Buying the brand name is worth it: I know it will be the correct size ‘cuz it is the same brand as the maker of my humidifier & the company has a reputation to protect! What I expected to get is what I got and it was even better because they had made an improvement, so it is now more durable than previously.

I find these filters to be very fragile . With my water , they have to be washed to remove calcium build up every 2-3 weeks and that is difficult to do and keep the unit in one piece. If you are very careful in handling it may hold together for 3 cleanings so you probably require two or three a season depending on the length of your winter.
That being said , the unit does a good job of keeping the humidity up.

I have been using these for over a year without any issues or smells and this batch right now has a very strong odour.

As of today (2021-10-28) I have had one replaced and the new one that came is just the same.

The odour has permeated throughout the whole unit and it is outside right now trying to air it out.

I highly suggest you do the sniff test before using it.

Not impressed with Honeywell at the moment; going on the cheap.

Nowhere near the output of the original blue filter that came with my humidifier. Mind you, neither does the newer (white) Honeywell brand filter at nearly twice the price. Just doesn’t want to soak up the water.

These are poor quality wicks that double in price in one month. They do not hold up more than 3 weeks

Beware this filter does not have the blue outer layer of model HC-14NC. This filter lasted about 1.5 months (with my humidifier running only about 8 hrs a day) and it developed a significant amount of black slimy stuff on the inside surface (probably mould). The other model HC-14NC lasted a whole heating season last year (almost 3 months) without ever developing black mould inside.

Another reviewed noted that this filter was not as good as the original filter that came with the humidifier. I think this is correct. I used this for one month and the output had drastically decreased. The filter began to smell sour around the month mark as well. I am not sure if this is expected, but it doesn’t seem as high quality as the original filter.

After a couple months the filter disintegrated

It works, but the filter starts to break down extremely fast. This filter lasted about a month which is outrageous.

I can’t beieve how expensive these are. For what? No one should have to pay this price. I’ll be looking for a knock off brand. This is highway robbery…

This product appears to be glued together at the seam after one month in my humidifier I took it out to clean it and it broke at the glue joint . Tried to rejoin it but was unsuccessful so I was going to purchase another unit and found the price had increased $10.50 since my purchase .So I am very unhappy with the performance of the product and now the price gouging for a company as big as Honeywell I expected better products
