I got this on sale for $20 and the retail price is $40usd.
For $20 I would definitely recommend this sound card! Even for regular price it gets the job done. Installing is super easy and it has “HD Audio header” on the card it self. That lets you move your front panel audio jacks to work with the sound card!
It doesn’t look all special but the quality is definitely present. It comes on the OEM box, I would recommend getting the Amazon packing added (free option at this time).
The quality of the sound I’m getting from my 5.1 Logitech system is fantastic. The software that’s included is also available via download and depending on your set-up you will need it for the 5.1 to work. I needed to install the software for all my speakers to work with it, took a few seconds.
Lastly when you first install it and turn your PC on, it may shit off and turn back on twice before turning on normally, that is normal and shouldn’t happen again. This is just the PC and PSU ensuring power is being distributed correctly.
9.5/10 overall

I purchased this to prevent the annoying hiss from my onboard sound card on my motherboard as well as step up the sound quality. The EMI seems to have be minimized a lot and on the headphone jack it is virtually unnoticeable. The sound quality has increased ever so slightly as well.
However on the consdensor microphone there is a constant hissing noise even if the mic is not plugged in. It may be due to the fact that the gain had to be turned up because the mic was a little on the quiet side.
Nevertheless, I ended up returning the product and purchasing a external audio interface which from my research is what u want for a proper condensor microphone setup. There is no ZERO hiss on both microphone and headphone input. It also cleans up the microphone input a lot and the sound is much better.
In summary, It’s fine if you don’t mind a small hiss which is slightly noticeable in calls. But the hiss is dependant on the mic you have, the gain you set, and the EMI in your case. So it’s worth a shot.

After experiencing frustration with Realtek/Windows 10 software issues on a new Dell system with on board 5.1 audio, I took a chance and opted to buy this basic sound card with the accompanying Creative software. I’m glad I did since my Logitech Z906 5.1 system now works flawlessly. Installation was simple, there are no more software issues, the user interface is good and the sound is superb.
The card was received in a properly packaged, sealed retail box with CD and user manual.

Noisy and no better than the on board audio.

Bought this for my son so he could use the mic on his new gaming headset, his Mac Pro doesn’t have a microphone input so it needed an add-in card. Initial install wasn’t detected in Windows, had to perform a PRAM reset. Drivers installed (and all telemetry disabled) and restarted the system. Went to change volume(s) and got a blank screen saying there was no device installed or nothing plugged in. Plugged in his headphones and heard humming and general white noise. Disabling the mic input helped a bit but was still hearing noise in the headphones. Plugged the headphones back into the front panel jack = no noise. Tried to just have the mic plugged into the card and got noise. Tried all available pcie slots in case it was a noisy slot but no luck getting rid of the noise. Returned for refund, if I wanted static I can get it for free! Disappointed in Creative, I used to use an ISA bus SB16 back in the day and it was better than this.

It was like listening to music again for the first time. As a test, I listened to some songs I was very familiar with and almost all of them noticed a marked improvement in quality, detail, and “punch.” In some ways, it was like listening to these songs for the first time. I am impressed.
Playing with settings with all the options turned off, I would say the sound card itself improved the audio quality 25% over my on board sound card and the rest was the software that makes full use of the sound card.
Originally bought this to remedy the mics issues from my on board sound card, and wasn’t expecting the sound quality to improve this much.
I am going to knock off 2 star for the horrendous “packaging.” Sure, I bought this as a “warehouse repackage,” but man, tape the OPEN BAG CLOSE! And actually package and protect the product and just SLAP A SHIPPING LABEL ON THE PRODUCT BOX AND BE LIKE “GOOD ENOUGH.” At least add a little bubble wrap or paper in the box so the whole THING IS NOT RATTLING AROUND LIKE A CEREAL BOX! TREAT A BARE CIRCUIT BOARD WITH A LITTLE MORE CARE!

Best sound cards by far

Software installation was not without some concerns. Initially I was told that the card was not present. However after retrying a couple of times and restarting the system it did recognize the card. There were also components that did not install irom the CD. I did have to go the website and manually download an update. During the installation/registration process certain “freebies” were promised however the automatic registration led to a “page not found.” I was able to go directly to the registration site and get the card registered however the “freebies” promised in the installation did not appear.
I suspect the disk that shipped with the card was old. Bottom line is the card did finally install, it sounds good and I have been using it for a few weeks without any problems.

This is a true upgrade to the built-in Realtec chip that came with my desktop. I needed to download the latest software from the website to get it to work on Win10 but it makes a very noticeable difference compared to before, both with speakers and headphones. The software allows you to fine-tune it to your listening style. There’s no “normalization” feature as far as I can tell, so one audio source to another might make you jump a bit. It has the connector for the front of the PC box too.

Also was bringt die Karte ?
