Ordered these shoes and received two completely different shoes!! Awful!!!! Not just different sizes but two completely different shoes – neither matched the photo! I had ordered these in a larger size that were too large so returned and exchanged for half a size smaller. Assuming these were the same shoes I had just exchanged, I did not open the new box until hours before my son needed to get dressed for the wedding and was horrified to learn that they did not even match. My mistake to not open sooner and double check but what kind of quality control is this?!!!

These shoes look very nice for the price, and they’ll work for how they’ll be used. My son will be wearing these for his choir performances for school. They run about 1/2 to 1 size large. My son normally wears a 6-1/2 to 7 big boy size, but he fit perfectly in a 6 big boys size with these shoes. They do fit wide on my son’s narrow foot, but with thick socks, they fit fine. I assume most people won’t have this problem. The shoes look very mature and not kid-like, according to my son who’s 10. There is a tiny defect where it looks like a chunk of rubber on the side of the sole is shaved down or picked off, but it’s barely noticeable, so we will deal with it. (See pic). Overall, we’re happy with theses shoes. My son likes them, and he’s picky. They look nice; feel good on my son’s feet, with plenty of toe room; and the price was right. 4 stars.

After having to order 3 pairs, we finally have a good fit. First I ordered his regular size, and they were huge. Next I ordered one size down…still too big. Ended up with 2 sizes smaller than usual and they fit well. They’re not the greatest quality, but chances are he’ll only need to wear them a handful of times.

They definitely look snazzy. I bought them for my 10 year old for his chorus concert, and with the plan that he would wear them twice this year, I opted to by a size up from his true size in case he grows. They were big, but seemed to run true to size. My only concern is that after wearing them once, for a span of about three hours, the top is scuffed, with some of the black actually damaged to where you can see the color beneath the outer shell. Part of that is because a 10 year old is active and was probably screwing around, but they weren’t sturdy in that sense. I will probably just fix it with black show polish, or even a black sharpie might do the trick.

These Deer Stags Blazing oxfords are very reasonably priced and very good quality. We bought them for our middle school-er for a band concert but they are versatile enough that he will be able to wear them for any dressy or semi-dressy occasion until he outgrows them (which will probably be in two weeks with the way he grows). He has already used them with a suit for a Sweet 16 party for our niece. The shoes look sharp, have a timeless, non-trendy style and were comfortable to wear according to our 11 year old. We actually bought these in a larger size to replace a similar pair of Deer Stag oxfords he had outgrown…our younger boy will inherit the older smaller sized ones which held up well for the five or six times he has thus far worn them.
