I had been looking for the impossible apparently, a fast affordable toaster, for several years. I tried a bunch, even some over 100$.
This one, on special around 70$CAN, looks great and toasts very fast. Remains to be seen how durable it will be but it does carry a 3 year warranty.
Bought a second one a few weeks for someone else, I liked it so much.

I would have given this toaster a perfect rating, starting with its fast delivery. It’s just that it simply does not toast equally. I mean, there’s a significant diffence on each side of the toasts, and this for both units (Left and Right sides). I am not too certain I will be keepting it as long as my previous one (>25yrs).

A disappointing successor to an otherwise historically successful product line. Our previous Cuisinart toaster was very well made, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. Regrettably, those standards have not been met as far as this product is concerned. The controls are flimsy and the casing is rather thin, unlike our previous model which was sturdy and durable, with firm controls. In fact, I am in the process of attempting to repair the spring in the lever of our previous model in order to continue using it and if such is the case, this new toaster will likely be either donated or recycled.

This is a toaster and it toasts my bread. That is all. It’s not more special than any other toaster. This is a bit overpriced for what it does, if I could go back, I would have bought something a lot cheaper. But the wife is happy, so there’s that.

We have been using this toaster for 1 year and 4 months now. My pictures were taken today (October 2020) and as you can see, it still looks brand new. We are a family of 6 so this little gem has been through a lot while being used multiple times a day by each family members. It remains one of my favorite toasters that I have ever owned. It consistently toasts each side of toast evenly and has the great option of reheating if you forget your bagel or whatnot in the toaster (which happens to me all the time). It’s easy to use, easy to clean with the removable trays at the bottom and it looks great on my kitchen counters. I hope 🤞🏻 this model will still be available if mine breaks because I plan to buy it again and again as I absolutely love it.

BEWARE: Thought I was upgrading my much cheaper Black and Decker 4 slice toaster that I got 3 years out of before one side burned out. Went with this Amazon recommended Cuisinart CPT180. We especially want evenly toasted bread over all other features.
Well – this one seemed OK for 2 months, then last week it stopped evenly toasting – the inside element now runs at about half the heat so one side of the toast is light, and the other is darker. I called the Cuisinart customer service line and after waiting 15 minutes I hung up. Disgusted with Cuisinart, I checked all the toaster reviews, and ordered an Oster 4 slice toaster that got great reviews (better than this Cuisinart) and for $20 less!
I doubt if Cuisinart will ever answer their phone, so this one goes into the spare toaster bin and we will report back on the Oster.
If it outlasts this Cuisinart, I will report back. Meantime, read the reviews on the Oster – at least on paper it is better and cheaper.

I do not know how this toaster has good reviews. It is one of the flimsiest and lowest quality kitchen appliances I have ever used. For almost $100 this is unacceptable. The knobs on the front rattle around and don’t even stay in place when bumper.
Of course, if the toaster actually toasted well, it may be possible to overlook the terrible construction quality. The toaster does not toast evenly – one side of the bread is always much more brown than the other, and even and two of the 4 slots are always much more lightly toasted than the other 2. This unevenness is also clearly visible when looking at the heating elements. There is an obvious difference in the brightness and intensity of the orange glow. One half of one of the slots barely even turns orange at all.
Maybe this particular toaster had defective elements, but based on the build quality I am returning this item and purchasing a different brand instead. This is absolutely not a product designed or built to last a long time. It is built so that it will break after a year or two of use and force you to buy another one.

Terrible toaster. 2 clear problems, both very much critical to the functions of a toaster…
1) We have tried different bread on this toaster for 2 weeks. Unless you are using basic white sliced bread, the toaster does not toast. Bagels barely toast, on level 6 -max- with the frozen and bagel button pressed. Hearty bread does not toast, and needs a second go
2) If you get bread light enough, like white toast, you can get it toasted. Well, just one of them, like shown in the picture. So, either doesn’t toast or toasts uneven.
You would think toasters are one of the simplest appliances, and their job would be just so simple… Think again

I read so many reviews and looked at many toasters before choosing this one. Unfortunately it is terrible. I put it on the maximum toasting settings and it barely even toasts the bread at all. You need to put it on twice on max! Additionally it is big and bulky and had a very weird smell the first several times I used it. It is such a useless toaster.

This is a review for Cuisinart CPT-180 Metal Classic 4-Slice Toaster, Brushed Stainless.
This toaster has been in daily service for three years and has performed well. It’s a moderately priced appliance so I don’t expect perfection, but this unit has come pretty close. The bagel setting heats the entire bagel, not just the exterior like other toasters with bagel settings. The reheat button comes in handy, especially when I space out – which happens a little more often these days 😉 There are lots of toasters that claim to have a retro look but this is unique in it’s old school feel. With periodic maintenance (emptying the crumb trays, using a toothbrush to clean the elements, etc.) this is a great investment.
Note: I’m sorry to hear about some of the problems reported in other reviews. If it were me, I’d send the unit back in a New York second because Cuisinart needs the feedback, and more than that, the reviewers need a toaster they can count on.
