I wanted a canon sl1 the moment I saw someone carrying it on my cruise to Alaska. My Nikon d800 felt like Goliath next to the sl1’s David. I could never take the plunge because I was a professional and the sl range was always an entry level consumer product. Jump to the sl3. I wanted a small, light daily carry so I ordered the sl3 and the m100 (thinking I would keep the sl3 due to the 4k video). The sl3 arrived and looked gigantic. I held it up next to my old t2i and they were almost the same size (I’m not a cannon affitionado, but I assumed as they still make the t2 series that the sl was supposed to be smaller – not sure anymore why they still make two similar lines). Anyway, the m100 is ten times smaller and has EXACTLY the same picture quality – only no 4k video. The 4k video is cropped on the sl3, what this means is that the video is absolutely useless. I’m not going to explain detail why. If you are a pro you already know, if you are an amateur then just take my word for it – canon threw this feature on just so they could say 4k on the box. The 1080p on the m100, for example, looked better. The sl3 looks beautiful, but feels cheap. I doubt it would survive a small fall (I’ve dropped my metal Sony on a hard floor and not had a ding). The screen is bright and responsive. The best I’ve seen on any camera so far. Felt like a new phone. Wireless is easy to connect, but slow. No faster than the much older m100, perhaps slower. The camera comes with usb micro. For me a dealbreaker on a 2019 camera. Without 4k or usb c it’s an instant return. The m100 has usb MINI!! It seems to me that canon puts previous generation connectors on their lower end cameras so that pros and tech geeks purchase more expensive models. It’s a futile practice and just makes for antiquated tech. I almost returned the m100, but found that with a lense adapter for about 40 bucks I had a better, much smaller camera, for half the price. Also, a month after this came out canon announced the m200, 90d and mark 2. M200 is basically a tiny version of this camera. The 90d seems to be a better version with uncropped 4k and the m 6 mark ii – this is the camera you want. Uncropped 4k in a tiny form factor. And a larger newer sensor (more than 30 megapixels) also with usb c (however at usb 2 speeds, oh canon)

– Records up to 30 min video (lots of cameras have a 15 min limit)
– wi-fi & Bluetooth enabled (send media right to phone/computer)
– microphone jack (can connect external mic)
– clean HDMI out (can connect to monitor)
– very user friendly

I love this camera, I used to have a rebel t6i, but did not like it as the screen doesn’t move. With this the added benefit of the moving screen is really nice and I love it because of that. If you get it on sale like I did this camera is a steal and will not disappoint you what so ever

Dentre os modelos de entrada de câmeras DSLR, a SL3 é sem dúvidas a melhor!

I am overall very happy with my purchase. I bought a used item fulfilled by Amazon which gave me peace of mind from the get go. I ordered it on December 24 at 10pm and it was at my front door on Sunday, December 27th before noon! The camera is in excellent condition, with less than 1000 shutter cycles according to an app I used. I want to learn more about photography and this camera is excellent for this purpose. It’s definitely a step forward from my point and shoot, with a lot of modern features such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, but also it is easy to use and learn. I just love it!

I only had the camera for a few weeks but so far I really enjoy getting great pictures of my family that are in focus every time. I wish I had gotten this camera years ago instead of relying on my phone camera or my little point and shoot. It’s light enough so I don’t even notice it when carrying it around my shoulder. It is also easy to use from the start with presets for every situation.

There isn’t much to dislike about Canon’s SL3 SLR camera. I buy camera bodies often, keep them a year and then often upgrade (I travel for a living).
I have yet to find a really good POINT & SHOOT camera to carry for my travels. They always let me down (Canon included) in performance.
Now comes another SL series Canon camera (I thought the Sl1 and SL2 were dismal and cheap) called the SL3. Still offered in the tacky ‘White’ version as well as the classic black body.
I’m not about to list all of the specs (you can read those on your own by visiting the Canon website) here but I will keep this basic and to the point. I’ve purchased two of these (one on the day it was released and another from Amazon).
Let’s go right to the processor (DIGIC 8)… This is a rocket ship processor in speed and lighting. Dark closets, no flash, no tripod, etc, etc, etc all still produced vivid photos when I tested the SL3 I had just purchased. In fairness, I did use a SanDisk Extreme Pro 300MG card for speed but that card had nothing to do with lighting. I also used a L-Series IS lens which was e real reason for the superior lighting conditions produced.
The camera body is made in Taiwan. Mostly plastic and very lightweight. The GRIP of the body is fabulous. The so-called KIT lens (18-55mm) is sub-par in performance but it’s an excellent lightweight inexpensive lens if weight is an issue. The SL3 will accept both EF-S lenses and EF lenses.
Because I travel and carry way too much equipment, I wanted Canon to produce a fantastic Point & Shoot. They did not. Along comes the SL3 (red flags already after the Sl1 and SL2). Was I ever wrong…
I was so glad I tried the SL3. Lightweight. Even with the basic lens kit (F4 18-55mm lens) made mostly of plastic, it still did a great job of beating out any Point & Shoot. Plus at only 2 lbs for body and lens with battery. It was a BMW in performance despite being inexpensive, made of all plastic and a bit flimsy at times for switches and controls.
This is no Canon 6D Mark II or 5D IV. Not even close. But keep the cost in mind. Keep the weight in mind. Mostly, keep that fabulous Digic 8 processor in mind. So impressive.
A great choice. Actually, a bit under-priced I think.
Canon hit a home run in the SL3.

Saved a few bucks at the expense of a scratched lens. Beware of ‘minor cosmetic defect on sides/top/back of device’ as it might refer to the front of the lens 🤦♂️
Besides that:
– Camera is easy to use (Basically a point and shoot, with all the more advanced DSLR features)
– Wireless connectivity is great (at the expense of your phones storage)
– Auto focus is fast (and tracks faces and objects quite well)
– Canon Webcam utility is easy to use in place of HDMI capture device (resolution appears to be <720p, however it still appears much better than a cheap Logitech 720p webcam)

Great value for the price but had to return it because the video quality wasn’t up to par. I was mostly use it for video anyway. I returned this and bought the sony a6400 and now I’m very happy with my purchase! Overall, if you’re looking for a great hybrid camera you cant go wrong with the SL3. But for mainly video I suggest spend a few hundred more and buy the a6400.

An excellent choice for beginner/intermediate photography. What a great upgrade from canon EOS Rebel SL2.
It is the smallest camera in DSLR group. New image processor, accurate auto focus.
Great Pictures For a great price. I am happy I got it. Delivered in time by Amazon.ca
