have ever bought lol! Do yourself a favour a keep looking. I still buy all dewalt but this was a let down. The crank handle broke after 10 mins of use and the weight of the dewalt laser makes the tripod drop down so it can’t stay at a specific height.

Very unhappy with this tripod. The quality is low and the way it is constructed, with a laser mounted and all adjusting screws snugged… the laser can still bobble around by 1/8” or more as a result of the poor manner in which it is designed and constructed. The whole purpose of purchasing this was to have an adjustable and steady mount for my laser and it doesn’t serve that purpose. At $100 price point and a ‘Dewalt’ branding, I expected much better

Just bought a Dewalt laser level and it fits perfectly as designed on this tripod. Adjustment is easy with lots of options and alignment bubbles. Bonus is that the tripod comes in a nice dewalt branded storage bag. Edit update; after using this tripod lightly for some renovations one retractable leg has failed and I have it taped in place. Still works but lack of quality is very apparent. This is very light residential home owner grade, don’t buy this expecting any regular dewalt quality tool.

the 1/4 IN – 20 Screw to hold the Laser is too short (even if the Laser is a Dewalt too, DW089K!)

I have used this Dewalt Tripod twice. I own a Audio Video Integration company so it will get a fair amount of use; leveling loudpeakers, projection screens, TVs, etc.
I have decided to return it back to Amazon. In a nutshell, the components are all very weak plastic and aluminium. The clamps that adjust and secures the legs are very, very cheaply made of light weight plastic. One of the two of the six adjusting clamps barely snug tight enough to keep the leg in position. These would certainly fail while supporting a heavy device like a camera and lens. I use it with a light weight Johnson Self Leveling Laser level. The hand crank to adjust the vertical movement is also cheaply produced plastic. I would say if the tripod was to topple over and hit concrete or hardwood flooring it would snap off. I am truly shocked that DeWalt would put their name on such a lightweight, poorly built tool accessory. I had a nice camera tripod with all metal parts that I bought on Amazon. I have lost it, so I hoped this would be DeWalt tough to use on my worksites. I don’t do heavy construction, if I did I am sure that day one it would have broken and failed. So before I do break it by knocking it over or getting jostled around in my carpeted work van I am returning it for a much better one. Now if you are going to use it a few times over a few years around the house and have a safe place to store it and are attaching a very light device to it (cell phone or small laser level it would do you just fine. I would expect to see this quality from a Dollar General Store for $19.99 honestly.

I’m not at all impressed with this tripod stand. The elevating head with the laser attached when raised with the crank handle will lower the laser on it’s own. It doesn’t support the weight of the laser that well. The pivoting head has movement where it attaches to the aluminum vertical post. And the clamps that hold the extendable leg sections are made of plastic which I think should be made of a stronger material. I feel I wasted my money. If I hadn’t thrown the box in the garbage I”d be sending this thing back for a refund. I should of bought the Dewalt Heavy Duty Tripod DW0737.
