This is my first burr grinder. I read in some of the other reviews this machine has issues with static electricity. I didn’t think it was going to be that big of a deal and the previous reviewers were over exaggerating – boy, was I in for a shock (not literally;)! Basically, the first time I used it, coffee grinds were stuck all over the sides and lid of the coffee output hole bucket thing. I thought maybe it was just because it was its very first use so I emptied it out and tried again – same thing. I read and watched some tricks on how to prevent this (put a few drops of water in with the coffee before you grind it) and that has reduced the static problem to a somewhat tolerable level (though doesn’t eliminate it entirely). But still, this is a lot more convenient and less messy than emptying out my old blade grinder.
Another thing of note: the coffee doesn’t grind that fine. I had it set between the finest setting and medium and to me it made what I would call “coarse” (think pre-grinded coffee can style). I was curious what the actual coarse setting would output but I haven’t tried it because I didn’t want to waste my precious beans.
I recommend getting a machine with a glass coffee hole bucket thing if the static issue is going to grind your gears – it’s probably worth the extra amount of dollars.
Other than that, it will do. 🎅🏻

This is the second grinder of this exact model we have had. The first one was superb and simply wore out from many years of use. We replaced it with the same exact model. Unfortunately, the setting for the number of cups is inaccurate in the sense it is not grinding enough coffee based upon the setting. For example to make 12 cups of ground coffee on the 12 setting you have to have almost two rounds of grinding.
Otherwise, the grinder seems to work.

Love it! I’m new to this home coffee game, but the quarantine has taught me to stop wasting $$$, so here I am…now loving this device! Loud but quick, easy to clean with multiple sizing options. Obvious difference with fresh grinds vs pre ground.
Will update with issues

Oh should have just bought this right at the first! I first bought the hand grinder and what a waste of time that was.
The hand grinder took about 30-40 minutes to get a few cups while the cuisinart DBM ONLY TOOK 30 seconds.
If you wanna waste time get the hand grinder if you want to enjoy a quick flavour-able coffee get the cuisinart

I’ve only had it a month and ground 2 lbs of coffee, but it seems fine so far. The machine offers a very wide selection of grinds, and the coffee comes out uniformly. Quibbles? It is noticeably louder than the Bodum it replaces, and for some reason, messier. (It is hard to empty the receptacle into the coffee tin without spilling some coffee. This is due to the mouth being too wide.) But all in all, I’m satisfied.

I buy my coffee beans at Costco, but during Covid, they have taken out their large grinding machines. I have always used a small Melitta grinder for a finer grind for my espresso machine, even after grinding at Costco. I was hoping to eliminate this step since this grinder has a “fine” grind; however, it’s still not fine enough for my espresso machine. I was disappointed, but I still appreciate the large capacity of the Cuisinart grinder, its ease of use and cleaning. My husband will also be using it to grind his beans for his drip coffee maker, so it will be getting a lot of use. I’m counting on the well-established quality of Cuisinart products to keep this grinder working for many years to come!

The coffee grinder worked great, until it didn’t! After only 3 times! I contacted Amazon, but they said it was too late to get a refund because it was over 30 days (I had it for about 4 months). I contacted the actual seller, and they were wonderful! I explained that this must have been a lemon because of so many very positive reviews, so could I exchange it for another one. The representative said it was out of stock, so they gave me a total refund!–$96.46. Very reputable company!

A few month’s on and the grinds container always throw grinds all over my coffee maker when I try to fill the filter. Amount ground goes from too little to to much and never stops on just right. Peice of garbage.I bought this to replace my wonky Breville grinder that cost almost five times as much. Since that grinder was never called on for coarse ground or fine espresso grind( which it didn’t actually do despite manufacturer claims) I decided that I didn’t need to pay for a machine that will do these things. My mistake.
This unit is garbage. After three months of putting up with inconsistant grinds, static on the grinds container, questionable tasting coffee and seemingly random amounts of ground coffee ground (if you look at the quantity slider it moves) I caved when I saw the new Breville on sale for $60 off!

After only 3 uses, it is starting to jam. I use freshly roasted light beans. Though I used my Oster burr grinder and it never jammed, only thing is the top part of the Oster breaks off easily, so I bought this to replace it, but it jams. This is worse and more expensive, don’t buy into the rating. Will have to return.

I like my espresso grinder. It’s an all around great purchase. Easy to use, easy to clean and not bad looking on the counter.
The only issue is that I drink espresso and I hate buying pre-grinded coffee (less fresh). So I purchased this one in the hopes that it would grind small enough for me to enjoy my cup of joe in the am. After using it since October, I find that the espresso grind is not thin enough, therefore produces a lack of flavor in the coffee itself. I recommend for other coffee types!

So, I have a coffee snob in my house. We have a french press and an electric water boiler, my coffee snob drinks it black with a pinch of salt 3 times a day, and having to drink preground coffee was driving them nuts. So I did some research and came to this one.
Pros: A flat burr grinder, a decent reservoir for both grounds and beans, easy to fill and remove the coffee. Extremely consistent grind, very little dust. We use a french press, so we use a mid-coarse grind, so I don’t know how this would work in an espresso machine so keep that in mind.
Cons: This thing is louder than Satan farting after eating 200 sugar-free gummy bears. It’s a blender on steroids. Wear ear protection or get the hell out. However, it’s blessedly quick. We have a little bit of trouble with static electricity inside the grounds reservoir but that might just be our house being really dry or something.
Either way, my coffee snob is happy.

This is my second unit. The motor died on the first one after five years or so. After looking around I decided to purchase another one thinking the first failure was a fluke. The motor completely died in the new grinder after only 4 months. I am the only coffee drinker in the house so it’s not from over use. This new unit was notably noisier than the first one as well. You should probably be using protective ear coverings if you are grinding any volume of coffee. It’s the last Cuisinart I’ll ever buy. Given Amazon only allows returns for the first 30 days, my next coffee grinder won’t be purchased from Amazon either.
