The bad news: The top of this little beauty goes on fairly easily once you figure out how to “screw” it on. But when the eggs are cooked and it’s HOT, it is NOT easy to unscrew that lid (it slides and hooks, like a front-open bra). The heat makes it want to “stick” or something. I’ve used it twice and worried that the eggs might overcook because it was taking me so long.
The GOOD news is that both times I made eggs, they came out the way I expected, using the amount of water. The line for “medium” soft cooked was a bit runny on first try, so I added just a little more water than that and they came out perfectly this morning. I’m eager to try the poacher, but I hope this capable company comes up with a better design for closing the lid.

Love this little egg cooker. It poaches two eggs perfectly. You have to experiment with water levels to find the right amount for how you like your eggs. I have to fill the water measure cup completely with cold tap water to get hard poached eggs. Clean up is a breeze. Put a little white vinegar in the stainless steel portion and wipe out with paper towel after every use prevents staining and keeps it looking like new. Wash the plastic parts in warm soapy water.

My friend suggested I get an egg cooker and I laughed, an egg cooker? I’m old school baby, I use a saucepan, but she kept on going on about it so I decided to get one and man, I should have got one years ago, I used to get so many cracked or broken eggs, or over or under cooked eggs, this is so easy to use, for the boiled eggs you just put in the correct amount of water using the measuring cup provided, poke a hole in the eggs and press the start button, an alarm goes off when they are done and they peel much easier than the ones I cook in a saucepan. I had originally given it 5 stars, but after using it 4 times the metal part where you put the water looks like it’s starting to rust, I have to scrub it to get the brown rust stain off each time I use it. Other than that it still works well.

I love soft boiled eggs and this device makes cooking them really easy. That said I only tried the poaching feature once and managed to melt the plastic for that. Oups! But the soft boiling eggs function is great and as that’s what I use it for the most, I’m happy that we have one of these in the house.

I’ve now tried to make soft boiled eggs twice and both times I had to put them back in to cook a little longer because the whites were not cooked and come out as runny as the middle. I’m going to try the medium setting and hopefully by cooking them on that they will come out soft boiled. I think once I figure out the timing it will work great.

My dad hates new gadgets, so I was skeptical of whether he’d use this, but I thought I’d try it as a gift for him. He loves that he doesn’t have to worry about overboiling and overcooking his eggs. He lets it do it’s thing while he shaves and gets ready in the morning.
But of a learning curve for how much water. Use a little more than what’s recommended. And use a fair bit more for extra large eggs.
Also, in my family’s opinion, the complaints here about the loudness of the alarm are grossly overblown. It’s shrill, sure, but it’s no worse than my alarm clock or my oven timer.
Other than that, great product. I hope it lasts!

I bought this product because of a feature of the auto turn-off. Although the function is really working well, you have to push a button again because of noisy sound. I don’t understand why this company makes like this. Except for this, I like this cooker. eggs were really delicious with medium water. it is fast and safe, and easy to clean.
Even though there is a disadvantage, I’m impressed on this egg cooker with brand ‘Chefman’. If I have an opportunity to buy other product, I’m going to consider to buy the same brand.

Super easy to use, cleans well, and saves so much time from the stove top. I’ve tried making all the eggs and all turned out excellent. Make sure to follow the instructions for water, and add a little oil to the tray if you’re making the poached eggs – it’ll help them slide out with ease. I loved how all the eggs kept perfect shape. Great purchase!

4/5 because I’ve only used twice but starting to get the trick of it. I read some other reviews before buying about cooking times not being accurate etc and so went into this anticipating those troubles. And it happened. And it’s not a big deal. See, I’m used to it. I live In Canada at a higher elevation (Alberta) and cooking times just aren’t the same here as for sea level dwellers. Which I think a lot of people don’t know… Cakes, eggs, breads etc cook differently because of it. I simply adjusted to hard boiled settings with the cooker to achieve a medium boiled egg. If I want hard I suppose I should just put even more water in. The simple and quick way this thing cooks eggs is just great and I’m prepared to go through all that work of adding a little extra water to use this thing all the time!
Ps. If you love eggs just buy it.
