It barely took 5-10mins to put together. Requires a little patience to understand how to use it. But once u get the hang of it, it’s just amazing. Highly recommended for someone interested in exploring the night sky. There’s an app called Sky Portal which is very useful to know where to look. On the very first try, we were able to see the moon and it’s craters. With the help of the app, we were able to locate Jupiter and it’s moons. Excited about exploring more. I’ve attached pictures taken through the eyepiece of the telescope.

I bought it for my son. He asked me to show him how to use. I set up telescope according to manual. read manual and then try to see moon Finder is cheap and crazy. can’t see anything. so far I can not see anything properly, I was embarrassed in front of Son. They provide me DVD in today’s technology where DVD’S are out dates long time ago. Please do not buy this product. It’s just crapy product. Save your money by not buying this product.

Vielen Dank.

Could see all the bacteria and aliens on the moon craters. All the stars in the Andromeda clearly discernible. But most importantly, you can also see the black hole at the centre of the Milky Way. Class, today we learnt irony.

I ordered this on Amazon & I regretted it later. I had read all the positive reviews and expected it to work OK. On full aperture exposure, I could see a blur in images that may be caused by incorrect lens alignment. I contacted Celestron but they could not figure out the problem either. So I returned it to Amazon & ordered on Best Buy. And as I expected, the new one did not have the blurring issue. So, Amazon is sending items without proper quality check.

Wanted a scope that was quick and light to set up and this fit the bill. The tripod is a good size for this scope but a lawn chair makes it more comfortable viewing. The slow motion control works great for keeping objects in view. The 5×24 finder works ok but added a 6×30 in the spare dovetail on the scope. The 4mm eyepiece is good for the moon only. The 3x barlow won’t work with the diagonal so purchased a 2x barlow. The 20mm eyepiece works better then expected. Found many Messier objects and open clusters. Good for easy double stars as well.

Let me give you the perfect review .,first of all i wasn’t very convinced about buying this product at first due to all the bad reviews but then i read some guides on astronomy from small telescope etc.., which showed a number of objects to see from small scope and to me that was very convincing and i bought this. First of all the finder is really cheap and bad quality which makes star hopping impossible secondly clusters and other DSOs are very faint in it ..The tripod is steady enough but the real shakiness comes due the long tube like structure of the scope which makes it shake very much on slightest touch which in turn makes focusing and star hopping a near impossible task..Trust me if you have fairly clear skies and don’t care about seeing the rings on Saturn or any other planetary details then 10×50 binoculars are way better start as they are 1000 times easier to handle and carry and u can still see tons of clusters and a few DSOs with it which is sure a way better start..

    When to buy this telescope:-
1.This can be a perfect buy for someone just interested in seeing the craters on the moon or rings on saturn or jupiter with its four moons.
2.Gift for a child to get him interested in astronomy
    3.Occasional viewers.

    When not to buy
    1. First of all this is absolutely not for the impatient people
    2. If someone is already interested in astronomy and is sure of pursuing the hobby.
    3. Living in light polluted area
    4. Want to see clusters or DSOs aka beyond the solar system

CONCLUSION-in a nutshell if u just want to get a telescope and have a jist of what astronomy is really like or want to get that spark ignited then it might be a choice as will show good views of the moon and moderate of planets but to someone who wants to spend some quality time and is very keen on taking up astronomy as a hobby for sure and is on a tight budget then 10×50 binoculars are way and way better choice (as long as there is no desire of planetary detials) and later you can buy a 5″ reflector or possible a 6″ dob telescope

This is my son’s first telescope. He is taking an interest in so many things lately, so we didn’t want to spend too much quite yet. He is really enjoying looking at the sky and seeing what he can see. He likes looking out onto the ocean at the island across from us and is amazed at everything he is able to see

This is a good entry level telescope on a simple az-alt mount and is suitable for backyard observation of the moon and larger planets. As with all the Celestron scopes at this price level, the sighting scope is cheap and almost impossible to align accurately due to its plastic construction and the poor design of the alignment adjusters, though it is possible to work around this issue.
Similarly, the mount, though pretty sturdy, has a fair amount of backlash in it (particularly the fine elevation adjuster).
The optics seem reasonable for moderate magnification though under most conditions the highest magnification (4mm) lens is useless as the telescope aperture is too small (hence very dim image) and the mount is very susceptible to vibration. The 3x Barlow lens also provided is intended to be used without the diagonal and results in an inverted image and awkward viewing angle. I bought a short barrelled 2x Barlow (aftermarket) that can be used with the diagonal and solves these problems.
Notwithstanding these issues, for the price this is a good introduction to star gazing.

my 6 year old son has taken a huge interest in learning about planets, stars, constellations etc.
I bought this telescope after reading the reviews. I wanted to make sure I could use it with him. I am a novice and have never done any sky watching. The finder-scope calibration was the longest set up piece and it took only about 15 minutes calibrating with the 20mm and the 4mm eyepieces.
I haven’t used the supplied software as I just bough a the sky guide app. within minutes i had it pointed to Jupiter and my son was excitedly looking looking at the planet, 2 of the bands and 3 of its moons.
the next night we were able to observe Saturn and clearly differentiate the planet from its rings.
for what it is, this is an excellent telescope.
I live in the city and its very light pouted but we were still able to see the aforementioned, plus a few binary stars.
we are enjoying it quite a bit. the included Barlow is garbage. it’s not usable at all and will not focus at all with the 20mm eyepiece.
the 4mm eyepiece is not totally useless, we can see a Jupiter and the binary stars well defined, but as it’s a very small field of view it goes out of the viewing area and you have to constantly track. this is expected so considering the eyepiece is not the best quality (they never are) and it’s actually beyond the max “real” capability of the telescope, the 4mm is not bad at all.
I’ve just ordered a Plossl 12.5mm and a 2x Barlow to use with the 20mm and my new 12.5mm eyepiece
ideally from what I’ve read you probably don’t want to use anything higher than a 5mm on this scope.
all in all, I couldn’t be happier…the only problem is, my son’s enthusiasm has now hit me, I can many upgrades in my future.
all in all, this is the best telescope to learn..pretty much like a point and shoot.

Easy to set up, you’ll need new eyepieces, I suggest the celestron zoom eyepiece and a good 2x Barlow. The provided 3x barlow is useless for this telescope. I added a picture I captured of the moon using just my phone showing what you’ll see through the eyepiece. Good beginner scope but I’d you can afford it there is much better scopes out there.
